ITS NOT ALWAYS EASY! ELK SHED HUNT 2024 EP. 2
Follow along on this elk shed hunt. I put in four half days of hiking and about 25 miles of hiking in the mountains in search of elk sheds and maybe a bonus turkey. This was a fun one but it was also a struggle many miles and very little sleep for days and days but it all payed off when I found this little pocket of elk sheds. Everyday in the mountains is a good day. Thanks for watching!

What backpack is that?
That is a mystery ranch beartooth 80 pack.
Hello, new hunter in WA. Not to familiar on places to go here. Would you recommend any places?
The best thing you could do is download onx maps or gohunt maps and find some public land and e scout. I do it weekly all year long looking at maps and satellite imagery trying to find that sweet spot and once you do get a few spots marked on the map then boots on the ground scouting to check out the spots you e scouted is the best bet! We have so much public land here in Washington there is lots of options.
Like 39 here from Mr. Garry and Newfoundland Canada. We have Moose, Caribou and black bears. Lots of small game too!
Awesome!!
Got to work on squeezing that trigger my man!! Nice work
I was wondering if I you know anything about unit 356 ( bumping)for mule?
I've never hunted it before so cant say that I do.
That’s an awesome video. What’s the right time of year to do this?
Spring time is best! Usually march through May for us but you can get them all year long!
Way to get-Er done!
@@anglingaquatics4107 thank you!!!
Holy good grief!! Don't know how far out you'll was,but I hope you put a stock on that fricken toad!!
@ottisfarrisprospecting105 we packed in for a couple nights after spotting him just trying to turn him up again but never could! Only got to watch him for a minute or two wish we could have had longer to check him out better but he slipped off and disappeared never to be seen again!
"Hes hit good" proceeds to run 400 yds...."i cant see him" takes 30 seconds to reload. At least yall got expensive gear!
@tolt1776 thanks for the support!
Can the G-36 use rechargeable lithium batteries? Some cameras can't.
Like rechargeable AA'S? they can but it's not recommended from what i can remember. However they make a specific lithium rechargeable battery pack just for the Flex series cameras.
@@NWPURSUITrechargeable batteries are NOT recommended and using them, will VOID to warranty. Use regular “AAs” or purchase the power pack!
No one has patience anymore. Cuz if u only seen 3 bulls that r shed why not leave them be? Shed hunters that have only been doin this will never know what it was like 15+ years ago. Not tryin to be a dick but ppl woukd find more if they would just let them be and let them all drop. But its now a rat race. We never used to start walkin the begining of march. We waited till the middle of april and we would pick up a pile. But that was when u never saw anyone else out doin it... i hope we can all continue to shed hunt for years to come but man after a $ amount was put on them we will watch it go to shit...
Unfortunately it's not the good old days anymore. We picked 15 sheds as a group in one drainage in 3 hours so there was alot more sheds bulls than what we saw. We also dont push in on bulls until they leave the area. We use the visuals of bulls to determine an elevation to target that's usually lower below the bulls since all these bulls are rapidly headed up mountain. Nobody within my group has ever sold a single shed so we're not doing it for the money. Unfortunately the areas we go are filled with other guys everywhere you look hopfully they are also respecting the wildlife and waiting till the elk move on as well.
@NWPURSUIT wasn't trying to bash u per say. And that shows good on ur part. There's always a POS that gets shed hunters a bad rap. I've picked up more trash in my spots now then I do sheds. Not to mention more dead animals... I'm in the same state as u so u see alot of what I see I'm sure. Lots of ppl sneak into the closed feeding stations. Again not trying to bash ya. I hurd the only 3 shed and then you just found a couple. It's just frustrating for me to see the changes that aren't good for the elk. But our game department wears there ass for a hat so that don't help, plus the natives, plus the poachers. But I will give u one piece of advice I learned the hard way, is dont show anyone new to shed hunting any of ur spots. They will ruin them in a heartbeat. Looks like u got a good honey hole so keep it cherished and secret. One of my favorite spots was ruined cuz I took my brother-in-law... so be careful, and good luck.

