Thanks a lot very insightful video Prof.Kim. I got a question regarding the NCP, is it possible to calculate the value after an OLS regression in Stata? I want to improve my findings adapting the optimal level of significance, but have not a lot of proficiency in R. Thank you!
Hi, Thanks for interest. The NCP for the regression coefficient can be calculated in the same way as a simple case of population mean. That is (beta1-beta0)/SE, where beta1 is the value under H1 and beta0 is the value under H0 and SE is the standard error estimate. You can calculate the optimal level of significance in STATA using some programming. R is not difficult to learn: if you need help, please contact me by email (J.Kim@latrobe.edu.au).
