As if there’s going to be a different experience going from low to high without stopping the drivetrain rotating assembly then we will just drop it in park. when the 1.0 engines came out my shop foreman wanted to see if i could take one out the top on a focus. I did but man when I tried to stab the engine back into the transmission it was hell. Never again out the top. Good job. Try taking off the cowl. The wipers when you take the nut off you should be able to bounce them on the hinge and they pop off without a puller. Then the cowl is pretty simple. should give you a few more inches going back in

Great job Pete! On the GM (Grenade Makers) designed SAABs you were supposed to drop the whole drivetrain out the bottom utilizing a roll around cradle. I went to work for one of our former technicians who opened his own shop. He didn't have the cradle. I was able to pull a V6 engine out the top for an engine swap.

    • @petescustomcarshop

I always pull them out the top if possible. I'm not sure if this one you are supposed to drop the whole thing out the bottom or not but I have done some that were supposed to be out the bottom through the top before. I know I did some Cadillac Northstar engines and I had to remove everything out the bottom, I would just set the subframe on jack stands and lift the car up. Thanks for watching.
