It’s horrible to see how they’ve all been conditioned by the job and owners, to think they're less valuable as individual people than the generic equipment.

The thing is, even if the rams are closed (they should be) this floor hand committed the mortal oilfield sin of dropping and object down hole. Doesn't matter if it's a drill bit or a pencil, youre taught right from day one to keep objects away from the well at all costs.

I know absolutely nothing about the oil drilling business, and even I could tell that was a major f-up.
