It took me a while to understand this episode. Buffy comes out of concern for Angel, she gets to LA she comes down to Angel's apartment to see what looked like an embrace. Buffy had the right feelings after everything that Faith did to her in Sunnydale, but at the same time.... Angel wasn't just simply defending Faith, Faith needed help and friendship from someone who could truly understand her and what she's going through Buffy Giles in the Scooby gang could not provide that for her. Angel was the only one who could provide her help and advocate for her. Angel was completely right, he was fighting to save her soul. The situation was bigger than what Buffy went through even though what she went through with Faith was horrifying and traumatizing. But at the end of the day Faith is a Slayer that lost her way and went down a rough path and had a lot of rough upbringing but she finally had a friend in Angel who could understand her and help her and that he did. He did help her get herself together and because Angel did this for her, when it was time for her to come out of prison and help team Angel and then return to Sunnyvale and help Buffy and The Scooby Gang, Faith was able to return.

Ff2 is one of my favorites in the series. Its so dark and gloomy being about war.

Amy Acker is so goddamn criminally underrated. It would have been so easy to overplay this character, to both extremes in terms of her being too overtly chilling or going too far into the playful. She finds this delicious balance and it’s absolutely captivating. Obviously the dialogue she gets to play with here is really rather exceptional, but there’s plenty of examples throughout tv and film of great scripts being wasted on mediocre performances. Root feels as alive and real as anything in these scenes (as is always the case with Acker) that you’re not separating script from performance. It’s this really electric cohesion. God I miss this show and particularly the characters of Root and Shaw (and Amy and Sarah’s performances).

So you gonna tell me that when Angel said we were attacked; Buffy didn't notice the dead demon carcass that whole time? If Buffy would've saw the dead demon that would've helped a bit

Show's been at its best with weird little character moments like that. A dead and revived Old One sitting with her jailor, musing about how the video game they play resembles their existence

Watching this I agree with Buffy when it comes to Faith because I'm sorry Faith was so demonic so much so that she slept with Buffy's boyfriend. And then she was trying to come after Angel?

When I was young I was so mad that angel hit her butt watching this as an adult Buffy had it coming

Its so funny because obviously these were different times where men hitting women back was frowned upon but cowardice but in today's day and age its perfectly justified because she was about to whoop his 🍑 😂

Granted, I never watched this show, but this seems like it could be a scene that was supposed to go another way and the actress accidentally got hit and they just left this in there, with great results.
