What are Tensors in Physics? (satirical)
I created this video from a collection of experiences which myself and several of my other peers went through during our undergraduate physics degrees when it came to learning tensors from a physics perspective. It is meant as a light-hearted video to highlight the struggles many of used faced when it came to learning various difficult topics which weren't covered in enough detail/ brushed aside/ assumed knowledge. After many conversations with people, I came to realise I wasn't alone, and struggling with certain concepts (such as tensors in particular) not being adequately explained was an experience shared by many undergraduates. I guess then you could say this video is designed to rais...

Why some Physicists think you are a Boltzmann Brain
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.Месяц назад
Is what we experience really what there is? Physics (in its current state) seems to suggest maybe not. This has led to the Boltzmann Brain idea, a paradox which predicts that it is far more likely that the Universe does not really exist - at least not in any physical form. In this video I build up to the Boltzmann Brain Paradox by considering the physical laws rooted in thermodynamics which exp...
How Was General Relativity Tested And Proved To Be Accurate?
Просмотров 6273 месяца назад
General Relativity is the current most complete theory we have for understanding gravity. It was developed over 100 years ago by Albert Einstein and crucially models gravity as fundamentally different to a classical force. Instead, gravity is the curving of spacetime caused by the presence of mass (energy). Put simply, mass causes spacetime to bend, and spacetime tells mass how to move. This in...

The Missing Baryon Problem in Physics
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.11 месяцев назад
There are many unsolved problems in physics, the most famous being the mysteries of quantum gravity, supersymmetry, the Planck scale, dark matter and dark energy… but there is also what has become to be known as the Missing Baryon Problem - less well known but equally important to cosmologists. The Universe contains energy from various sources, with 3 still being relevant today: Dark Energy (wh...
What Happens Beyond the Planck Length?
Просмотров 212 тыс.11 месяцев назад
The Planck Length is a mysterious constant in modern physics which is often credited as being the smallest allow length in nature or a sort of resolution of the Universe. In reality, this length is derived from considering a particle who’s reduced Compton wavelength is comparable to its Schwarzschild radius; the first being an idea from Quantum Mechanics and the other a concept from General Rel...
What's Really Inside A Proton?

The proton is one of the most prevalent and important particles in our Universe and has a complex internal structure. Protons are not fundamental particles. Most pre-degree level physics teachers might only briefly discuss that a Proton is made up of 3 quarks and is held together by the Strong Nuclear Force via Gluons. However this is a far simplified down model of what really goes on inside a ...

So from a photon’s perspective, it would see the entire universe and all time past and future. Just like the inhabitants of Flatland don’t realize that we can see inside their homes, their safes and even inside their bodies, but the 2D inhabitants can only see lines of different lengths and determine shapes by going around them and feeling them.

thank you, economy will rise by using jet plasma machine and compressed gas(Air) in isolated structure in water pool with more than 80 % efficiency , it transfers compressed gas(hot air) temperature from engine to water for steam generator in first level, New energy from sea will change world soon, there are other source of energy that with international cooperation in coastline we can reduce effect of global warming, sea is huge source of energy, further more we can prevent these phenomena like cyclone and flood and wildfire by using this hot seasonal atmospheric condition, recent years in summer, geothermal energy happens in surface of coastline, there are many countries in coastline with seasonal hot weather and water condition in comparison with middle Ocean, its more than 12 degrees , in sum-up, by using this energy not only is economical but also reduce global warming in countries like Japan, China, India, Mediterranean countries, Iran, Brazil, Mexico, Us, Canada, (Africa and Arabian countries....) . I invented new method base on air pressure rules and quantum physics ionization sea water minerals in strong dynamic magnet bases on paramagnetic and diamagnetic particles and electrical microwave wave field and electric chemical reactions (K+, Mg++, Na+, H+, H++, li+, H2, ...) +( O2, N2, ...) into up level by vacuum pump from storage into combustion chambers as major part of fuel (more than 50%) for producing electricity and fresh water and fertilizer. this machine produces 150Megwatt-hour/hour and 20000M3/DAY fresh water and fertilizer. 7 methods zero pollution for reducing global warming I mentioned in my profile. unfortunately for all you "CMB disproves steady state" people, you base it all on an assumption that the power of the universe is relegated to the limitation of the photon. So desperate to disprove God and so eager to use evolution to do so; it's laughable at the hubris and arrogance! where is there any proof that the universe took billions of light years to expand? You would think that quantum physics would totally destroy this ignorance. But it doesn't because of the underlying agenda of "Destroying God"! the power of the universe > the photon.

