Adventuring to a Tranquil Cliff on the Edge of Ireland | Blackhead

We hop on a train out of Belfast to walk along the coast from Whitehead and take a looping path around a peaceful, yet imposing, cliff.
Hi IV. that's a rigt old dander. At 71 plus a heart attack last year,I couldn't do it now! lol Best wishes from the Belfast Castlereagh hills.
Firstly good video. The station definitely has an airport feel to it and I like the natural light. The station could definitely do with some palm tree to soften it a bit, but I love the connects between trains and buses, in bad weather they will help passengers no end.
Wow this is a great video
Cheers
Northern Ireland
And Northern Ireland is on the island of Ireland. It's literally in the name.
Don’t be naive
@@mauricemason4648 I apologise on behalf of millions of years of geographical formation for offending you.
Time we moved on...great job.
why do the platforms not match the train doors height wise
Enjoyed your video. Pity it was so wet for you, but it added to the atmosphere! I can remember being in the old Killynether house as a child with my grandfather at a time when it had been vandalised. Big rooms, wooden floor boards and very high ceilings. It probably would have cost a fortune to restore, and it wasn't the done thing back them anyway.
@@feetfirstspeks That's incredible!
Its not uk government it the Northern Ireland Assembly government responsible for Northern Ireland public transport and infrastructure
Should be announcements in English and Irish
No there shouldnt i dont go to another country and demand english announcements im sure irish announcements are available in ireland but this is the uk and we speak english anyone who doesnt like it is very welcome to make their way through the border ni census results show that only 0.7% of 2 million citizens speak irish so why bother with irish announcements waste of time , resources and money
Needs more catering and seating
Need Irish language signage that very poor and coach stop for coaches to Dublin Aircoach First group plc and National Express Dublin Express coaches coaches
Did the Irish government build & pay for it?
Did I say they did?
Looks space age.
Why is it always empty???looking😮
I can't help but find it all rather empty and sterile. I hope they eventually install more seating, plant life, art, etc, to give it a bit more life, it doesn't look like the sort of place that one would want to spend more time than is absolutely necessary at present.
@@jakezyx It could use a few more touches to jazz it up a bit. Though as someone who hates crowded places I found myself really liking the amount of open space. Architecturally, I still much prefer the look of stations from the 19th century over sleek, modern minimalism.
It's NORTHERN IRELAND UK new train and bus station get your facts correct.
What's the island called?
@@Irish_Vagrant Two separate countries i can guess your agenda not wanting to call NORTHERN IRELAND by proper name just saying ireland.
@@brucelee-d1k This is Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is part of the UK. Northern Ireland is one of two countries on this island. This station is now the largest station on this island; an island called Ireland.
@@brucelee-d1k You just go ahead and change that soiled underpants of yours and calm down on the fizzy drinks.
@@brucelee-d1klook at Bruce rattled 😂😂😂😂😂
Interesting. I didn’t know about this. We visited Belfast back in May and our bus stopped at the Europa bus centre. Do you know what will happen the building of the now closed Europa bus centre?
I'm not entirely sure. I don't think they've announced any plans to demolish it. Maybe Translink will sell it off.
hey the area around and including europa will be part of a 1.3 million Square acres of regeneration including office housing and retail the europa itself will be turned into a massive street food market @@Irish_Vagrant
@@kennymitchell4361Ah, I had no idea, thanks! Also I'm assuming you mean 1.3 million sq feet.
They are demolishing it. The station platforms and track were ripped up from May this year. They are also going to demolish the Boyne Bridge.
@@NornIronNews Yeah, the railway portion of it is getting nuked but this question is about the buscentre part that's glued to the Great Northern Mall.
Mesmerising. A bit creepy but well done lad.
Beautiful save the English weather.☘️
I live in ballywitticock and have a fabulous view of scrabo every day
A lovely journey. I must admit I don’t think Belfast was a very beautiful city. But the surrounding areas and the east and north coast of Northern Ireland are incredible stunning. Thanks again for sharing 😊 Cheers from Norway 😊
Belfast definitely does have some of the unpleasantness of being a post-industrial city. It's got some nice looking areas nowadays as well as some really unpleasant ones.
Very enjoyable video. Thanks for sharing 😊
@@Trond_travels Thanks!
it was a real pleasure to watch this wonderfull video thanks to you pretty far from where i live ( Belgium ) i went to Portsmouth , Rochester and i suppose York will be m next destinationfor 1 week ciao irsh frend
@@evanderer Thanks! It's a wonderful city to stay in and explore.
Nice video, particularly liked the abandoned motorbike!
It was an unexpected find and it initially spooked me because I somehow thought it was someone crouched in the grass.
Seeing all the shops with little bits and bobs makes me a bit nostalgic for summer vacations. As a kid, I loved walking around these shops on the coast
I wish I could have gone into many of them but I'd spent so much time there exploring what was outside rather than indoors.
The lane you went up to enter the back of the mines is called porters lane my grandfathers lane the last house on the left a wee bungalow befor the quarry was his as well as the quarry the first building remains you where in was the old pump house lookin out oupn to the stack
