    Hello! just found your channel. My partner and I are going through the adoption process as gay parents in the UK and this is one of the very few channels I've found talking about our experience. Thanks for these videos, they're very informative. Can I ask how it works during transition? did you have to take annual leave from work? we both work full time and are struggling to fit everything in.

    Completely off-topic, but you can now travel from London to Perth (Australia) directly without going through Abu Dhabi or a similar country. The airline that does this flight is called Qantas. However, it's 17 hours. So, that's 17 hours with a toddler. 😬👶 I've taken the flight and it's quite good. I too don't feel comfortable travelling via Abu Dhabi.

      Thanks for the comment, yes I know the flight and have done it before :)

    I changed my name as an adult. I realise this is different than what you are talking about because it was my choice; however, I never felt that my birth name was apart of my identity. In the context of adoption, I can see how one more change on top of so many others could create a compounded effect of loss upon a child. But, it does come down to how open you are with adopted children and the reasons why you made certain decisions.

    • @DaddyLifeLondon
      @DaddyLifeLondon 4 года назад

      Sorry for the late response. I totally get it. I think it is really about being as open as possible. I think I didn't always feel like that was the same with me as a child but that could just be how I felt as opposed to how it was. Very conscious of letting our little one make their own choice.
