Yeah, Sebastian and Derek are nothing alike, well except they are both charismatic and great at running a gaming hell. I don't even know if they'd get along.

Cam's book is actually the first book of the Hathaways series which takes place soon after this one. Ravenels is about the next generation of the Wallflowers so it's more than twenty years in the future.

Sebastian is the villain of It Happened One Autumn for sure but there are circumstances that mitigate his guilt a little. For one thing he wasn't actually the person who plotted the whole kidnapping. Someone else (I won't say who to avoid spoilers) drugged and bound Lillian and basically offered her to Sebastian and he decided to carry her off to Gretna Green. Secondly he didn't really know there was any real depth of feeling between Marcus and Lillian. All anyone knew about their engagement was that Lillian had been compromised and a wedding was the honorable solution. In fact even Marcus and Lillian weren't honest about their feelings yet. And Lillian had been seriously considering St Vincent as a candidate for marriage to the point that they had at least one scene discussing it and they kissed as well. So it depends whether or not you think this is enough in addition to his character arc in Devil in Winter to reform him sufficiently. It worked for me and many other readers but there is a substantial group of readers who didn't buy it and don't like Sebastian or this book. I'm glad that it did work for me because Sebastian plays some part in The Hathaways series and an important role in the Ravenels series which includes the stories of Sebastian's and Evie's children. It's kind of astonishing how thoroughly he was reformed by then.

As a romance girly, I'm so glad I found your channel from your review of one of my favourite Lisa Keypas books, devil in winter. With the brown sisters, my favourite is without a doubt the first one/Chloe's book. I wanted to like all 3 but I had to force myself to finish Eve's and I couldn't get into Dani's at all😢. Funny thing is, I was most excited for Eve's because she's me, I'm Eve, I'm literally 26 and have the exact story as hers when it comes to career and all that, but I unfortunately didn't like the book. I only listen to audiobooks because of dyslexia and loved the narrator of Chloe's book, the change of narrators also played a role in me liking the first one. I wanted to like them so bad I even tried to read Eve's book, bad idea😂😂.

We are so glad you found our podcast! I personally haven't read Chloe's book yet but I will have to add that to my TBR again! The narrators of audiobooks make such a difference! We wait to see reviews before we try an audiobook because some are SO bad! - Ayesha

I think you get a lot more from this whole series, on a re-read. The first section of Heartsong now makes perfect sense and is a lot more enjoyable the second time round.

    1. You should've started with Warlord Wants Forever 2. This is the most non-con in the series so I understand if it's not for you 3. Emma's growth was the entire point of her character I didnt like her at first either but you're not exactly supposed to. You get hints of her true self when she interacts with the humans in the hotel and while she's hangry. And she grew stronger from his blood because she was drinking from a powerful immortal over 1000 years old. 4. Would love a little less plot regurgitation and more discussion. Or at least a more concrete plot regurgitation from notes.

Thanks for your feedback! We did try another book in the series, we did book 4 Dark Needs at Night's Edge in our 5th episode. We completely agree with more discussion less regurgitation in our episodes, it's something we have changed as we have progressed and our new episodes have significantly more discussion and less plot rehashing.
