Cruise with me around El Dorado, Kansas in the winter with just the wind and the sounds of the road. It's a sunny day, but the recent snow hasn't completely melted. It's a good setting for a drive. El Dorado (spanish for Golden Land) is home to the largest oil refinery in Kansas (once the largest in the United States). Trying out a new 360 camera. Still a few bugs to work out in the process. Enjoyed the drive early in the morning. Both towns have small populations and it was nice and calm in the early hours.

@@randyowen5082 It's a great little town. Just went to the State Fair there yesterday.
I miss those state fairs@@foffignugen1915
Kind of funny. I lived in kansas twenty years grew up there. Been through salina fifty times tooeka lawrence junction city fown i seventy all the way to colorado yet i have no real idea where manhattan is.
Waist of time watching this for amost an hour
Wonderful impressions! Can`t await to visit Kansas and I will start at Wichita.

7:40 in the heart of my neighborhood 😂 I miss it so much
Love you and miss you Manhattan
31:36 oops...drag'n Douglas.......
Crazy how you can be so close to a city center 8:52 and just emptiness.. 💀👽
"The little apple"
I'd been there since 1990 to 1992 ❤❤
😂 Many decades ago, back in the 1970's - hard to believe, I remember cruising through this town from Theodore Roosevelt Elementary to Stagg Hill on a Yellow School Bus. I will never forget JD our bus driver, all the kids loved him. He always took the best route by popular vote and everyone would shout happily and sing. We had the most entertaining bus driver. Always a great afternoon ride home! We would shout and sing for him to go up Allison toward Stagg Hill, because climbing up the hill on that school bus felt like a big roller coaster ride.. Everyone would shout ALLISON and he would turn up the hill slowly and everyone would start singing and repeating... Happy times back then.. It's just as beautiful now as it was back in 1977.. ❤
We played them in Basket Ball in 1977 out of Haysville . I had a lot of fun in Kansas before I got bored and moved to LA and started living a productive life and earning money.
R U serious? I can get my little sister and grandma to be your bodyguards 🤣
That’s were my father grow up. 14th. & Leavenworth
There’s 18th Street I believe
I have been to hutch so I know a lot
That’s we’re my brother was picked up from the Comic-Con that area of town is not a nice area
Looks nice
Been a long time
Hopefully you enjoyed seeing the sights again.
It doesn't look like there is any bicycle infrastructure at all.
Theres a little bit here and there, but overall its pretty empty of it.
Holy Stroads
superb all around natural sounds, truly relaxing
Glad you enjoyed it!
have you done one on salina?
Yes, just a few weeks ago. It's available on my channel.

enjoy yer video but have to mute out the way too loud terrible music
😄 glad you've got the remote ready. It's not for everyone.
Beautiful place ❤
good job 😢
Thanks, it was fun driving around there.
Grew up there, great little town
Yup. I loved my college years there!
Probably the best concert I've ever seen.the dirt band. Hutchinson Kansas state fair. 1979 or 80.
Where I would sit and dream about that girl at the Broadway Wendy's while I wIted on that light to change.
I got a soft spot for Emporia
Soo beautiful ever how I love night driving because drop off motel, clubs, quiet, no people etc thing like that
I heard Wichita have high crimes, Is that right?
Crazy how big Wichita is getting 😮
and it's still growing
Emporia used to be a great town until the city fathers started kissing on IBP and their relentless exploitations of many different ethnic groups to cut meat for cheap. Now, it is probably the worst town of its size in Eastern Kansas by far. Iowa, Beef, and Pork and their Hassidic New York City owners ruined Emporia, KS.
I'm looking forward to Visiting soon
When we pulled into the bus yard I thought we were going to be killed or something
Wow that's a lot of signal lights on one signal arm! I live in California and we normally have 3 at the most per intersection!
how did it take you an hour and a half.
Next do a walk through of the Emporia Flint Hills Mall.
I’m still bamboozled that you started the video on Pawnee close to my high school SouthEast high school and then went on to Rock road and Then you got to 21st and Rock and I started panicking thinking you were going to turn onto 21st and get closer to my neighborhood and find my house.😂😂😂 but honestly thx for the scenic driving video of my hometown, I’m still shocked you got so close to my house bc you stayed on Rock all the way from around my high school area to past my house and a lot of other areas in Wichita me and my family go to.
I likely will never return to Emporia. I'm watching and reminiscing. Thanks for the video.
Why did you turn off going into Ark City (18:55) and take us down back streets and dirt paths? I expected you to drive right on into Ark City's downtown for continuity. That said, I went to Ark City Juco in the 1970's and this was a nice look back. Neither's downtowns have changed all that much! We had loads of fun cruising up and down the main drag to the Sonic!
Would have been more helpful if you had noted on the screen for example what streets you were on or what part of the city.
Seems like everyone in the comments USE to live in Wichita but for some reason do not now? Humm- is that a message??
They miss it and search YT for a slice of nostalgia.
Segurp no hay empleos? O es peligroso?
Where I learned about "The Harvey" Girls, and The Chisom Trail. Great community.
Boring town
That's my feeling. I lived there 28 years, but now live in Tucson and LOVE it. The dry desert, stuff to do, better people and accent, and just an aura.
Moved away from Wichita 65 now moved away 3 years ago best thing I ever done high taxes gangs shootings every night drugs burglaries really windy there just don't move there unless you're from California great place for Californians if you like living in a small town instead of a big city Californians are used to all of this they would fit right in and the city uses orange cones in town just to store them on the roads construction That Never Ends
The part of town, that was blatantly referred to. As Snob Hill, when I was in h.s.
bro to get there and back is like 45 min
