Just got back into the show, and doing my yearly Grimm lore research lol
Tbh I thought grimes are a specific vesin like a reaper not sure the series every explained what vesen see when nick looks at them 😮
Yeah unfortunately it is never confirmed what exactly grimms are, but they did explain what Wesen see while woged and see Nick 🙂 It was in Season 03 Episode 17, to them, Nicks eyes are completely black and they see their true selves reflected back at them. "Very unsettling, took me a while to get used to" I believe Rosalee said about it 🙂

It seems to me that Grimms are the slayers of their universe. I think that it would be cool if Grimms and Slayers were the same thing and existed in the same universe. Wesen would call them Grimms while vampires would call them slayers.

No. Were they good. Or are they more like the Buffy the vampire slayer and Angel spin off books in general from penguin or pocket books. I found they didn't. In general live up to the quality of the series, respectively.

unfortunately no, although I've been meaning to read the books for ages! Have you read them, would you recommend?
An alternate explanation for Grimms is magic. We know a form of it exists. They could be early human magic using herbs and such to see and fight Wesen. Only strong warriors would be chosen for these rituals.
I love this theory heaps! Although I'm more on the side that Hexenbiests were the ones that created Grimms, trying to combine wesen abilities together to make an ultimate beast to serve them. resulting in the first grimm, which eventually rebelled. starting the inevitable hatred between grimms and hexen/zalberbiests :)
there is also the possibility that they are a form of Wesen just were the others are basided on aminals the grimms are based on humans
We really miss the GRIMM series. I wish they would have gone on with the series. They could have made a new series called, "GRIMM THE NEXT GENERATION." Other shows do that. I hope that someone from that show sees this comment and decides to get the actors from the original show and discuss about making a new series called, "GRIMM THE NEXT GENERATION." I would love to see that happen. All those who agree with me would you please say, "YES." Thank you. I forgot to mention that you can buy the whole series on DVD. I think it's at Walmart but I'm not sure.
I’ve only done a little bit of research into what they could potentially be, but my fan theory would be this. I think they are an offshoot of Wesson. Maybe some type. Which is why they can see them. And evolution are offshoot nature created as a necessity for checks and balances.
They could be a branch of Royals. There's really not much difference, so it could be a caste thing of nobility and knights. Grimm were also known to work for Royal families.
@@bryanwoods3373 maybe the Royals had them created in the distant past as a way to control or eliminate Weson.
I think they are the “human” wesen, since humans hunt everything.

Was it ever actually confirmed that Kelly Schade-Burkhardt was a Grimm? I know him and Diana went on a hunt with the triplets at the very end of the series but still...
Obviously Kelly was, if he wasn't a hexanbeast then he's a grimm, but Dianne is just a hexanbeast
@@xjizzy Actually it isn't obvious. You forget that not everyone in a Grimm family becomes a Grimm. He probably was but as I said it was never confirmed.
I always thought that Kelly was a Grimm like his dad. Diana is half Hexenbiest and half Zieberbeist

12-26-2023 at 5-pm. I truly miss the Grimm series. I’m a huge fan and I wish they would at least show re-runs on t.v.. I miss watching it on Friday night at 7pm. Can we get it back on? Grimm fans

OK, so my personal fan theory. Grim art Wesson. Nobody realizes it though. In the beginning Weston started to evolve grim also evolved side-by-side. But instead of turning into some animal it became an evolution advanced human. This is why he can see other Wesson, just like they can see each other. And maybe Nick is slightly different as he’s prone to evolution. And all the things that have happened to him has caused him to evolve making the next generation of Grimm that come from him more effective and more powerful, and because of who he is innately maybe even more merciful. Maybe if the show is revived as there has been talk about, and much of the original cast comes back Nick can become a Grand Grimm, the first of its kind. Sergeant Wu can evolve and maybe even hank, can find a way to become a Grimm maybe through blood transfusion from neck and it turns out Hank is a defunct line of Grimms.
Weird how early on the wesens eyes turned black, then they switched it to Nick
I think it's less their eyes turning black and more a reflection of Nick's eyes in theirs. Grimm eyes turn entirely black when looking at Wessen, as Monroe describes it "Deep down to your soul pitch black"

"Kill them for just existing." So what you're saying, as most Wesen believe, most Grimm's are racist and evil!
The Wesens were never bothered themselves about their own carnivorous nature. If they wanted kill and eat humans or each other, they did it. ITO this is the law of nature. Grimms are the old fashioned knights with a full armory, to prevent the human civilization falling to chaos, at any cost, including the wesens' extinction.
@@booth11201 So You mean to say that Grimms are some kind of Super Humans with Different Abilities to counter The Wessens Who are Threat to Humans.
@@ethanhunt7651 They're certainly have heightened instincts, speed, and strength, but not quite to the Super Human level. It's more like above average, but still within the realm of human possibility except in rare cases like Nick's where other factors come into play.
I'm embarrassed to admit it but this is one of my favorite shows of all time. I could rewatch this infinitely, but I cringe when having to explain the concept of it to anyone.

the most ironic part of the series is that nick being raised not as a grimm was what made him better than the grimm who came before.
I don't get this. Wouldn't he have more experience and skill if he started at an early age? Haven't watched thr show in a long time and I forgot if it was ever explained why he's just realizing his power at an adult age and not before.

I loved that there was so mystery in the show amidst a deep lore and history that slowly gets revealed to us
2:58 I know this is way too late, but I remember in the bank heist episode, when Monroe, Hank, and Nick went back to the trailer, Monroe said “…you think those were witches that they were burning…a bunch of knuckleheads like in the bank today got that ball rolling and for hundreds of years, there was hell to pay.”
Good job dude, summed it up pretty nicely. This is one of my top 5 shows.
Back then I always thought that Grimm is a Moster also but they’re basically at the end just humans with some Powers
