My front and rear dash cams caught a truck tire bouncing up the northbound turnpike while I was driving south around 13a near Newark. In the original video blink and you miss it so I slow motioned it. Phone displays have a hard time displaying it. I created this video with the RUclips Video Editor (ruclips.net/user/editor)

I blew the woofer in my left channel "Classic" by University. A little demo of my system at the end. Video by my Galaxy s4. This doesn't IMHO reflect the sound but everyone seems to enjoy these kinds of videos. I don't recall seeing one of the internals so here goes. ..

Well it was fun. Always wanted a University Dean.
in another video there is an 8" full range coral mounted on its back loaded horn which has a deeper bass than this university speaker.. i think its called flat coral
You should have salsa with that chip-
I have a feeling that if you and I were neighbor we would have a fuckin blast!
Horrible! A rapist of music.
I clapped 👏 at home❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Love this guy
Nice! All paper capacitors and probably electrolytics and resistors (if they've gone bad) got to go, besides that it's a thing of beauty and a joy for ever. I'd love to work on one.
Just look at the board, there's almost nothing there... But it's made in You Ass Aye! :D You do Clive pretty nicely, but where's the schkematic? :)
Yeah and the blown up picture flipped. I'm not worthy!
@@fanplant nah, shit happens all over the place. Mine are not perfect either, and I hope it's pretty obvious I'm going the direction of Fran when making my videos. She's a huge inspiration of mine :)
@@KeritechElectronics Clive has said a few times not to worry and just make the video and I agree with him and just do it. Looking back some of mine are a tad long lol. I just try to be myself
@@fanplant that's good, perfectionism often kills it!
THANKS, BUT NO THANKS.
Ingénieuse transcription !
This is great!
Glad you are enjoying it. Now that I'm watching way more RUclips videos I wish I edited it for brevity.
The longer the showoff, the faster the fall
Shakey camera. Try decaf.
then it gets worse, lol!
A work of kinetic art!
0:55 Wait, wait. Is that a Cobreflex PA Horn I see in there?
That's the standard mid for a Classic with the t30 driver. The other drivers usually found on the Cobreflex horn don't work as well.
@@fanplant I was reading up on the Cobreflex recently and it seems that with the t-30 driver, it has quite a following in the hi-fi market. I am astounded that the Cobreflex has a 250 - 15k hz frequency response. I don't hear over 15k myself, so a Cobreflex teamed up with a horn loaded midbass would be fine for a high efficiency speaker system for me. I was looking into a high quality, hi efficiency sound system for my garage which didn't take much power to run at a decent volume level. Given that I have only one 15 amp circuit in my entire garage, I would be needing something under 50wpc. My backyard is long so that dictates a horn loaded system. The best speaker for the job would be an Altec A7 VOTT speaker, but that is VERY expensive...unless you find one without a top horn...which I did. So that is what was leading me to find a suitable top horn. Naturally I was looking into appropriate VOTT Altec horns, but they are very expensive. It wasn't until I came across an article (after making the post above) that mentioned several fellows at Audio Karma say that they liked the sound of the Cobreflex horn over the original Altec horn. So that had me doing a ?!?! And so my research on the Cobreflex continues. But given to the size of the Cobreflex compared to some horns, it does seem like it is a promising candidate for good sound. BTW, two days ago, I ended up buying a new Cobreflex horn to try out, but it doesn't come with a driver. So now I have to get a T-30 driver. EV does have a T-30 knock off, but it doesn't have the frequency range of the original.
@@jukingeo I think you were confusing speaker efficiency with amplifier needs and many amplifiers draw way less than 15 amps at 120 volts and still make plenty of power. High efficient speakers come from the days of tubes and wattage was expensive. Also when using efficient speakers it's the first clean 5 watts that count.
@@fanplant Nope, I understand speaker efficiency very well. I have been an audio tech for many years. What I was getting at is that 15 amps is for the whole garage, so that is lighting and equipment too. So by right the AVAILABLE power for an amplifier that I could use is about 5 to 6 amps.
@@jukingeo well I do a little trick and play my classics off an ipod. No amp or anything. They aren't incredibly loud of the ipod but they're playing. Also those cheap tripath chip amplifiers work nicely. The Classics have an efficiency similar to the K-horn.
Femplant? Femboy plant?
whats missing on the top end is abundant from the rear port
What is eaten would determine the low end response then? So I would say cabbage and Taco Bell could get down pretty low, properly reaching resonance. Aiming the port into a corner would yield ample amplification which could possibly rattle a window or two. You would need a fan too, but not for air cooling, but for removing the resulting envelope of noctious fumes from the room.
I see what you did there RG, lol, sorry I took a year to respond
your rear port is out
I think he scared the shit outta everyone of them at 4:35
Wait!!!! I thought you can't play a song on RUclips because of copyright issues, did this video slip through? Oh well great cabinets.
yeah it got a copyright flag a little while ago, oh well.
@@fanplant Oh you did? I had gotten one from a company that said you COULD use their video clips. Initially I thought I was flagged for the sound, but it was for the video. So I got back to them and it turned out that they didn't like the fact that I overdubbed their audio track, which misrepresented their product. I told them to "f" off anyway and I will not buy products from them anymore.
Eminence Kappa 15C will make for improved performance especially at about 400 Hz where it will be up about 3db verses the University woofer.
(Avert your eyes at 30:30.... Plumbers butt!!)
