80’s band soundcheck and show. Playing with lighting and tightening up FOH mix
Here’s a fun gig with a great 80s band performing at a local club for a private event. I think we had about 500 people in attendance.
Main speakers were McCauley AC 422, JBL SP 128. Midas M32, CVR power and DBX processed.

Wedding ceremony sound tips and tricks

Having a small PA like this is the backbone of any some company, these could be used for a video presentations, meetings, wedding ceremonies or just whatever. Couple of wireless mics, a mixer, couple speakers. It’s not very complex, but it really is the backbone of any sound company, and being flexible is key. Today were using an Alto TMX80DFX mixer, MiPro 302 dual wireless (handheld and lapel)...

      I don’t think reliability is the issue with his amplifiers, the issue is they don’t put out rated power at all. I’d strongly suggest like a CVR amplifier or something similar, the cost is greater but I think you’ll find it the correct power you’re looking for mains and subs.

      I’d really recommend a stinger power amp for what you’re doing. The amp specs aren’t correct, there is no way these amps put out 1150w per channel at 4 or 600 @ 8. Most likely that’s a peak rating and you should expect 300w @8, 575 @4. Also these amps don’t bridge and are not stable at 2ohm. That said they’re fine for light duty applications

    wait you still have I nukes still working in 2024 I passed that in 2019 and then swore off anything Beringer (again) after like 4, NX6000 failures in maybe a year and that was it no more Beringer crap. Had them for monitors at 8 ohm and had 2 go down on the same night, one came back for a week then went down again and it was only 7 months old. they used to be cheap enough that I didnt care but now they are in the price point of real amps so I went with QSC. I would go for Chinese amps before I buy another beringer POS anything.

    • @MrSamsstudios
      @MrSamsstudios 19 дней назад

      Sorry you’ve had failures. These I’ve had going on 8 years or so, no issues at all. I’ve got 4 for monitors and they just keep working. Eventually I’ll replace with CVR D654 but it’s not in the budget now. Mostly these are 8ohm/ch but I’ve driven them down to 2 on several channels no issues. But realistically the power output isn’t that high. I’d not trust the larger 2ch amps on mains though and it’s too mission critical

Anyway I’ve had 3 ;split between systems) for a few years only issue being tripping GFCIs on rainy days outdoors. Other PFC amps also do this (qsc PLD4.5 etc) so it’s about finding those issues before they arise

    You are using the driverack pa2 the wrong way. I don’t understand why you’re not using the high output. This is one of the reasons why sensitive equipment like this get damaged. All because of operator abuse. The proper way is to use separate amps for high and low speakers or separate amps for high, mid and low speakers for bigger sound.

    • @MrSamsstudios
      @MrSamsstudios Месяц назад

      Because high freq amplifiers are smaller and can’t handle the 100hz and up load required in a 2 way system

      @@MrSamsstudios There’s no such thing as “high frequency amplifiers “. All you have to do is buy amplifiers that have the recommended power rating for your high, mid and low speakers. Good idea. The DBX PA2 has a nice iPad interface which makes life easier. It can be confusing but as a basic crossover and brick wall limiter it’s great. I don’t use the compression or sub harmonic synth

    You've got downstage and upstage flipped my friend. Upstage is where your drums are (back of stage) downstage is where your vocals are (front of stage) this is because theatres used to have sloped stages pre-phantom of the opera era theatres. Over time, venues started to build with line of sight in mind for a flat stage. The labels stuck. Cool setup tho, all the best.

    Okay I’ve been trapped in the rabbit hole of digital mixers for weeks now! Can you please give me a straight up answer what tablet and operating system are you running with your X18

      I use mixing station for as many mixers as I can. iOS or android and I typically has 2 tablets running at all times for redundancy

    I've recently purchased two of the 25 ft. Used on one gig, so far so good. The lighted outlets actually worked well for allowing the musicians to know where to plug in their backline on stage. I will say, watch them on concrete. They do scuff up very easily

    I am wondering what type/brand cable tester you have. It's in the blue container. And a very useful tip: Always cut zip ties right after the part were that locks it. That way you have free re-usable zip ties. I am working on quad boxes myself but they will be 100% thick walled rubber housings. And those are a bitch to cut. Cabling will be done with Powercon so that length is easily adaptable to the situation and stage size. As for the lit sockets: Black electrical tape on the inside?

      There’s a few testers: Fluke 101 for electrical, Behringer Ebtek knockoff , EWI bug catcher, and Behringer CT200. There’s also a cheap one for capacitors and a homemade box for testing polarity of passive speakers
