How to Play Venusaur EX in Pokemon TCG Pocket
All in all, I would be tempted to use Aerodactyl over Machamp tho. That's mostly because Marshadow is valuable with the 100 dmg Revenge. Heh, who am I kidding? Both decks are obliterated by Starmie lol. 21:59 Oh brother... You can't catch a break, can you? 27:37 Took him long enough to show his face. You can't even tank Starmie's attack now. 1 victory/3 losses - I'm sure you can get 1 more win. 35:00 There we go!
this one was a nightmare gameplay wise lol, but i think this is fundamentally a more solid deck then the aero one, but I do like the support options from the Aero video, Im currently trying golem with Hitmonlee, and Marshadow, Kangaskhan, and Druddigon and figuring out the best combo before that comes out, but Golem i think is the best of the three fighting builds based on the games ive played in the last few days, this video was obviously made before Mythical Island
@@leafgreengaming Golem, huh? It seems counterintuitive to me knowing he needs 4 energies, but I believe you. After all, you have way more experience than me lol.
@@valentin4561 so what ive noticed in my testing so far, is that Geodude is a 1 energy attacker, Graveller is a 2 enery attacker, Golem is 4, but playing brock on the evolution gives you the 4 on turn 3. then Golem goes 120 damage and its effect is you take 30 less damage on your opponents turn, and so far in testing that has been clutch, i also just noticed today Golem and Druddigon just won a 1500 player tournament lol
@@leafgreengaming It did WHAT? Alright, I'm sold.
@valentin4561 yeah went 13-2 lol not too bad. Of the 1500 players only 3 played golem and it got a w not too bad
-Pros: Low energy cost/Basic cards + Decent DPS in the early game -Cons: Aerodactyl never sees the light of day -Conclusion: I'll watch your vid on the Machamp EX deck to make up my mind. 15:30 Smart move! Now, it all depends on you drawing the Old Am- Primeape... Where is the Old Amber when you need it?!
so another thing is ive been testing out and trying Golem a bit this week to figure out a video for that as well as a third fighting type option. I think ive come to the conclusion Aero is the worst, simply because you cant search old amber, and the damage is too low to be a focal point, like you said energy commitment is low, and if you can prevent an evolution its nice, but I think Aero is best as a utility Pokemon thats able to attack rather then the focus of a deck, like we have here in this one
@leafgreengaming Yea, I see what you mean.
Eres un genio, buena estrategia
@@juliocochoa19 Gracias
I love your videos
Appreciate you checking them out. Glad you enjoy then!
9:26 Lmao I knew this was going to happen! Ignatz is definitely the MVP of this battle! 21:02 Holy shit! That Dynamax Rillaboom was nuked! The battlefield got "weird" because the spectators saw Rillaboom doing the Yamcha pose lol.
Lol
13:23 Welp, that was anti-climactic. It's unfortunate that Charizard came in too late with no energy. I wouldn't be surprised if this was their first match against an Alakazam. 19:05 HUGE shout-out to Cidon07 for putting themselves in checkmate! -No offense, I would make the same mistake lol. 24:24 I guess we'll never know if it was an Aerodactyl deck or not.
@valentin4561 lol yes shout out. But honestly idk I think alakazam is so underrated. But not playing one before this point would be wild. But mew has added a level of consistency to any psychic deck that weezing and koga couldn't before.
@@leafgreengaming explo card is a banger <3
Yesss the water deck gonna be dope, keep up the good work 👏
Should be next week it comes out. I think if there's still too many people trying out celebi this week for it to give water a fair chance
I love this series
Glad your enjoying it! :)
14:07 At this point, I would prefer a Sneasel with Life Orb over a weak-ass gear lmao. You can find the Life Orb in the Slumbering Weald, which is only accessible after the E4. Ignatz will have to LOCK IN!
Well sneasel is redundant with arctizolt. But I get what you mean lol we will make Ignatz work though. Eviolite on a steel type hopefully van come in clutch and we a mini wall of sorts
@leafgreengaming Hopefully!
35:20 If recovery/rebound cards are added, energy acceleration on water decks (Misty) will get a HUGE buff. I think that would be an interesting interaction.
