Ranking The Wes Anderson Short Films (Netflix)
Yeah after yeat fans fucked over yeat for making a decent rap album, he went back to his old ways. The production is insane and it perfectly follows its theme just like 2093. Where in 2093 it was futuristic in lyfestyle its more aggressive. You can clearly see a theme. Every song there is at least an 8/10.
who let bro listen to yeat, garbage take
it’s a phenomal album you trippin. not as good as my glorious gkmc tho
Probably stick to church music then. Rap, R&B and hip hop are not for you.
L opinion. Still fire to this day🔥🔥🔥
I hated this album. I mean, not the whole thing, there were some ideas and elements that I like about it (the production, the proficiency of the playing, the Latin music flares), but it’s just faaar too outlandish and discordant and incel-y for my taste. I don’t like Greep’s talk-singing, and he consistently writes explicitly about sex, which there’s nothing wrong with in and of itself, but I prefer subtly and nuance with my sex lyrics and I hate how pummelingly blunt and direct and on-the-nose the sex lyrics on this album are. They’re just so…juvenile. They just beat you over the head and so many of them are cringe-inducing. Not the worst album I’ve ever heard, not even close, but not essential in the slightest for me personally. 1/5 stars. ⭐️
@@curly_wyn Nice review! I get what you’re saying, but the incel-y stuff is kinda the point I think. The lyrics work for me.
I agree. Musically, this is damn near a Frank Zappa album, but Geordie's "poetry" just sounds like nonsensical ranting to me, I don't particularly identify any lyrics that have anything to do with any dynamic an individual encounters in real life
I think lyrically he’s said in interviews he was inspired a lot by the pathetic misogynism of people like Andrew Tate. I think it’s meant to be abrasive because it’s a reflection and pastiche of how commonplace it is culturally. The lyrics in Holy, Holy are genuinely astounding, and absolutely incredible story telling about a sad charlatan. It’s different and slightly challenging, but a massive departure from Black Midi for sure.
You should review the new Godspeed You Black Emperor album as well!
I really hope he continues with the whole jazzy orchestra thing. Chamber pop is probably one of my favorite genres, but it's also pretty predictable. The orchestral stuff in this album sounded great and were always combined with something else that made them sound better. If you know anything kinda like this I hope you can tell me about them because I really like what he did here.
@@Qwertyuiopaz To be honest, the only album that comes to mind is Ants From Up There by Black Country New Road. Just in terms of the orchestral sound and the crazy ambition.
God how I love this album just pure blissful fun ts is my comfort album
@@DVHORNETTS It’s awesome
a darker more jazzical version of ants from up there
@@wochoigy2027 Dude! It’s very different but I was thinking a similar thing. Ants from up there was my AOTY from last year so I was thinking about that album a lot.
@@macmusicreview was released 2 years ago bro. Yeah still a good album.
The Magician is song of the year for me no contest. Absolute banger of an album
@@gutter951 Agreed
Come on…”she’s doin’ tricks with her pussy, she must be a vagician!” is such a terrible lyric 😵💫
Agreed with runaway, I’d even add runaway is very relatable for everyone, just our issues aren’t in light like his !
@@Twigmf I agree!
Way too poppy to be called country and to be accepted as a country classic
Our progressive music reviewers like piling on him. Of course he brought a lot of this by himself. Overall, I'm surprised of his huge success, though
true!
Weird you mention torches in this, these 2 are my favourites albums ever! I CAN TALK…. A skip??😭😭
10 Are you what you want to be? 9 Coming of age 8 Broken Jaw 7 Call it what you want 6 Don’t Stop 5 SCH 4 Best Friend 3 pumped up kicks 2 Life On The Nickel 1 Waste
FOH
This guy looks like he listens to machine gun Kelly music and thinks it’s good.
😂
You look like a the human equivalent of acne, stop doing reviews lil bro
great great album
You got moves. Keep it up
You should listen to the ‘haven’ album by Mariana’s trench, or react to a song from that album :)
I see them front row in Pittsburg . Most amazing experience of my life
Wow I'm old. This is what my parents felt in the 80s with let say..(some excellent band from that decade) anyway, I re-listened to this a week ago. Interestingly enough, it had been about 15 years since I listened to it and it is a truly a masterpiece for a band from their time. So different but magical.
for me i would say its like this: 1. Sleepyhead (Chunk of Change Version) 2. Moth's Wings 3. It's Not My Fault, I'm Happy 4. Live To Tell The Tale 5. The Reeling 6. To Kingdom Come 7. Take A Walk 8. I'm Perfect 9. I'll Be Alright 10. Until We Can't (Let's Go) my 5 honorable mentions in no specific order: Eyes As Candles Make Light Carried Away Hey K I've Got Your Number overall i agree with what you said about most of these. chunk of change is a masterpiece that is hard to describe, i think that it has some of the best lyrics ever written by michael, the rough singing on that entire EP makes it even more pure for me. manners and gossamer are both very solid albums, theres not a single song i dislike on either of them, just 2 or 3 that i find slightly less interesting. kindred and tremendous sea of love are a bit more out of my music taste but theres at least 4 songs i like a lot on both of them. also, i saw somewhere that michael actually did say that there is a new album in the works, which contains according to him "some old stuff and some new stuff" so im really excited for that, i hope that it has more influence from his first 3 records but also im interested in what the "new stuff" is.
