Lifts at Berwick Station Multi-deck Carpark. Interesting Motor Sound!
Replaced.
Where this at, Im trying to go ride most of the old lifts before they go.
Good idea as they’re disappearing. This set is at the multi deck car park at 17 Daly Street South Yarra.
@MarkoCR221L I already told you this one
That was before you told me lol@@busesaroundmelbourne
@MarkoCR221Lfarken
@Markocr221l farken*
South Yarra?
Yep this set is in South Yarra
Also, if U have time, film lifts at Altona gate mall
If i had a shilling for all the lexans in Adelaide i would be a millionaire
Interesting, I'm planning a visit to Adelaide! I remember there been a lot in Melbourne when I was a little kid but a lot have been replaced or been heavily modded.
Never seen a green lobby floor Dewhurst button, but hey, there's a first time for everything!
Yeah it's a bit unique!
Once I was going to the cinema with my mum, and that lift randomly stopped (I was outside it) and the screen showed an alarm animation, and it stayed at 3. I got back after a 3hr film, and it was still there 🤣
Oh dear lol
Lifts have the KHRL voice
CDC is so much better than McHarrys Also Geelong needs a tram or light rail
Would be so good to have trams / light rail back in Geelong. Wish they never removed them and instead expanded but just how it was in previous decades. It was proposed for the massive northwest and west growth or have trams that do a big circuit connecting to frequent buses. However, I think it got canned. Will just be another area where it's easier to drive sadly.
Ofc a “Victoria University” would also exist in Melbourne lol… These lifts look *amazing!* Curious how the ‘16’ button actually lights up green despite the red backlight - and of course, the UK voice is a really nice touch!
These lifts are awesome! Can't really hear it in the recording over the loud fans but the motors sound epic. Vic Uni is interesting, they have old campuses but this is their trial high rise campus, tallest in Australia!
bro that lift looks like a direct drive gen z😂😂😂😂
Lol it it is a gen Z in human years!
I think they're Piagers.
Interesting, never heard of those
Request: do a big lift tour of Highpoint mall
Sorry for late reply, wiill keep it in mind!
Those are actually original Otis Series 1 lifts that were installed in 1987-1988 during the construction of the centre. They also have square 1980s generic Dewherst buttons instead of Series 1 buttons from Otis as Otis’s Series 1 buttons were plastic and not the most durable or vandalism resistant! :)
Thanks, that’s really interesting! The rest of the lift has lasted well in that case. It will be a loss if the centre is closed and knocked down for redevelopment as keeps being discussed in the media.
@@MelbourneLifts Yeah they should just keep it as it is and maybe restore/fix it up while also adding some colourful 1980s like elements as it could still look really cool and characterful if it had that older look! It’s also another reason why the Boronia Mall is still doing well today even though it’s never changed much since the 1970s and it’s also officially a time capsule of the 1970s as it is heritage listed! :)
What building was it knocked down
Grace Church, formerly Waterfront Church. But originally built in the 60's (ish) as a bowling alley. Double story, this was the ground floor above the carpark.
The Otis motor AC doesn’t usually make a funny noise. But I filmed an Otis Square Lexan at 26-30 Florence Street in Hornsby. The AC motor makes a little bit of a funny noise but has the same fixtures as this.
I’ve come across a bunch of lifts with these fixtures, but first I’ve seen that sounds like this. It may not fully come across but it was so loud.
Lift suggestion: the Avenue arcade in Ocean Grove, close to Geelong
Thanks, will try to get to that next time I’m down that way.
May be a silly question, but what is the street address?
@@MelbourneLifts 69 the terrace, once there there will be a big sign
Looks like motion elevators modernized this.
It’s definitely been modded
I remember when I had a course there one day and I went into that lift. I loved it!
Same, currently doing a course there. It’s a great lift!
Nice motor sound
Yep it sounds awesome
I didn't know my town has such good lifts! Where abts is this?
Great to have a viewer that also lives in Geelong! We sure do have some nice lifts. These lifts can be found at 51 Malop Street Geelong, you go via a door which is left of the AWA alliance bank branch.
