So let’s start with your premise that “Roman Catholicism is so wrong.” If we’re “so wrong,” then why do Christians use the Bible our magisterium (led by Popes) put together? If we’re wrong, then create a new Bible with other books. Go find a better theology of baptism. You can’t because what God revealed through His One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church is truth. Since you clearly haven’t studied history I can’t blame you for making assumptions about the Pope. He’s never said it’s ok to divorce but I’m safely assuming you only read headlines and not the article, let alone reading the actual addresses and writings of Pope Francis. You need to read more than headlines. I’m glad you noticed that Christs passion is important and necessary for the resurrection. Keep diving deeper into why that’s important. There’s no resurrection without the Cross. If God is your “only father” then why call your biological dad “father?” Clearly God is not your “only” father and you recognize that. I serve a role as a spiritual father. If you don’t like that, that’s ok. Calling me father is not necessary for salvation.

@@fr.dominicclemente1943 for one the apocrypha is not part of the canon, it was not inspired by God, also i have books on this not just some headline, i suggest reading Roman Catholicism by Lorraine Boetner, its a good book it does have some things in it which have changed over time but its still very strong, and it proves it point according to scripture, there are many more books i have on this but thats one which is a good one, and i wasn't saying that the pope was saying its okay to divorce but their are situations that the pope has allowed people to divorce which isn't according to the Bible. You cant say i do not know the history, now im sorry for coming in and attacking you i shouldn't have done that. Now im not saying there is anything wrong with the cross, its very important! im saying how you (The Roman Catholic church) have Christ on the cross and on crucifixs, how about in the Bible where it says in Exodus 20:4 saying "you may not have any images from heaven or anything above"? Sorry i said the father stuff very confusing, i meant that i only have two fathers, my biological father and God the father who adopted me as his child and made me his son, i am a Reformed Baptist, i am glad we do have the same one belief in the one true Lord and belief in him alone saves us, i beleive your doctrines are wrong and many things about Catholicism but i love you. i will get back to you on the "Better Theology of Baptism". im Glad we are able to discuss this which can deepen our faith and understanding of God, again sorry for coming at you like an attack. i will get back to you.

@@Adam20672 Good question, but the word Father does not in this case mean your birth father, but a teaching father that they called Father. It's two different meaning of the word.

@viniciusgomes7215 Thank you! I don't agree, but it's an answer to my initial question. As a christian, I always need to question why we do what we do both in my life and in church. When I read the Bible, I listen, and study what is being teached and I do my best to follow. Earthly teachers can be a good thing, but can often also mislead. The Bible never lies. @@Littlekitten_ Catholics, and most Christians, moved the Sabbath to Sunday because that’s when Jesus rose from the dead. That’s the most wonderful day in the history of humanity, so why wouldn’t we worship God and rest from our labors on that glorious day of the week? Jesus never built a temple or church to worship God in because He is God! The Jews however did have a Temple and Jesus was furious that the Temple wasn’t being used to honor God. We make our Church buildings beautiful to give glory and honor to God. We use the best metals and artisans because God deserves the very best. God gave us life and the gift of eternal life if we follow Him. It’s only proper we return the gift with the very best things we can offer Him.

@@chimera48 yes, we keep a professional level of confidentiality whenever someone talks to us in private but if that private information needs to be made public for some reason, we would be able to talk publicly. Within the seal of confession we can never discuss that publicly for any reason at all.

Been ages since a kerfuffle was made in my bio dad’s church when I was little and I never understood who caused it as it was always made to seem anything you told the Priest was always kept private. He passed over a decade ago and I guess I’ve been curious to know more of the inner workings of his church, as he never did come with me and my mom to hers even when they were married.