Any form of card recovery will help every deck honestly lol
Celebi is bringing you some much needed luck, especially at 22:50 and 24:50. You got 16 heads on 27 coin flips in total! Granted, this is Celebi EX and not a Misty card. 10:25 50/50 to get it back - Another coin flip, huh? 12:32 Yup! After listening to it for 12 min, this remix is DEFINITELY going on my playlist.
@valentin4561 yup 0 for 70 on Misty but the grass roots here are legendary lol nature is on my side with celebi
@@valentin4561 also all the music is from glitchxcity
@@leafgreengaming Oh true, you did say that at one point 👍
Bro chill! You already got the onion deck on lock?! 😭 lol Nah ggs bro bro. Thanks for the tips 👊😎💚
@ChilLaxMon not gonna lie my first 2 packs had the emersive celebi and the ex right after lol I was super lucky
Definitely did not expect how aggressive this deck is with the ramp up. Currently sitting in the awkward position where I have two Serperior but no Servine, just like what happened to me with Ivysaur lol I was trying to think of some other deck Serperior could support into but Celebi ex is just way too strong for how little energy it requires to start rolling.
@notKnotUp This deck is super agressive for sure! i feel that though, again i had to use pack dust to make this video lol. I think Serperior could make any grass type work even other stage 2, the problem is you would need to mess with the lines i dont think 2-2-2 would work for serperior or whatever else you want to use, and then you still need a staller, a because its all reliant on the 2 stage evo, the deck feels like Mewtwo, until you realize you have better healing and double damage fo the 2 energy at the start.
The dark gym leader with that obstagoon is really strong 😅
aha yeah he was a bit of a threat, we got em though!
He already had 2 dragon types it should be a weather gym instead of dragon gym 😅
Amazing team man
Hopefully this can carry us the rest of the way, wasnt sure how the team was gonna come together for a while but i think this has potential for sure
Just saying, Raihan is going to be a issue if you can't change the weather. 38:24 Counter got the better of me on my playthrough. I'm glad you didn't lose someone to it!
Oh I got a tech for raihan
Hey leaf can you make a fighting or steel type video or both? lol I'm curious to see what you come up with
For sure! I am waiting to see the full list for the mini set coming out Tuesday. Cause I do think marshadow has promise. And even aero EX. So far I've liked machamp EX over Marowak just for consistency. I am working on a final list but it's in the works! Promise!
Cool, thanks man!!!
10:31 Oh, I see. The clear disadvantage with monotype decks is that bad matchups dictate whether you win or lose, especially if you don't have EX cards. 15:57 Wait, he only got 2 points. Do you lose if you don't have any pokemon on your hand after your active mon is KO'ed? 29:59 You know what? This is a decent deck! You just need a good starting hand.
Well strong decks like Pikachu and mewtwo and even Charizard. They can get going fast enough to overcome type advantage. Venusaur decks currently don't have a ton of support. There's a mini set expansion coming out in a few days that might have something to help. But venusaur struggles because you can't search for evolutions yet. So you have to top deck it. And then you need 4 energy. So this deck that doesn't have much energy commitment and doesn't need to find 2 other cards can win games fast. It's speed over power effectively. As far as your other point. Decking out doesn't make you loose in this game its strictly if you don't have a legal way to put an active pokemon out or loose 3 pokemon. Other then turn 1 you can only add to the active slot from the bench not from your hand.
@leafgreengaming Ohhh that makes sense! Thank you for the clarifications! These decks are in the meta for a reason lol.
I love this seiries
Glad your enjoying ! I appreciate the support of you checking it out
22:52 YESSIR! You finally found a decent female pokemon. Contrary Malamar is going to DESTROY the competition when it learns Superpower at lvl 47. 27:14 Nevermind, it already has Superpower.
im super excited for this honestly, i dont think ive ever used one before so excited to see what it can do
Your videos are golden thx for the great set ups
Thanks for checking it out! Glad it was helpful for you!
Why didn't you just retreat the baby mewtwo to kill his Mewtwo EX with Jinx at 12:10?