While you’re at it, black button Lexan can be found pretty much over the road, in the block behind Australian Hearing’s office
What building is this? I live in Geelong and wanna ride it
22 Malop Street Geelong. In the building behind the Australian Hearing Shop. Go in via the main sliding doors and turn left, will then find it next to the stairs.
Also, you can find another similar model at the building that hosts GUF games, 73 Malop Street Geelong.
@@MelbourneLifts cheers!
@@melbournetransport15wait sorry I got mixed up, this is the one for GUF games
Love Otis Lexans. They have probably the best fixtures.
Wow! Beautiful ❤️
Thank you! 😊
They're actually Johns Perry, modded by thyssenkrupp.
Thanks
TKE's own LCD in Australia?
Nice view!
Large Alphasoft indicator!
No it’s a KDS 50 or a KDS 300 AUS segment indicators
This has a large Alphasoft indicator
I like how the main floor has a different coloured button to the others, like what eletech does.
Better than the average Schindler Smart, in my opinion, since it's more compliant & isn't a Keypad
Agreed. Much more intuitive for the public, it just operates like a normal lift. As unique as it is, can imagine people getting confused with the keypad.
Nice Gen2 Life
What’s the bet it will be replaced by a Schindler 5000 or some other boring lift?
Very true sadly. Having said that, the rumours are that they’ve been thinking of closing the Geelong store. So that has helped it’s survival because they don’t want to invest in a new lift. It’s the same with the escalators, which have become unreliable (more so than the lift).
Just as bad would be a significant modernisation like happened to the Johns Perry lifts at Market Square Geelong. Thyssenkrupp completely ruined it. Made it much slower and far more boring with their modern logic
Where was this?
At a public car park near South Yarra Station in Melbourne. A pair of slightly rundown but beautiful original lexans.
@@MelbourneLifts Nice.
That's something new 😮
Yeah it’s interesting. Haven’t seen one of these before myself.
ThyssenKrupp's new design line @@MelbourneLifts
It's good to see express lifts around Australia
It sure is! A really nice and interesting lift.
Did this lift replace another KONE?
No, this is a complete new build! They bought up a block and put in basement market parking, 5 floors of library and a apartments above. Each have their own lifts. It’s a really cool place
@@MelbourneLiftsLooks really nice!
I wish to one day ride a Schindler Smart
Sucks it doesn’t have an announcement
Seems recently installed! Very nice scenic lift
Yes these are very recently installed as part of the Melbourne Quarter Development. A nice view and will be better once it’s all done, overlooking the plaza
This lift is INSANLY RAAARE
In hardware stores The epicenter of Khmelnytskyi region is the elevator Freight transportation for 2500 kg is male votes Oleksiy Stepanovych, the door opens on the 1st floor, the back door opens
Can you go to 566 Elizabeth street Melbourne. Because there is a lift there I am interested in.
For sure! Will try to do that next time I'm in the city!
@@MelbourneLifts Ok thanks. I will give some requests for some lifts that need to be seen. Sorry I am from Sydney that's why.
See I actually got caught for being in a “Service area” when it was publicly available no doors, and it was a roof top carpark lobby. No clue.
Some people are just complete power trippers. I got told offf for something very similar. Was on a public lower floor of a carpark but they got angry after they asked where my car and I said not parked here. Unfortunately it seems to just be part of the hobby sometimes.
Looks like I know where I’m going.
Yeah it's a really interesting lift!
This was installed in 2019.
Yes that's right!
i have some of those buttons
That’s a 5500 btw
Thanks for the heads up! I'm interested in how you tell the difference though?
@@MelbourneLifts 3300’s have surface Mount panels, with cheaper doors, worse levelling, and worse build quality overall. 5500’s always have door motors which make a louder whirring sound when opening.
@@MelbourneLifts This is a 3300 example ruclips.net/video/lwsjZMmhu0Q/видео.html
@@LachieVidsTransportVlogs By surface mount, are you referring to those control panels that are sticking out on your video?
@@MelbourneLifts Yep, not built into the walls of the lift instead mounted on them
I’ve been in this very lift not long ago!
What an interesting voice!
