I have thought a lot about things while moving and preparing for hopefully my son's return. Life is too short. Its too short to not stand uo for yourself in fear others might mock you. Its too short to not share the truth of struggles people such as yourself or others face in life out of fear others will say your over reacting. @kathleenlazarus3168 I'm so sorry, I hope it goes smoothly. I agree going through this aborad is much scarier at first than back in my hone country. My home country and state was a 50/50 state and we mediated (when I divorced my ex husband). We sat in 2 seprate rooms and the mediator went back and forth and we made a whole plan and agreement for our kids' lives for 2 or 3 hours. Mature parents would want what's best for the child despite differences. This is just cruel

    Korean goes to other people country. They travel around the world and they expect you to treat them fairly but when you come to their country, they treat you like shit for a country that is so advanced. The thinking is so 16 century This is unbelievable. What’s the use of all the technology when your brain remain the same?

    I had an interesting discussion about the way misogyny works in Korea vs places where (particularly Catholic) Christianity has been entrenched. It was interesting to see the ways subtle differences in the roots of Misogyny can impact society in different ways. Particularly if you want to help women & gender minorities in other countries, it's important to have a good grasp on why the misogyny you're fighting looks the way it does. Food for thought! Misogyny sucks. Xenophobia Sucks! Especially when you're spending so many resources to encourage immigration! Kia Kaha, Courtney. You're doing amazingly.

    • @courtneytheenthusiast
      @courtneytheenthusiast 21 час назад

      @CK.Stellata Back in the day, chirstian religions in the u.s used to have certain groups or towns that were very misogynistic and hurt women who spoke out. Here Confucius beliefs that are woven into societal values are to blame. Woman are supposed to be silent and behind men. The difference is...other countries, depsite some remaining misogynistic...usually the masses fight against it for the sake of basic human decency and human rights. Korea wants to pretend to be a 1st world country on the global playing feild...pulling all these forigners in and getting us interested in studying or living here...yet it's laws and mindset very much reflect a 3rd world country that does not value half of its citizens when it comes to safety and abuse, ect. So (althought all countries hid something and have a version of "the American dream" that's falsified and not how the country truley is...alot of people recently have been comparing it to how Japan pulls forigners in with the whole Manga , upbeat technology faced after the horrific crimes that happened decades ago...only for people to move there and see the dex trafficking of child runaways, forigne phobia, misogyny. In Koreas case, you will see over and over many youth of Korea stating they don't get why women especially keep wanting to move here...as they desperately want out. I have noticed all of my female friends from korea when interning in the u.s or visting always seem more free like to be themselves. Not speaking for these woman, but I have noticed they seem to let go and do things they always wanted to and are more honest versions of themselves. I didn't explain my thought here very well...but I mean all countries hide the real country behind the curtain. As for the u.s, it's about many things poverty and unlivable wage and rent inflation...the American dream is not very possible especially post covid.

    Don't let this set you back. You got this!! Don't let them see you crumble under the pressure. Stay strong and keep using this as fuel for your motivation and determination to getting your baby back. I am sorry for the pain and trouble that you're going through. I can only imagine the b.s that they are displaying when you're in court. It's deplorable and disgusting behavior. The bias and discrimination towards your situation is mind boggling, especially since you're in Korea and not somewhere in the middle east where this type of behavior is normal in those countries. But for korea doing this is sickening. Do they have no shame, since yours and many women in your situation are treated so indifferently. Like i said before, you have so many supporters around the world paying attention as well as back in the states. We stand by you and offer our warm wishes and prayers that your situation greatly improves down the road. Take and well wishes.

So give what you can, then spread the word to your friends and family so that they can do the same. Sadly it sounds like the Korean courts value finances above all else when it comes to custody battles. A lot of time it feels like watching helplessly as the law sides with a proven abuser over a loving mother. But donating to her is one way we can all help. It would be a tragedy if the courts refuse Courtney custody because she is deemed as not having enough money. Don't let that happen.

    Gosh, I feel so sorry for you. My heart goes out to you and the women who are abused by their lovers. These coward men are supposed to protect the women, but instead harm them. Karma will get back at them. I would never treat a woman like that. Either I love her or break up and let her go her way to find her happiness. Abusing someone deserves to be punished. I thought Korea was a great country to live, but now I would not recommend it to any woman because the laws don't protect them. Glad that you are posting so that people know what kind of a guy he is and how injustice the system in Korea is. The old saying about "When you date someone, you're dreaming. I'm hoping and sending good thoughts that you'll spend proper time with your boy soon, Courtney. Thank you for the updates. Comment below is more for others in general as I know a lot of people who watch you videos aren't aware about these issues in Korea. As many flaws as the US has, it's miles ahead and progressive compared to Korea, compared to most countries tbf. Korea is one of the most least developed first world countries I've come across from an ethical or inclusive standpoint. They do not care about basic welfare. Korea has definite strengths: everything is quick and efficient like you'd never find anywhere cos Korea is largely impatient/lazy and Koreans don't like waiting around in any sense of the word. So in some ways (esp with paperwork) it feels a lot more advanced than many leading western countries. Despite great medical care (amazing dentistry), better than I've seen in many first world countries, mental health is still insanely taboo. A lot of ppl still think if you're in a domestic violence situation then you MUST be part of the problem if not all of it (they may not admit it, but that's what they think privately). This even extends to rape where people feel you're targeted because you did something wrong. A lot of people with more informed, progressive mindsets (esp the younger gen) cannot bear to stay in Korea and are desperate to leave. It's a horrible government and a stagnant/traditionalist country with decent, good people trying their best to survive with very little help/tools. I cannot stress how much of a cesspit it is. One on one, people are kind and hard working. As a nation, it is completely backwards. I am always appalled and concerned whenever I hear anyone suggest living there by choice when they aren't born and raised. As someone who's had fifteen-sixteen years of it already, I wouldn't touch that country or Korean citizens with a ten foot pole, because I don't want to be put through the anguish of wrestling with their government or systems ever again.

    I found ur videos randomly on RUclips and I hope you won the case really. That you can have your baby or you can meet and play with him from time to time like 3 times a week or smt at least. It makes me angry when Korea court system is slowing the process and making you feel bad about your baby. We’re talking South Korea here isn’t it a developed country? Korea is really shit for abusing and violent case like even in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. I saw a Korean food mukbang girl had a very abusive and violent case went through over years. Even in their dramas, they’re just smt if you’re not in their favor or interest, then they treat you like a trash. Really hope you get back with your family❤
