Fairbank PS is pleased to present our very own channel showcasing the musical work of our talented students! Our ever-evolving music program at Fairbank continues to incorporate all facets of music learning - instrumentation, vocal coaching, songwriting, theory, recording, arrangement, ear training, composition, improvisation, and performance. Our goal is to inspire our students' music-making to be an integral part of their lifelong learning goals.

Two Gr 8 soloists and the entire Gr 6-8 Intermediate Choir sing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at our Remembrance Day assembly on November 11, 2024, along with The Fairbank Rock Band playing bass, drums, lead and rhythm guitars.

Our first LIVE Concert Band performance at a public venue features 36 students from Gr 4-8 (ages 9-13). At various levels of musicianship, some students have been playing for 5 years and others have only been playing for as little as 3 months! "Concerto No. 5 in D major" for violin & orchestra at the Toronto Kiwanis Festival

Our students compete against other young musicians from the GTA in the Toronto Kiwanis Festival on February 22, 2024. This performance took place during the Gr 5 Violin Concerto Class in the Art Gallery at the Chinese Cultural Centre. Their choice of work was a Seitz concerto for solo violin and orchestral accompaniment on piano. Bravo!

At our Teamwork character assembly, 2 of our accomplished violin & piano students in Gr 8 and Gr 6 respectively perform Seitz' Concerto in D major, 3rd mvmt, in preparation for their entry into the Toronto Kiwanis Festival competition coming up on February 22, 2024 at the Chinese Cultural Centre in Scarborough.
