"Being a good person is one of the highest achievements in life" Man, its such a sad thing to say that. What is a "good person"? Someone who never lies, cheats, covets, hates/is angry, and who always loves God, obeys God, worships God rightly and honors Jesus in all things... has anyone achieved this? Has anyone been a good person? No. No one has. Scripture tells us that "no one is good, no not one" (Romans 3). We've all missed the mark, We've all fallen short of God's glory, we've all failed to be good. Jesus Himself says "who is good but God alone?" What you and I need is not to try our best to be the food person. But, firstly, embrace the fact that we're not good people and are in desperate need of a perfect righteousness that we can't give ourselves. We are in desperate need of Jesus to pay for our sins and to give us His perfect righteousness. Friend, your hope is not "im a good person, or i try to be." Your only hope is to throw yourself at the feet of Jesus and plead for grace.
