He bounced it because he wanted to drop mana rocks after. Once Heliod whell, everything cost -21 colorless so he can drop all of his mana generator He just got over countered

The player was in his beginnings with Tayam so he is aware that he made horrible mistakes but he is a quick learner and is way better today

@@NoobplayscEDH its fine actually.. just pointing out his mistake.. cause this could cost his game on a competitive match.. i am a tayam player.. its a difficult deck to master and has a lot of variants of lists.. so it takes time to understand ur own lists, and time of gameplay, my for example uses not as much stax pieces as most.. other use ad nauseam.. only playing will make him learn with mistakes 🤜🏼🤛🏼

You are somewhat right and Grixis pile should be looked at. But when the development team itself admits they made a mistake, this kind of knee jerk reactions happen. Commander is a social format and anything that takes this much time away is not fun. No other combos takes this long to resolve, this is the issue and not all Nadu players do the combo quickly. I personally adapted and even if he has all the counterspell in hand, you never concede in a tournament.

@@NoobplayscEDH i think they admitted they made a mistake only for modern concern. There are plenty of more broken cards in edh that nobody is willing to ban (dockside/underworld breach/thassa's oracle/mana crypt and why not include jeweled lotus too). Plus roghar and tymna/kraum are way more oppressive than nadu, for color identity and for gameplay

@@NoobplayscEDH i agree about the social part of edh, but tournaments are not only for fun, it's competitive and having infinite combos is part of the game. Anyway nadu is banned now, i hope they adress underworld breach too.

@@odyseeus haha yes I think I know who is playing since you can count the number of neheb players on 1 hand. But tbh my playgroup also throws every piece of interaction at it because once it connects it's difficult to stop.

I,m 50/50 on Bans. Saw the Ban videos on @PlaytowinMTG and I have to admit, they are right. The more ban, th eless vbroken the format gets. We just need to wisen up and run Amphibian Downpour and Dress Down effect. As you may know, I play Magda, all my burn spells now does at least 4

I agree. I am mostly against bans except when it leads to people playing in a sloppy manner which makes it impossible for opponents to follow their actions and catch misplays and illegal actions. Nadu is really easy to misplay into a win because your opponents can't follow your boardstate...This is not gameplay worthy of a top4 table in a high stakes cEDH tournament!

⁠​⁠@@julietremblay768cEDH is a multiplayer format, if you were really doubting about the boardstate, you could have asked for a clarification! and its even easier to do when there is a judge and there was! as you said, it was a high stakes table and players are stressed, they make mistakes, you can’t put all the fault on the nadu player cause as i’ve said at anytime any of y’all could have asked the player or the judge to take time to clear out the board, which you didn’t. so instead of complaining after losing you should just ask yourself what could you have done better as a whole!

@@blaedsounds139 i agree. I just though it was the judge's job to keep things clean and legal since he was sitting right there the whole time. Next time i will make the nadu player clean his board and carefully pass priority during each action. If it takes 2 extra hours because he doesnt know his deck well then that just sucks for all 3 other players which is why i think nadu should be banned....

None of them are AdNaus deck so if Magda is not out, I dont make treasure by tapping Spark Mage. I could and should have. Always swing out , 2-3 life can make a change at the end of a long game

From what I remember, he doesn't activate Unctus, it is Unctus trigerring from a Blue creature gettin g tapped. Trigger is 200 right while activated it 200 left.

Not always easy and I was far behind and Kinnan player always trying to throw me under the bus as the next to win. THis was an out of the blue, instant speed win.

Minish from Magda's discord helped me a lot but that line is wonderful. I would love to have an alternate for barkform so I can loop without a creature. Grafdigger is a wonderful stax piece and keeping it in game is sometimes crucial (Tayam, Kinnan activations) THanks for the comment

Even the judge was saying "If you say go to combat, you are no more in the main" and I pointed that I am specifically saying "I am attempting to move to a different phase"

All players have to pass an empty stack before the game can move onto the next phase example if someone would like to do something before combat you will remain in the main phase until another round of priority has passed

@@NoobplayscEDH Your judge was incorrect. 500.2. A phase or step in which players receive priority ends when the stack is empty and all players pass in succession. Simply having the stack become empty doesn’t cause such a phase or step to end; all players have to pass in succession with the stack empty. Because of this, each player gets a chance to add new things to the stack before that phase or step ends. It only actually changes once the stack is empty with all players having passed. Someone in later order having effects when given priority resets priority to you after stack clears and you again have to attempt to change phase.

Holy shenanigans! So yeah, it was an illegal move in this case. You cannot remove counter from Icatian than sac him. If he would remvoe counters then tap mana, that would be grabbing at straws though. Also, the channel is called Noob plays cEDH, it is meant to be somewhat educational, spot mistakes done and get better. Thank you for prving Tayam player is not infaillible, especially past 9pm (Game 8 means it was super late)

@@NoobplayscEDH yeah I was 99% sure that is how it worked. 3/3 green elk commander. So the Jeska’s will should have triggered both modes.

Quick note that even if it COULD, it doesn't mean the player decides to. Sometimes, exiling 3 cards is not a good idea if you only need the mana.
