How much is the cost for the surgery ?

I say they should keep you 4to5days then send you home with pain medication and also tha more you walk tha faster you recover

It is a really painful surgery I just had mind done and boy sleeping at night you ain't getting any specially with pills and constipation another problem

WTF is happening here??? This has to be fake. That or this guys fusion completely failed after this video. This guy is wobbly AF 2 hours after surgery. Almost crashed into the glass….hes still sedated! Then 2 weeks later they’re having him bend and twist? Dumbest thing ever. It’s no wonder the best surgeons are in America. This doctor is a complete idiot. Listen, I just had an L5 S1 spinal fusion ALIF in Los Angeles with a very reputable surgeon. I was out of the hospital within 24 hours. but the hospital did not ask me to try to walk until the day after the surgery, which is common in the United States. I exceeded their expectations and I was sent home within 24 hours of having the surgery. I was also granted outpatient physical therapy on my 10 day postop appointment with the surgeon. I am 45 years old and fit. Getting outpatient PT within three weeks of a spinal fusion, for most people is unheard of. I was so advanced after the surgery that the in-house physical therapy team that came to see me said they were unable to put a plan together besides some stretching because they don’t typically see patients as advanced in recovery as I was a week after the fusion. I’m not saying any of this to brag or boast. Ultimately my point is I am not bending, lifting or twisting, and I’m three weeks postop. I don’t even think I could if I tried. Doctor say I’m not even allowed to bend, lift or twist for at least another two months. Meanwhile, this idiot has this guy bending and twisting two weeks? No way. There has been nowhere near enough time for those screws in that cage to bond to the spine. Every movement he makes put those screws at a potential risk to loosen. I can’t believe what I just watched. Talk about malpractice.

I got got the Abbott spine stimulator implant it deff. Help 1st 5 days were the worst.I use it daily.

How about the bending restrictions? It would such a relief if you don't have to have them for many weeks!

After one hour i fell isnt enough rime to truely tell if the pain has gone or its the Anesthesia. A day or two will truely tell if its working.

Stitches will take time to heal

Not possible after 2 hrs.

All I get from many doctors here in the USA is "the pain often will become worse if you have surgery" etc. I am sick of the pain and feeling like I am being burned alive. I am suicidal now.

🥹The first time I have seen a person who walks like me!! I walk like her. Previously I have talked to numerous people who have "severe" spinal issues so they "can only jog four miles instead of ten" and other similar examples. I thought because my gait has become so degraded I must be dying. I am not ready to die.

Can't believe the medical community doesn't even know about this therapy. It being around and approved in the US for nearly 20 years yet folks still do not recommend it because they don't know about it

2 hours after surgery.. I was in agony and no way could I get out of bed till the next day after Surgery! Sure this vid is fake, like where is the catheters?

With the fusion you have compromised the rest of the spine.

My husband had this spinal fusion operation today. He also had a spinal cyst removed. The surgeon, who is top of his field, described consequences of not having the operation, so there was no option. It was loss of all lower body function, bladder, bowels, legs etc. He was six plus hours in surgery. He is hooked up to all kinds of machines and is in severe discomfort already. He is 71 years old, so no spring chicken. God knows what the next few weeks will bring. Thank God for our NHS, I cannot imagine what this operation and the superb level of care he is receiving at Stoke Royal would cost else. I thank the staff there, with all my heart, for how they are looking after him so far. He was always so fit and strong, he will have such problems adjusting. Sorry, for moaning, but I feel so helpless to help him tonight.

This seems absolute bullshit. I just had a fusion done 4 days ago and there is no way in hell he’s walking without a brace. It’s was so painful after surgery I couldn’t use the bathroom for two days. I was also on a “pain pump” with one of the strongest pain meds you can take.

Total misrepresentation. I too felt like this until the anaesthetic and hospital painkillers wore off then I could hardly walk. Let's see what you are like 2 or 3 weeks later

I had one spinal fusion surgery it didn't work then I had the alif spinal fusion surgery my movements are not the same anymore the alif spinal fusion surgery gave me nerve damage know I have crps in my lower right leg I advise anyone make back surgery your last option truly try other methods first

I just had the same procedure, maybe a little extra, since they had to remove bone spurs, I am also in my early 60's and had this problem since I was 13 and thrown from a horse, lived with it all of my life but recently yardwork became unbearable along with leg and foot pain, I am two weeks post op and still in a great deal of pain, I am moving, getting in and out of bed is the worst, I still have a bit of fluid build up and inflammation on my spine according to my surgeon, he says next summer I hopefully will be able to resume most of my yardwork, I think there are a lot of factors that can determine your recovery, age and the extent of the injury, long term wear and tear, also if other disc are ruptured.

I have to go for L4-l5-S1 fusion.....and I am terrified....watching this gives me hope. I've suffered for 20 yrs with lower back and leg pain.....for the last 10 yrs could not feel my toes or the top of my feet. Sciatic pain getting off the couch, out of my car, from my bed.
