Good operators but terrible for newcomers. Doc might be a legacy operator but his guns have to modded properly which new players won't do initially, not only that but he has an active gadget which means you have to stay alive to be of any use for your team and newcomers would struggle with that too. Ace is (yet again) a great operator with a good gun and good gadget but he isn't legacy first off and secondly his gun has high recoil for a beginner. Also you need to learn to throw his breaches in the optimal position so you can walk through them, otherwise you're making terrible holes that will only give the enemy an advantage. My personal picks would be Mute for Defence and Thermite for Attack. Both legacy but Mute is OP as hell even when you're dead and Thermite is incredibly hard to mess up while providing a ton of value and having a 0 recoil gun that does good damage.

never letting a bricked bin play ace in ranked. had too many randoms completely sell because they can't play ace and get wall or just get themselves spawn killed because they didn't look for run outs etc. if anything they should be playing Osa or nomad or anyone that helps team and can't sell because of one mess up