@deadhardy in the moment I think I miss counted the damage or just wasnt paying attention properly. But your absolutely right that's what I should've done!
how to play? well, hope to start second, draw mew two turn 1, hope very hard to have a gardevoir set up on turn 3 and that's it. if any of these conditions are not met, you might be in trouble (and i mean, not even able to attack kind of trouble)
I think all the stage 2 decks feel similar right now. At least EX mewtwo can attack in 2 turns for something or retreat out. But having a 2 stage be your engine feels bad when it doesn't work out right now for sure
honestly i'm really unsure, i swap jynx with a second sabrina, but then i swap her with jynx and so on, i can't really tell you what's better. i always play at least with a sabrina and a giovanni (i prefer it over red card, just to one shot exeggutor ex, zapdos with baby mewtwo, charmander, dragonite, situational but useful). The question is jynx or another sabrina? Against Charizard Ex Jynx is a win, but I feel like sometimes it slows the deck too much
It's so tough right now. If charizard usage continues to climb jynx really punishes Misty and moltres ex heads even mirror matches with mewtwo gardevior can't mindlessly put extra on mewtwo and I do find that valuable. But I also agree being able to snipe a dragonite with Giovanni can win you games. Exeggutor while rare to see I think sets up too fast for Giovanni to make a difference by the time you get the energy on line. And people starting to play more baby exeggutor over EX now as well. I think it's just the trade off of better math vs Rouge decks or do you hedge on playing charizard 15%-20% of the time
@leafgreengaming yea I changed my mind, I think you are right, swapped giovanni with jynx. Still using two sabrina bevause I prefer them over a red card
@_goodmaster_ytita7153 i play one giovani one sabrina with jynx. its true sometimes i dont need the giovani but i feel it gives me options and that can be clutch sometimes. now that you removed it do you feel you need it or its very situational?
Pixie plate verg useful 🧚🏼♀️🧚🏼♀️
That was the weakest fairy trainer 😕! Signal lost 😮 ggs ❄️
Another great list! Very aggressive and consistent
Thanks! This list I think is kind of becoming the standard now as well. Excited for the mini set to see what changes in the next few weeks!
This deck looks incredible, the Moltres EX does some heavy lifting. A Giovanni does seem important to buff your Arcanine EX, too.
I think 130 Is a massive deal to hit. Zapdos and starmie both are there just to name a few. Also in mirror matchups 130 would take out a arcanine with its own recoil if it stays in
4:48 Let it be known that your explanations of the decks are greatly appreciated! As far as I'm concerned, the Pikachu Deck seemed more threatening. 14:34 Remind me to never underestimate Jynx again. 30:42 You can say that again! Weezing decks are brutal. You can easily poison and trap your opponent for a slow death.
Glad the explanations are helpful! And yeah jynx is a monster
8:02 Not again... Read the room, Delibird. Christmas is in more than 2 weeks. 2 weeks! You'll roleplay with Santa Claus as the queen and her loyal servant then and ONLY then. 25:15 That noibat said and I quote: "Call an ambulance! Call an ambulance! But not for me!" You might wanna steer clear from that Noibat. Heck, even the roaming Noivern in the Wild Area seems less threatening.
Help I need good encounters! Lol it's okay we don't need a queen anyways 😢
i know why this deck is the best deck. even with bad hand, you can win with it
if its not the best its top 2 for sure, the thing is any deck without having to worry about evolutions is really strong, cinccino has the same move as pikachu, but it needs to evolve first, and then its not supper effective against Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, and Charizard. its a combo of things, but once fighting types get some support im hoping it will give us another colour in rotation to use, fire's increase in usage with Arcanine included with Charizard is going to drop electric a little bit and increase water too evening out how much we keep seeing the same 3 decks
Thx so much for the guide man. this game is my first pokemon tcg game, and i open charizard pack as my first pack bcs i like the art so much. play it overtime, and still didnt play well. So much insight in this video
@rafsanjlil it takes time you will get better for sure with practice! The great part is charizard has alot of budget builds within it as well if you don't find Charizard or arcanine. Blaine with rapidash and ninetales is a great place to start as they are mostly common cards. Giovanni can be used before and after you get Blaine to help out with fast damage
Dec 12 is when I'm planning the how to play Blaine video
Ahh ggs bro bro. It would be nice if I had all these cards 😭 but fff pika anyway 😤
hit me up on Discord, we will make you some HEAT decks
How dare you make my boi a pawn... Sneasel is nobodies tool, he is the mastermind, the hand that guides, and the sovereign that bows to no man, woman, or pokemon!!! lolol. if you couldnt tell sneasel is my favorite mon. been enjoying the series off and on for a bit. keep doing you my guy
@ceilingcatouroboros6 Lol appreciate the support. Sneasel is definitely dope! Is it sneasel specificly? Or weavile?