There are NO subatomic particles. The atom is a helix like your DNA. There is a positively charged side and a negatively charged side, spiraling around a hollow tube created by the push toward and away from each other. Just like every beam of light. Just like the magnetic flow. It’s all the same action. The charge difference/ratio between the positive and negative in htz (like nano or pickhtz) is what creates the bonds, shape and total weight and charge. Think of it like more a battery.

Hello , when the universe first formed, did subatomic particles interact with the Higgs field and change Z bosons, gaining excess charge and mass? Does this change occur in the form of absorption and release? and how does it turn out? If it results in absorption, since the mass of the Z boson is high, shouldn't the masses of the quarks and electrons that absorb the Z boson also be high?

Every model we use is a human model. We use a model of gravity that is incredibly precise, and may yet improve upon it, but at the end of the day it is still a human created model and therefore not a perfect representation of reality. Same goes with any observable phenomenon. This is why AI will never have an accurate perception of reality as it can only rely on human models to understand the world.

This is so absolutely true to the core. We are introduced to tensors, but tensors are related to a myriad of other functions and, although we are working with tensors, we STILL DO NOT KNOW WHAT A TENSOR SPECIFICALLY IS. The following is a simple Google Search for the question, "What is a tensor in simple terms?" “In mathematics, tensors are geometrical objects that describe the linear relationships between geometric, nu- merical, and other tensile vectors.” “The simplest way to imagine a tensor is that it's a vector in a product space. And, of course, we have spinors and twistors. I suspect that the tensors, spinors and twistors are basically just mathematical objects that can be used to describe physical properties, just like scalars and vectors. In fact, tensors are merely a generalisation of scalars and vectors; a scalar is a zero-rank tensor, and a vector is a first rank tensor. The best way to grasp it intellectually, I suspect, is to just work on some algebraic maths problem and a tensor would be mentally written as an algebraic object that describes a multilinear relationship between sets of algebraic objects related to a vector space. Tensors may map between different objects such as vectors, scalars, and even other tensors. And, for some reason, I still cannot envision how the tensor concept is able to enable one to focus on what part of the maths equation we are trying to solve for, but it somehow works. For some reason, the tensors, spinors and twistors are the alternate maths version of the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle.

@3:00 this is a critical point, the Compton wavelength is certainly *_not_* "purely quantum mechanical". The mass is gravitational charge (or inertia, but then there's the Equivalence Principle), so it is a relationship that involves gravity. GR is already a quantum theory imho, just not classically, since classical GR presumes trivial spacetime topology (locally Minkowski) which is fundamentally wrong-headed. Any spacetime containing matter cannot be locally Minkowski. There has to be non-trivial topology. Provided that topology can contain ER bridges it will contain closed timelike curves, and that yields a quantum theory. The indeterminism due to CTCs is precisely the same as QM indeterminacy (gives a nondistributive orthomodular lattice of measurement propositions), only this indetermism is superior in a sense since it is explained with spacetime topology, whereas in QM it is just unexplained axiom.

This is non-scientific question right out the gate. We can't observe anything below the Planck length - even "in theory" (i.e., it's not just a matter of not having the technology "yet"). In order to look at something that small, we'd have to create conditions which would lead to a microscopic black hole, and the hole's event horizon would prevent any information from getting out. So, eve if we make a proposal for "what happens" down there, we're unable to collect data to validate it. We can't apply the scientific method, so there's no point in asking the question in the first place. You may invent an idea, or read about one, that really sits nice with you, and then you can believe that's what, in fact, happens, but it will always be only a philosophical speculation - never settled science.