I thought so too until I got them side by side! Will do! ❤️
Awesome Chris! I need to find a brown town lol. Great video dude!
There's a few hiding out there! Thanks man! 🤘🤘
Glad y'all got it done in the end. We all make mistakes, but especially if you're going to put it on the internet, you need to own them. As a bear hunter myself, I'm keenly aware that the more poor practice and unethical shots that get broadcasted to the public, the less likely we all are to maintain our hunting privileges (especially in Washington State). Shooting at any big game animal facing straight away from you is NEVER acceptable. I'm thankful it was clean miss; I shudder to think of the mess you would have made otherwise.
Unfortunately I wasn't the one shooting so I can't speak on the decisions made.
Big man slaying it! Making me feel like a chump 😂
You guys just pulled some solid horns too!
Were u at
Haha you know the spot!
Can’t wait to watch the full video 🔥
Coming soon!
What elevation!!!????
We found sheds from 3500- 5000
The Elk (Cervus canadensis), also known as the wapiti is a large deer species native to North America and Eastern Asia, it is the largest of the six extant deer species constituting the genus Cervus and the second largest deer species alive today, with only the Moose (Alces alces) being larger, the closest living relative of the elk is the Hangul (Cervus hanglu) that resides in Central Asia, there are fifteen known subspecies of elk: the Tibetan Elk (Cervus canadensis wallichii), the Kansu Elk (Cervus canadensis kansuensis), the Sichuan Elk (Cervus canadensis macneilli), the Mongolian Elk (Cervus canadensis mongoliensis), the Alashan Elk (Cervus canadensis alashanicus), the Tian Shan Elk (Cervus canadensis songaricus), the Manchurian Elk (Cervus canadensis xanthopygus), the †Korean Elk (Cervus canadensis coreanus), the Siberian Elk (Cervus canadensis sibiricus), the Roosevelt Elk (Cervus canadensis roosevelti), the Rocky Mountain Elk (Cervus canadensis nelsoni), the Tule Elk (Cervus canadensis nannodes), the †Merriam's Elk (Cervus canadensis merriami), the Manitoba Elk (Cervus canadensis manitobensis), and the †Algonquin Elk (Cervus canadensis canadensis).

I have 4 micro LTE cameras. Has anyone ever used rechargeable batteries in them? Im sure the S.P. company will say not to because they're in bed with the battery companys, but i know there are some hard headed folks out there who have tried rechargeable.
I have used the rechargeable lithium battery packs that spypoint sells. But i have never used AA rechargeable batteries in a camera before. As you said I'm sure some people have and hopfully someone chimes in with some info.
@@NWPURSUIT cool, thanks!
I use LIFe 6 volt batteries. They last a long time.
👍👍
Sweet!
WTF??? I HAVE ONLY LIVED HERE FOR 3 YEARS BUT WHEN DID THEY STOP ALLOWING COWS TO BE HARVESTED? OR IS IT DIFFERENT REGS BY EASTERN & WESTERN? NOW I AM CONFUSED. EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER READ IN THE REG BOOK MADE NO MENTION OF A COW ELK HUNT, JUST BULLS OF ANY SIZE. THIS STATE IS SOO BAD, ITS MORE FUCKED UP, BACKWARDS & CONFUSING THAN CALIFORNISTAN! THIS IS WHY PEOPLE POACH, THE REGS MAKE NO LOGICAL SENSE & ITS CHEAPER, EASIER & FAR MORE CONVINIENT TO HUNT WITHOUT BS PERMISSION. JUST BUY A CHEAP BEATER TRUCK & BOW & HUNT WHENEVER YOU WANT! IF THEY CATCH YOU & TOW OR CONFISCATE THEM, YOU ARENT OUT MUCH INVESTMENT & ITS EASY AF TO MAKE IT BACK WITH ANOTHER HUNT OR 2 & SELL SOME MEAT. THE SYSTEM IS SOOO FLAWED & WORTHLESS. JUST HUNT SILENT & IN AREAS YOU KNOW THEY NEVER LOOK.
It's been a few years now but yeah nothings simple about our regulations here
Cool review! Please leave your contact info we would be happy to discuss potential collaboration
Great hunt.
Thank you!
