Peace was the greatest law of Christ, we must stay peaceful in everything that we do. Jesus Christ's message of love and nonviolence is unmistakable. By letting go of attachment to worldly outcomes and desires, we can find a deep sense of peace and equanimity, allowing us to remain calm and compassionate, even in the midst of chaos. As followers of Jesus' teachings, pacifists can embody this radical love and nonviolence, becoming beacons of peace and hope in a world often torn apart by conflict and division. this video did NOT capture succinctly the key elements of the dispensational lens. a "2 minute" elevator talk would mention primarily that the OT promises made to Israel still have a literal fulfillment for Israel... just like numerous prophets say. When Mary was told that her son would be great, son of the Most High, and sit on the throne of his father David, she would have clearly understood these to be literal promises... including a real throne in a real Jerusalem. Covenant theology allegorizes many of these. THAT is the main difference. As to which one is correct, no point in trying to solve that here in a brief forum. Go read lots of books, mostly the Bible :)

thanks for this. I listened to the entire sermon again...and man! The way that Mark presents God the Father at the end of the sermon is horrific! And the way he presents communion...he is telling the men that God has abandoned them if they are being disobedient and He will not hear their prayers. Then he tells them to basically sit there until they fell worthy enough through their repentance to take communion. This is a prime example (and this still happens in many of the reformed-lite non denominational church plants that have the Driscoll DNA) of mixing law and gospel in preaching. It is incredible that he is trying to rehabilitate his image by saying "you have to understand the context". But is Cosper is correct, he is lying here by claiming that it only happened in the last service, where Cosper is claiming it happened in all services. Interesting. Oh and one more thing...during the sermon he expressed empathy with the men when they struggle with working hard day in and day out to provide for the family. Really!? At this point in Mars HIll, how much was driscoll making? $300,000-$400,000 a year!? His severance was what, $700,000 at the end, which was his yearly salary according to Cosper. Give me a break. I hate it when Pastor's who live high on the hog and rake in all that offering money to convert it into a full time salary, and have the most flexible and unaccountable schedules for years, and haven't had to clock in/clock out, take 30 minute lunches, and 15 minute breaks, act like they can empathize with the average working man. The book of Revelation says the redeemed will keep the Commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. God's grace will have exsinners in Heaven. But realize that keeping the false Commandments of God or having a false testimony of Jesus Christ will not save you., just the opposite it condemns you to eternal separation from God.

You'd be shocked how many Christians have no idea what the Bible said. And how many left Christianity after actually reading the Bible.

My favorite argument is that: Even if god is real(im agnostic) and he did write the bible, how can we know that he didn't lie or not tell the full truth

It would be better to say the reformed baptist movement is derived from the independents, not the presbyterians. 2LC is a revision of Savoy, which is a revision of Westminster. The first clear statement of congregationalist polity was in the new england cambridge platform, which was to be used alongside WCF. So the order is like this: WCF Cambridge platform + WCF Savoy 2LC

It is IMPOSSIBLE for the ten commandments to be works. Not even rest, is work. The new covenant, is the ten commandments, written on the hearts of the truly converted, or they be the subject of 1John 2:3-4. Under grace? Even non believers, and graceful liars are eligible for salvation.

I grew up Catholic in late 90s and early 2000s I went three times a week and I know we have statues of Mary but I've never prayed to Mary and the hail Mary full of grace prayer ..... Was never me praying to her it was praising the mother of Christ.... I'm not an expert or anything but once again I've never prayed to Mary and I'm not sure where that comes from

There are many claims with no proof

The question isn't why do so many people who hunger and this for justice find appeal in Douglas Wilson, its what is it that other churches are lacking that leaves those hungering and thirsting for justice without alternatives. If you bring your child up in what is right, when they are grown they will not falter. We tend to just cite this verse as a cheerful promise, but it has a reverse consequence. If your children grow up and falter, you know it was you who failed them. Well, the American church has taken KDY's preferred stance and has managed to raise four straight generations to falter. Why do you suppose that is?
