I'm a Cult Hero - Cult Hero - Robert Smith - The Cure - 45 RPM Record - UK Release 1980
In 1979 Robert Smith was testing new members of "The Cure" before making their most successful album "Seventeen Seconds" in 1980. He named the temporary band "Cult Hero". "I'm A Cult Hero" was the "A" side of the 45. Lead vocals were performed by his local postal carrier, Frank Bell. Frank is also the man on the cover with the thousand yard stare. Simon Gallup (bass) and Matthieu Hartley (keyboard) played on this album and joined The Cure immediately after.
-- I used a Fluance RT82 turntable, a mixer, and Adobe Audition. The video was taken with my Nikon Z6II and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro. All the images are pages contained within the record....

I Never Loved A Man - Aretha Franklin - 180g Vinyl

This is my favorite soul album of all time! It was Aretha's 10th studio album, and her first commercially successful one despite being a recording journey fraught with conflict. In the end she chrysalised into the "Queen of Soul". "I Never Loved A Man" began recording at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, but after a physical altercation and several screaming matches, was concluded at the ...
John Lee Hooker -Wednesday Evenin' Blues - Vinyl Record - Collector's Jazz Singers

Did you ever grin ear-to-ear while listening to a song for the first time? Well this is one of those tracks. Tap your feet and smile along with John Lee Hooker as he performs "Wednesday Evenin' Blues". This song was originally released in 1964, but this is from a vinyl record compilation I bought in Rochester, NY. John Lee Hooker is one my top three blues artists of all time along with Muddy an...
Dave Bartholomew - How Could You - Vinyl Record - Jump Children

I love sad bastard music. That's why I chose this song to record from an entire album of amazing hits. The vocals and the trumpet are so good. I understand the hypocrisy of the following paragraph. A large part of being human is accepting our hypocrisy. If we didn't we'd be frozen. Until recently watching the HBO series "Treme" last week(10/14/2024), yes I know I'm late with everything, the nam...

“A long time ago, Lightnin' was playing a local bar in Houston, and one of the frats came up and said, 'Do you mind playing something by John Lee Hooker?' And he said, 'I'm Lightnin' Hopkins. I don't play nothin' else.'” - Johnny Winter. This track is off the 180g Vinyl record "Walkin' this Road by Myself". It was originally release in 1962 on the Bluesville label out of Houston, Texas. I used ...
Junker's Blues - Champion Jack Dupree - Vinyl Record - Blues from the Gutter

This was a very controversial album for the time. Also, there are lyrics in certain songs that poke fun of traditional blue's tropes. In the song "Strollin' he sings "I think I'll go see the seven sisters or the eight brothers of somebody". I recorded this from the vinyl version of Champion Jack Dupree's Blues from the Gutter album released in 1958. I used a Fluance RT82 turntable, a mixer, and...
Louis Armstrong - King of the Zulus - Vinyl - Satchmo: A Musical Biography

Every time I hear a Louis Armstrong song for the first time, I'm blown away. He is American Music. He was the birth of popular music. He was better than anyone that came before. And everyone after, was influenced by him. I recorded this from the vinyl version of "Satchmo: A Musical Biography". I used a Fluance RT82 turntable, a mixer, and Adobe Audition. The video was taken with my Nikon Z6II a...
The Ventures - Last Night - Vinyl Record

The Ventures are one of the coolest instrumental bands. I love the put their albums on, sit back, and listen to every track. This is their version of Last Night by The Mar-Keys (1961). I recorded the audio with a Fluance RT82 turntable from a very used vinyl record. It looks like someone took a bite out of the upper right corner. The audio was edited with Adobe Audition and I created the video ...

I love this recording of Volare! Especially when Dean sings in Italian. It was recorded at the Villa Venice Night Club, Chicago, IL in 1962. The images are from the CD booklet. I bought this CD for fifty cents at a thrift store in Rochester, NY. I recorded the audio from the CD with a mixer and Adobe Audition.

This is one of my absolute favorite blues tracks. It was originally written and recorded by St. Louis Jimmy Olden in 1941. Howlin' Wolf's version in the most popular by far. I recorded the audio with a Fluance RT82 turntable from the 180 gram vinyl. I bought this album a several years ago from Iko's Music Trade in York, PA. I recorded the audio with Adobe Audition and created the video using a ...

I recorded the audio with a Fluance RT82 turntable from the 180 gram vinyl. I bought this album a few years ago from The Sound Garden in Baltimore, MD. I've played it a lot and it still sounds fairly new.
B. B. King - Rock Me Baby - Vinyl 33 1/3

I love the sound and feel of vinyl. Especially if it's old and not pristine. The scratches, turntable arm sounds, mistakes and warm tone of a vinyl record are part of the history of the music. I tried to replicate that feel with this recording. I hope you enjoy it! Copyright US-7706-1, United Superior Records, 1969, 12 Original Artist's Hits Vol. 2. Rock Me Baby - B. B. King.
