I saw this kit in my local hobby shop today, and was very tempted because of how awesome it looks. I'm glad I decided to look up reviews and came across your video. The build looks a bit too involved and the quality a bit lacking for such an expensive piece.
I don't have the 1/100 ver. But my friend who owns one said 1/100 was troublesome to assemble, it also requires battery instead. The snapfit is worse cause the kit is old. But it's quite a challenge you'd like to take as a builder.
It is not impossible but maybe a bit too complicated because those parts that content the LEDs are seperated, you need to connect them all together and therefore you need to keep the kit in a specific form. I'm not good at leds & wires, not so sure about it :))
This was a really well done video, it sucks that nobody else covers the issues but its understandable considering the workload. Good job! How would you compare the difficulty to past mechanicore kits/rodam and do you still need to use super glue for it? Hopefully you make another video like this for mechanicore firehawk if you plan on getting it (also my bad for posting this comment on the wrong video 😅)
I used very little glued on this kit actually. About 1/3 amount for the similar kit. I did pre-order the Firehawk. Looking forward to it too :) thanks for your comments
@@donnietd good to know! Hopefully they improve enough to make their kits snap build but it definitely won't be when firehawk releases. Do you think you'll cover the topic on LEDs and the difficulty of it since that was one of the main appeals for me with firehawk
@@epistarter1136 Mechanicore has been around over 10 years ago, snapfit problem is their specialty :)) You'll need to work on their issues to complete the built, that's what makes Mechanicore & other 3rd parties brands different from Bandai. I just love the time spending fixing the issues. It took me about a week, 4-5 hours/day to finish this kit. I'm sure when the firehawk comes out I'll make a video for it and all the issues from it as well. thanks
@@donnietd I wish I loved spending time fixing issues too lol. Crazy that you finished it in a week but it makes firehawk feel less daunting as a somewhat beginner builder. Do you use electric tools or just a lot of sanding paper and metal files? Hopefully I can just use one superglue because they're a bit expensive 😂 Edit: also how'd you go that fast to build it
How much does this amazingly beautiful nightmare cost Does this gigantic abomination of the Dendrobium come with the Full Burner/stamen Gundam, or would I need to purchase the kit as well?? I wonder if my 1/60 Daban nu will fit..
I saw this kit available and was curious about mechanicore kits. Was there any other fittment issues or anything else that was loose? I love the GP01 design, and since the PG is hard to find and no news of a MG 2.0. It looks like this may be the one to potentially pick up.
Do you know what the design changes were from the 1/100 version? Did they change the led to be on a single circuit, or are they all separate still? Does it have any articulation outside the elbows?
The LEDs are now can be lit by usd, no more batteries. The articulations are only on the arms & legs. I don't have the 1/100 version, but this one has more details from what I see.

I saw a clear version of this same kit at a local hobby shop for $150. Is that reasonable? Should I get it?
