United Nations On The March - United Nations March [LYRICS]
The song, entitled "United Nations on the March", actually predates the establishment of the United Nations political body by two years, but not the Declaration by United Nations which was made on 1 January 1942. The song used music by Dmitri Shostakovich from his famous "Song of the Counterplan" (the title song for the 1932 movie Counterplan), but an English-language text had nothing to do with the original Russian lyrics. Due to misinterpretation of the name of the song's American version, some popular Russian media reported that Shostakovich composed "the official UN Anthem".

This march was composed by Albert E. Kelly for the 1948 Kneller Hall March Contest. With the 4/7th Dragoon Guards Kelly took part into the landing in Normandy on D-Day, June the 6th, 1944; actually he was injured himself at the end of July. 'ARROMANCHES' is a suiting tribute to the heroes of the Allied landings at Arromanches.

The quick march of the newly created RAMS, after the amalgamation of the RAMC, RADC and QARANC. Such a shame that the RAMC had to be amalgamated, but hopefully the RAMS will do greatly in the future.