One day, you'll find an heir worthy to be the queen. One day... 0:21 I still don't know what any of these nicknames are referencing. 7:05 That trainer's strategy was so boring that I started sleeping mid-battle. I only woke up when the gym leader initiated the gym battle. It was THAT bad. 14:52 The PlayStation's morning tea finally kicked in lmao. You were this close to reenacting the Boston Tea Party of 1773.
@@valentin4561 someday!
Been looking for something to watch and found the concept of the chesslocke really interesting, love it so far
Thanks for checking it out! Glad your enjoying!
This mushroom city looks very beautiful 😊 love the mushroom forest glimwood tangled too i would love to stay at this place where there lots of plants and love the shrooms and lots of fairy types 🧚🏼♀️💕! Inpidimps & morgrems ! U turn is a cool move love the kirlia and ponyta too
i think this is one of the cooler cities/ towns in all of pokemon honestly
Where did u get the decklist image that u used on the video?
@AquieoFabin there's a few different sites. I use pokemon meta's deck list builder
7:28 when you start off like this, try to play one Bulbasaur in your active spot and then leave your bench empty. Because if you bench the second Bulbasaur and other basic pokemon then you risk your opponent using Sabrina on you when you start investing energy on to your pokemon already. You could have built up a Venusaur ex on turn 3 with 3 energy. And then on your 4th turn you could have started swinging for 100 and healing 30 with his second attack. It wasnt necessary to use the Bulbasaur in your active spot as a body to build up your other Bulbasaur on your bench. In fact, it actually slows you down because now you have to either draw in to an X Speed or place an energy on the Bulbasaur in your active spot to be able to switch it out for Venuasaur ex. That makes you play on turn behind You could have won by turn 6 or 8 if you did this. The match went 16+ rounds
That makes sense! Definitely not the best players, so I appreciate this! Slowly, I'll get better!
9:18 Damn right, you are! Hop got DESTROYED! 33:20 4th gym leader gets destroyed live on all streaming platforms by pastry 👀 What's even funnier is that Bea is revealed to have a sweet tooth in Pokemon Masters EX! I guess that she got overwhelmed by the size of the icing on Alcremie.
I didn't even know that! That makes it even better lol
28:59 I would've deleted Zapdos from my deck so quickly lol.
Right lol that's a yikes
It's a shame that your Route 6 encounter was mediocre. As far as I'm concerned, I've never used Heatmor in a pokemon game and I intend to keep it that way. 28:24 Okay, this Clefairy needs to reveal their secret with those perfect Metronomes! Confuse Ray - Sweet Kiss - *Gets the equivalent of Nasty Plot* - Solar Beam UNDER THE SUN: This feels heavily scripted. It even used Teleport after the second Decorate to establish dominance over Alcremie as the better support mon. This whole battle got a few laughs out of me lol.
that battle was mind blowing... imagine if i got that lucky in this game that was a 1 in a million
Why am i just finding out about this. This is great!
Its a fun nuzlocke variant for sure! thanks for checking it out and glad you enjoyed the episode!
Honestly though the ches-lock is hype
@Sam-s2n9b it's been awesome doing this type of lock. Appreciate you checking the vid and this series out!
@ yo your welcome thanks for doing this even though It doesn’t look like it will give you success
It's niche for sure. But still enjoyable and I think that's most important
