You did describe how the feed wheel works on flat and angled skives in a more in depth manner than other videos. You did what you set out to achieve and it helps others like me! Thanks!
Uau! Very beuatiful machine! Congratulations. I have one, and every day I undrstand a litle more, it´s a good machine. Rio de Janeiro - Brazil Parabéns!
Did you notice a drastic difference between the stock knife and the one you replaced it with? My Chinese machine arrived with a stock Chinese knife, and I'm wondering if some of the lackluster skives are due to the cheap knife. I have a Nippy knife that should be arriving soon.
I’d REALLY love to see you delve into the secondary servo! Did you do that mod yourself? Can you show how the servos are mounted and how they engage the pulleys? What size (make/model/wattage) servo was added?
This is excellent, very thorough, thank you for making it! One thing you didn't mention explicitly is another reason (or THE reason?) to lower the feeder stone when skiving thick leather is if you are skiving a thick layer off, the scrap needs somewhere to go under the knife, so you'd put the stone a little lower. But if you're skiving just a little off a thick piece, you wouldn't need to lower it even though the leather is thick. Does that make sense? Anyway, that's what the 80-year-old polish skiver mechanic told me :-D
Great walk through. Easily saves hours of “shot in the dark” adjustments. The manual is ....helpful.... depending on which version you get from the manufacturer.

Where did you find the Fortuna Manual? Is it something you could or would be willing to email?

Hi great video. Do you have an email address? I would love to ask you some questions I have about skiving designer, thinner leathers. Thank you.

Why the blade rotate the other way instead of going forward i just got one
Can you tell me why my skiver is not cutting a consistent thickness across a skive? I am a new user so I am not sure what I have done wrong.
Have you figured out the issue with the skive yet?
Hey thanks for the video. A quick question, do you ever grease the machine and if so how do you do it?

Incredibly helpful. Just set mine up using this as my tutorial. Much appreciated 👍
