Our final destination in Fukushima was to visit the local Round1a short walk from the train station. Cameron got to play his favorite Sound Voltex games while I checked out the crane games and won a few prizes.

Day trip to visit Fukushima the last region of Japan we hadn't visited. Decided to explore a park with a Pokemon themed playground before visiting the Round1 center afterwards.

The Maglev Exhibition Center houses exhibits both interactive and educational about the upcoming Maglev 2027 train project for Tokyo-Nagoya, then soon to be extended out to Osaka. The test track for the maglev train can be viewed from the window where you can witness the max speed of 500 km/h as it enters/exits from the tunnel.

Drove out to Yamanashi to visit the Fuji Q Highland theme park, it is known for a variety of rides as well as the view of Mt. Fuji. Apologies for the smudged footage, it was very humid out on this summer day and I didn't notice the lens fogging at the time.

after arriving in Tokyo via Shinkansen we took some time to explore Akihabara before our drive out to Fuji-Q the next day.

A couple animal cafes that were in the area of Kurashiki. They were all adorable.

There was a lot to see in Kurashiki, the canal street area was beautiful and home to a lot of denim shops. We all bought some clothing either from Graph or Blue Sakura.

On the drive out from Tokushima headed to return the car in Kagawa we stopped to look at the bamboo growing on the side of the road.

We visited the remaining two vine bridges still in working order, these were the smaller male and female bridges. There is also a rope trolley bridge here but it was out of commission during our visit.

Before leaving Tokushima we decided to visit a village, home to a variety of dolls made by Tsukimi Ayano. She set them up to help with the loneliness from the declining population, they are still maintaining and rotated out depending on the season.

The suspension bridge we visited was one of three remaining in Iya Valley made of mountain vines (kazurabashi). This particular one is the largest of the three stretching 45 meters across Iya river. The bridges are well maintained and rebuilt every couple of years. They are also anchored to trees at both ends with steel cables hidden within the vines for safety. Rented a car in Kagawa and drove down through the Tokushima prefecture to reach the Iya region. Overall the drive was very scenic and I loved the narrow mountain roads. The trip was definitely worth the view from our thatched roof house we stayed in for the next couple of days. The staff primarily spoke Japanese which was to be expected being so secluded from the busy cities. I would definitely...