Sanjay Frank I'm so so sorry! I never thought to look. Frankly I was torn between pinning your comment, removing your comment, or the whole video lol. But pinned it is. Thanks again.
@@fanplant I think we can handle plumbers butt! If Fanplant was twerking, it might be a different story!
great basshorn - models well with lower Qts 15 inch speakers (back chamber size can be reduced in some cases for a flatter passband) I have a scaled down version loaded with a 10" Eminence. A 12" scaled model would be an excellent midbass horn with B&C 12pe32 or perhaps Kappa12a and keep size pretty small (then add tapped horn/pipe subwoofer for the lower octaves). I assume it sounds more open than say "La Scala".
I have a pair of University "Deans". Larger cabinets with cut -off corners. Fabulous sounding. Has "green" C15W woofers, cobra T-30 mids and HF-206 tweeters with N2 Crossovers.
Which model are your crossovers? Have you changed out the caps?
I made my own N3 clones. The inductors are pretty lightweight in the university stuff. Not that that matters to much at the wattage we use.
Are the speakers clones as well? Mine are originals from the early 1960's, they were my Dads. Running a 50 wpc class A YBA Integre DT amplifier. Nine- 10 o'clock is comfortable listening volume. My 2nd system is Klipsch Hereseys with a 32 watt Class A tube amp. Nice sounding set-up but the Deans have so much more presence. Very musical.
Mine are copies. Factory cabinets are easily identified with less blocking and less screws.
N2 crossovers, yes the caps have been changed. I have a spare set if you are interested.
It's a great idea Carpenter is definetely a great organist and it sounds nice, but in my opinion it really is not an adaptation of the original piece. If one , for instance, takes a look at 3:05 : The scared child is ways more silence than the father, and in my opinion it should be vice versa. The child should be the one screaming and the father the one calming him down, but it more sounds like the father wants to chill him by yelling at thim... But overall a very nice performance :)
So is this an illegal entry ?
No not at all, lol. Sorry
Thought you might have sneaked in,lol. Where is this lift station anyway?
die Idee ist gut, aber die Adaptation ist grausig, sorry!!
Agree. Doesn't work as adapted here, sorry, too.
It’s a gruesome story
Brilliant! I'd listen to this a thousand times and still listen one time more!
The link for the organ in the description no longer works. For those who are interested, try this,instead.www.nycago.org/Organs/NYC/html/StVincentFerrer.html
awesome but scary in a strange way
Show the face of the thief! Boo hiss!
Im a mechanical fitter for a water company, that pumps a decent size like, what dia rising main?
sorry seven years late. the pipe was maybe 24" . You can see the bolted flanges and motorized gate valve and stem if you pause the vid. Sorry I shook so much
Carpenter's playing in an another realm - I have heard him six times playing the International Touring Organ, and I must say I have never been disappointed. He takes much liberty with tempi and changes notes occasionally, but this is what an artistic genius does. The fast tempo he uses pushes pipe instruments very hard, which is why I think he is best heard on his own instrument, a true digital masterpiece by Marshall & Ogletree,
Cameron's dream has come true! The International Touring Organ (ITO) is touring its way around the world and into the hearts and minds of many.
your welcome. Its time to skim that one again. Supposedly skimming is only really needed when piping or boiler is new but it's surging again. This boiler never gets a drop taken from it because it has a electronic sensor stuck directly into the boiler and no way to drain except the hose bibs on the bottom of the boiler. This year i'm installing a valve and pipe permanently to a bucket. Also I'll paint the inside of a tee white so I can inspect the stream of water coming out.
This helped a lot, I was adding water too fast and not really "skimming". Thank you !
don't want to sound rude but I can't say where. The sump pumps pump poop. Yea you don't want to have a sense of smell. The blowers make air to bubble the poop to help break it down. It's all about lots of poop...
really terrible!
normandevalois sarcasm? Better be
@@midnightmusic1087 i agree in this case, yes he can play well but i truly hate how he plays he doesn't always play what the composer meant
This is so tonally different from the "Live" performance on the Wurlitzer. I'm glad this was saved. Cameron is the future of the pipe/virtual organ, and this performance is nothing short of sheer genius!!
hahah .
I had a Mamod engine from around 1983, it's the same configuration but a little larger cant remember the model but it was fun to play with and I used it to power lego tecknic creations :D
YOU SHOULD HAVE PUT SOME "SQUICK" IN THE BOILER FIRST...
Sorry, I sold it. I'm more of a VOTT and University fan...
@fanplant try to use a motor of an electric helicopter like Gyrocopter. These motors have an very high rpm @ low voltage/amps. Only disadvantage is the noise it produce. I tested it on my TEG I'm building, but didn't used it because of the noise. I now use an old PC fan rated 12V but starts @ 4Volts and stops @ around 3Volts.
I used Radio Shack Lead-Free Solder Catalog #: 64-026 electronics solder and a small butane pencil torch. I'm quite positive that there are better ways to do it but it worked well for me. I got the work hot enough to take the solder and got lucky. Ive used the same torch to solder 1/4*20 nuts to tin cans for tripod mounted wi-fi cantennas and it hold quite well. Keep a steady hand and practice on something and the usual "I'm not responsible" applies. Send a video when you finish :)
hi, could you tell me what solder you used as i have the same problem with my minor 1 as well. thanks.
Apparently it has interior graphics I saw on amazon. But I'll never see them NRFB, I have to have something to pass on to my family.
