I Was Shadow Banned at Neotropolis 2024. Here is my story:
For over 25 years, the character of Buckethead/Waterboy has been a part of my creative journey-bringing a blend of performance art, cosplay, and science to museums, events and “gatherings in the desert.” Last year, I had the opportunity to attend Neotropolis 2024 and perform as Buckethead, sharing my character with an incredible community of creators and participants.
The response was nothing short of amazing. The energy, joy, and support from the people who encountered Buckethead reaffirmed why I’ve kept this character alive all these years. However, the road to sharing Buckethead at Neotropolis wasn’t without challenges.