@@IamTr54 Awesoke list! I’m Perfect almost made my list. Also so excited to hear that there might be new music coming! Can’t wait for that!
@@macmusicreview i definitely had a bit of bias with Sleepyhead and I'm Perfect because Sleepyhead was the first song i ever heard by passion pit (it was on a CD that my mom made and would listen to all the time in her car when i was like 5 or 6) and I'm Perfect was the song i heard which got me back into them (i found it in a playlist of songs similar to Let's Get Married by Bleachers) i think I'm Perfect would be my favorite song off of tsol anyways but i definitely have some slight bias in favor of it
@@IamTr54 sleepyhead was my first as well! Also let’s get married! Those early Bleachers hits are so nostalgic for me. I really liked that song a long time ago. That and rollercoaster!
You literally have them backwards lol. Supermodel is the least best while SHC is their best.
Always come back to this still lmaoooooo MASTAPIECE
interestingggg because for me, since i left you and wildflower are almost tied (SILY is still first tho) and then we will always love you was a disappointment (not dancey enough i guess) but i do still love it. frankie sinatra just goes so hard and i feel like wildflower comes close with cool sound and production to me. need to relisten tho
not to mention because i’m me, the wozard of iz, and the noisy eater. they all go sooooo hard i think wildflower is just more of a headbangy goofy album whereas SILY is a groovy trippy journey with boppy parts mixed in??
one of the few artists where no project ranking is incorrect
This album blows major chundies
As a twenty one pilots fan, I was actually a bit let down with Clancy. It was a pretty hit or miss album for me, but thank goodness routines in the night was on the album! I’m still gonna see their Seattle show next week because their concerts are incredible!
@@fernandothedrummer1005 yeah I’m not crazy about Clancy, but it has some really great songs on it.
The kanye verse on feild trip is ty dolla sign with kanye ai voice changer over it you can hear it a bit more clearly at the end of his verse
MIC CHECK MIC CHECK You're definitely quieter than some of the other RUclips channels I watch
You sound like melon in this lol
@@Blowingmind oh no…
If you have a voice isolation in your editing software use it and you should be all set. Otherwise sounds good
@@yshikawa no the mic is randomly staticky. I bought a new mic. We’ll see if it helps.
Speak life is so bad, fucking terrible singing, and the chorus is brutal
Nowhere near a classic 😂
TDCC really upped their lyricsl content with Beacon, their next album that I also love - but I honestly prefer the repetitive almost hypnotic way they go about the writing in this album. Like "you know what, yeah, this IS the life! Hell yeah i want it all!" Just giving my two cents
beacon has such amazing songs, but it is a much more somber-ish album as opposed to tourist history
i ❤ arcade fire, my no1 band for me. 2nd lcd soundsystem
8:12 agree with everything you've said but especially this.
You could listen to Charli XCX - Lucky for a slower Charli song. It’s so beautiful!
@@Jkjkjkkj2001 I’ll check it out!
Chappell Roan's album was more fun AND affecting IMO. Refreshing it has no autotune as well.
@@finslaw I haven’t heard the album yet, but I’ve heard good things.
Sophie was a producer of a lot of Charlie's songs like ''vroom vroom'', That is why I think she had extraordinary bond with her like other artist that worked with Sophie
Commatose by glass beach is probably my favorite song so far this year. If you don't get enough submissions, I also like Lithonia by Childish Gambino and nothing changes by mgmt is also really good. You obviously don't have to put those in the video but I suggest you listen to them if you haven't.
@@Qwertyuiopaz All great songs! I adore the glass beach album and will talk about that song!
That’s very tough, it really just depends on what mood I’m in. If I had to pick just one, I’d go with routines in the night by twenty one pilots!
@@fernandothedrummer1005 HELL YEAH. I wasn’t big on that album as a whole, but that song is a BANGER.
you are nice to listen to, only thing this video misses is a quick summary of what pros and cons you mention go on pal, chase the stars you've got it
There are only 2 complaints I have about this album. Both the repetitive outro of “everything is romantic” and the frequent “bumping that” ad lib in 365 start getting annoying pretty quickly. Otherwise, I think the album is really good! 360, sympathy is a knife, and so I are my 3 favorite tracks!
@@fernandothedrummer1005 Those are all big highlights for me as well!
8 out 10 for me, really good but don't see it as 10
10/10. Etoh is my favorite track tho, and I do think it can stand on its own in a playlist.
