Love this band - such a unique sound. The only band I've ever heard that sounds similar is Dinosaur Jr. Specifically the album "Farm", which by no coincidence is my favorite of their albums. For fans of Dexter, check it out if you haven't already- I'm shocked it isn't listed as an influence. Give a listen to Dinosaur Jr. - See You if you're looking for some old school rock in this vein. J Mascis, the singer/guitarist was once referred to as "God" by Spin Magazine, and recruited multiple times by Kurt Cobain to be part of Nirvana.
