Romans 4:5; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Ephesians 1:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:14
me and my best friends are doing this as a cuartet for our states solo and ensemble peice
I sang this in my high school choir over 25 years ago and the melody still haunts me. This is a beautiful rendition!!
It is gratifying to hear from some of the listeners how this melody has touched lives. How generous of you to share the special way your personal attraction to this very haunting and uplifting music echoes after so many years. It haunts me too. And of course I will pass your kind remarks to the Tempus director Brian Turnbull and accompanist Jane Wamsley who toured Europe with the choir this summer to perform in Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Saltzburg, Dresden and other places. Next Sunday the choir is joining the Toronto performance hosted by the Australian touring Brisbane Concert Choir. Yes, Music brings people together with common a bond better than any other means I know of, and deepens our memories of special places and times.
Thank you so much! How exciting that they are still touring a performing!
This song is so beautiful. I love it
This is absolutely beautiful! I wish I were Canadian.
Well done. Love it. Not sure why this is not Canada's national anthem. I think it is...
We're singing this for our high school concert choir! LOL :)
Good to hear that the performances of this song continue - Enjoy the experience - feel the gentle slow rocking of the sea - bring courage and joy - if your own choral performance communicates as joyfully as your smile, it will be a great audience-pleaser - - Looking forward to hearing it if your choir decides to post the song
This is an iconic song done by a Canadian Icon. In spite of his age, he has been invited to appear at Canada's sesquicentenial (150 year anniversary) celebration on July 1st. I hope he will do this song again like he did for the Centennial in 1967.
GORDY 💖
I'm not a huge railroad train enthusiast, but I do love this video and this song. Who better to write about the Canadian Railroad than Gordon Lightfoot? Who's singing? :)
Jason Carpp all those it's not Gordon it's just saying this is how we became Canada
What?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Railroad_Trilogy its definitely not Gordon Lightfoot, Gordon's original version was fantastic and perfect.
From the description: "... music delivered to you by the Tempus Choral Society from their "Ovations" CD."
I'm singing this in symphonic choir 💖
I'm singing this in woman' s Ensemble
god is wonderful
singing this for middle school woman's choir tonight
This piece is in our men's chorus (TTBB) repertoire. The Diane Loomer arrangement includes a solid bass line down to E2 and a two measure F2 coda. Very nice.
Literally the only thing wrong with this is it sounds very spread and they close their R's a bit too soon. Other than that, beautiful
When ever I hear or sing this song tears come.
Oh my goodness me too!! And the 4 part choir! I get chills(: When I was 17, we sang this in my high school Choral class. My favorite song ever!!
I'm singing this for MPA this year! It is beautiful.... :>
Kayla how did you do?
WOW! I remember singing this with the collage choir when we went to Canada...This brings back so many memories of that!. Thanks for the upload!
Thanks for your kind words. I remember arriving at the recording session to find that we were 2 bass singers, and I was a neophyte at choir and never recorded. I begged the music director to cancel this piece with its vital off-cadence bass lines - I was almost singing solo. He looked at me and said, George, the show must go on - sing louder together.it will be beautiful. We did and he later confided that he was so satisfied with the vocal blend and asked that the recording go out unedited.
Wow! That was beautiful. The voices are so well balanced and blended.
Love it!
It is very soothing, I am doing it in concert choir next month.
This song is too beautiful
Thank you so much for this beautiful song and video, giving all glory to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus the Christ. MAJESTY, Worship His Majesty! God Bless you! \o/
