House of the Dragon has many fascinating characters. Aemond Targaryen is one of them. In this video I am trying to analyze the character arc of Aemond Targaryen. From being bullied as a child to a formidable warrior. Aemond has come a long way. Still his brother, King Aegon II Targaryen never misses a chance to humiliate him in front of his friends. How long can Aemond keep his calm? He has som...

Aemond finally snaps just like Daenerys in the serie, Aegon took him the only comfort that he has of this pressure.
I loved this character very much and I am worried about the upcoming parts that they will kill her for example and she will go away. I do not want that. I want him to succeed and overcome everything that hurt him and have a piece of the good life to live. It is stupid to kill this important character in the upcoming seasons. I hope that it will not be😢
'The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.' This phrase is characterized as an African proverb, though the exact details of its origin are unknown. This perfectly encapsulates Aemond, I think. A well done example of the underdog who becomes the tyrant.
An apt proverb to summarize Aemond's character.
Poor handsome, privileged prince. His brother and nephews made fun of him for not having a dragon and he lost an eye because he grabbed a stone in a childish scuffle. Rarely has there been anyone with a harder fate 😢
What you are saying never ends. There is always someone worse than you no matter how rough you had it. This is no excuse for a kid of his age to not hate someone that took his eye and bullied him. Even after years later his bully laughed at him when they brought the pig to table. Aemond was justified with his lust for revenge
@@ausar3852 Almost everyone experiences bullying and humiliation in their life (mostly in childhood). This does not justify becoming a psychopathic murderer. Everyone has the choice to be a better person than the people who hurt them
@@theSLADEnews We all saw Aemond not wanting to kill the kid. He wanted to bully him in return not kill. Also you forget the situation they are in. Both factions were in the brink of war. Aemond knew kids death meaning the war so he played along. He is more complex than you guys make him out to be
He was the forgoten child by his father and mother. He was bullied for not having a dragon and thus being seen as lesser then his nephews and siblings. When he finnaly did claim a dragon in a show of courage his nephews surrounded him and attacked him cousing him to lose an eye. After that he had to endure playing second fiddle to an incompetent older brother that would as we see, still bully him. That isn’t a good life and I doubt anyone would be a healthy individual after all that.
Aemond strikes me as the scapegoat of the family who grew up as an overachiever to compensate. Then he rather became the kind of bully he was tormented by.
Who did he bully ? You may call him cruel but he didnt bully people. Giving his brother the ball was more of a threat than bullying
Aegon- daddy issues, Aemond- mommy issues... Aegon was a bully but his bullying had turned for the worse when he became King, he didn't want the throne but he was forced even by Aemond to take it...
Aemond= Daemon with some change in the letters as well. So that might reflect their characters as well.
I loved the scene, it was so unexpected but at the same time it makes sense: Aemond has nobody to talk about his feelings and obviously he's having quite a struggle to cope with several things. It's kinda understandable why he attacked his brother against Meleys and Rhaenys: to alicent, power is everything so she passed that value to her sons. Getting to be the king is the ultimate honour and accomplish so why would you not kill a bully to get the iron throne? Aegon was horrible to Aemond so did nothing to deserve his brother's love or loyalty
I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
@@ShowsWorthWatching I enjoyed indeed 😊 thanks for sharing this
Did aegon really bully him aside from that pig?
@@evripidisalexiou6060 yes, this all situation with the prostitute was even worse if you asked me 😕 it was very visible that Aemond was embarrassed and Aegon kept teasing him in front of other people. Aegon was not a supportive and loving brother at all so he can't complain about his brother lack of loyalty.
Love the video. I believe Madam Silvi (old enough to be his mother) was his mother's replacement (he has mother issues - Alicent was a horrible mother) and Alys Rivers (who also was old enough to be his mother) was too. A toxic relationship where he was looking for the love of hos mother.
Congratulations on the video! We live in a culture of such toxic masculinity that this pearl of seeing Aemond vulnerable was very little commented on. Thank you for your video, I really appreciate it!
Thank you.
Definitely the best episode Cuz!
The episode was BRUTAL until Mikey/John B showed up. Didn't care about Tina.
What directing was involved?
You had John B doing his thing as usual.
Wonderful episode!!
Indeed it was.
