Just trying to get some crappies at Willard Bay in between storms. Nothing was biting until this guy shows up. Please excuse the shakes, was trying to reel and film at the same time. 28" long.

Greg catches a nice bow at Strawberry Reservoir 3-2-13
Просмотров 7111 лет назад
Greg and I decided to try our luck at Strawberry Saturday. There were at least 400 people there! Everyone was fishing at 20' depths and deeper which left all the shallows to us! Thanks to a tip from a fellow hook jerker, we knew the bows were in the shallower water in pretty good numbers. (Thanks Mr. Rojoneck!) I hooked up first with a nice 17" dark colored bow then Greg followed with his 19" 2...
The Ugly Burbot
Просмотров 62011 лет назад
Greg and I went back to Flaming Gorge for some nightime burbot fishing. We were just south of the boat ramp at Firehole canyon in 36 FOW. It was SLOW! Out there till almost midnight and only caught 2. They were both in the 24-26" range and around 3lbs each. In Wyoming/Utah, it is state law that you are not to release any burbot back into the Gorge and all burbot must be killed immediately. So I...
Perch fishing Pineview Feb. 10, 2013
Просмотров 50111 лет назад
Megan and I went to Pineview today in a snowstorm to catch some perch. Got there around 12:30 and fished till 5. Lost track of how many fish we caught but it had to be at least 100 between the two of us. Nonstop action! I can't believe the amount of perch in this body of water! Most fish were between 5-7" long with quite a few 8-9". Grab your kids and come on out!
Fishing Mirror Lake Uinta Mountains, Utah
Просмотров 7 тыс.11 лет назад
Megan and I decided to escape the heat and run up to mirror lake to do a little fishing. It was real windy and there was a forest fire in the area so it was smokey/hazy but still much cooler than home. Megan shot two hours of footage of me catching 9 trout. We condensed it down to 20 minutes. Used Windows Movie Maker to edit it. Hope you enjoy!
Dipnetting Cisco at Bear Lake.
Просмотров 5 тыс.11 лет назад
Greg and I drove 2 hours to Cisco Beach on Bear Lake in northern Utah to the cisco disco! There you hack a good size hole in the ice and use a net with a long pole to scoop up these fish as they come into the rocks to spawn. Cisco, a member of the whitefish family, get up to 9-10 inches long and taste pretty good. This particular strain of Cisco is only found in Bear lake. We limited out in an ...
Greg catches pup mack at Flaming Gorge

Greg and I drove 3.5 hours to Green River, Wyoming for the 2013 burbot bash at Flaming Gorge. We were just south of Buckboard Marina hoping to slay some burbot. We did not. We did catch 3 pup Macks. Greg Caught 2. First one was around 19-20" and 1.5-2lbs. The second one in the video was a little bigger at 22-23" and around 2-2.5lbs. I caught one not worthy of a video at 16" and just under a pou...
Megan Catches Sucker at Strawberry
Просмотров 28112 лет назад
Ice fishing on Strawberry Reservoir near Heber City, Utah, Megan catches a surprise! A 17-18" 2lb white sucker! We didn't quite know what to do with it so I made a quick call to the Utah DWR and they said to leave it for the eagles. This reservoir is known for HUGE cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, and kokanee salmon, not suckers!
Megan catches big cutt at Strawberry

Megan caught this 24-25" 4-5lb cutthroat trout while fishing with me at Strawberry Reservoir near Heber City, UT. Video was taken with my cell phone so not the best quality plus I was trying to reel in my line, net the fish, and video everything at the same time. Sorry about the shaky video. Enjoy!

Kevin and I drive 3 hours away to a small lake we've never fished and caught some really nice gills and sunnys. Most were in the 8-9" range but a couple were real toads at almost 10-11"! Very fun time!

I’m moving up there soon and would love to try this. I don’t know a lot about bluegill fishing. How do you pick your spot to fish? Do you look for vegetation under the ice? Also what bait did you use? Sorry for all the questions.

Last year they did a reboot of that particular lake so bluegill fishing will most likely be slow. I also believe it’s catch and release only until the population gets established. That was my first time fishing there so we just drilled a bunch of holes until we marked fish on our flasher. We used small jigs like rat finkes, ice flies, and football jigs tipped with wax worms.

If I see a frabill hut like that at buckboard, I'll stop in and say hi. For the burbot, During the day, Fish in about 80 ft. glow in the dark jigs, tipped with sucker meat about 3" off the bottom.

Thanks a lot! I've enjoyed your videos as well! We caught lots of 8's and a few 9's and 10's. We weren't deep enough for the crappie they like the 40+ depth. I've never fished jordanelle, but I plan to. Good to know there is decent perch there too! Pineview just has nonstop action and my kids really enjoy it, plus it's really close! Keep up the good work on your videos too!

Thanks! Looking to go back to the Gorge this weekend for burbot. Seems like this winter the perch are everywhere between 20-40' deep. We were on the south side of cemetary point right off the beach. Easy traveling. We caught lots of 8-9" with a couple of 10's! If you pick and choose the 8 and up ones, you'll get a fry in a few hours, especially if you bring the fam! Good luck!

I've never fished Pineview before, I need to try it out. Fried up all of the perch I caught at Fish Lake and I have no more left so I need to get out and catch more. Did you catch any with at least some meat on them? Anywhere specific to try for Perch or is the whole reservoir just flooded with them? Make some more videos, you're a natural!

@slcmando801 the only spot I know near SLC for whities is Utah Lake. All of the community ponds such as willow pond should have gills. Pelican Lake is the only blue ribbon bluegill lake in Utah to my knowledge. Mantua is another one but it's near Brigham City off US 91. Good luck!

@slcmando801 About 10 miles west of Vernal. Take US 40 to SR88 south, then it's about 10-12 miles down.

  • @jerazima
    @jerazima 13 лет назад

@team1xtreme9 The ice was a good 12-14" thick. The lake is filling so the ice was constantly popping but we were in no danger of falling through.
