Just a video from a different angle of one of the last races before I began the new build. Car has been down way longer than expected due to back orders on literally every single thing (thanks California, thanks Biden). Recently made contact with another vendor/builder who says they can help out so hopefully it won’t be much longer. New set up should be pretty killer, let’s just hope the stock ...

Went out to the track last night and had a little more success but still kicking myself. Battling a nasty headwind and working on tire pressure and shock adjustment, I was able to get a 1.34 60’ but missed 2nd 🤦🏻♂️ Would have been my 10.0x pass. I was able to manage a 10.13@134.7 with a 1.38 60’. Maybe next time I can crack the 10.0’s or better as the 60 continues to improve each visit.

Went out to the track with the new combo and ran some decent times for its maiden voyage. Was mainly working on tire pressures and launch RPM, did not mess with control arms or shock/strut settings. Third pass netted a 10.26@134 mph, the 4th and last pass I was concentrating on the reaction time and didn’t launch well but it pulled a sick wheelie 🥲 That pass was a 10.3.

I have CJ, Long tube headers, 47 pound injectors, e85 tune, wot box launch control and power shift, and I just ordered 3.90 gears and will get them installed Saturday. I really hope I can get 11.5 on full weight
i ran 11.3 with CJ, Headers, 93 tune and 3.31 gears you should be in the 10.9's easy

Any numbers on this build? I know Mikes made ~750 at 17:1.
@@na4valve I was only able to make 2 dyno pulls because the dyno shop kinda screwed me on time, they double booked my appointment and the guy that arrived before me took up the whole day, I only had 2 hours. I received 1 tune revision (base pull and then revision pull) and it made 600whp on pump E with only 25 degrees of timing. It picked up 20whp from base pull with just 1 degree, so I think it would have made 630-640whp on pump e85. The engine ended up spinning all the main bearings a couple days later so never got to really find out. New combo should be done soon and it will make a lot more power. Also, knowing what I know now, Mike doesn’t have 17:1 compression, the most you can get out of these is a hair over 14:1 due to the physical size of the cylinder vs combustion chamber volume. His car still made stupid power which just shows how good of a builder RGR is.
17:1 is not particularly difficult to get out of a 3.900” stroker combo Voodoo heads should have a ~57cc combustion chamber volume, this doesn’t include area added by the head gasket. Assuming 3.700”x3.900” bore/stroke, 5.85” rods, 1.129” compression height pistons with .200” down top ring (N/A ideal), 3.71” x .032” head gaskets (shelf stock Cometic item), 8.937” deck height with .008” piston to deck clearance we arrive at: 0cc (flat tops) - 11.61:1 5cc dome - 12.49:1 10cc dome - 13.54:1 15cc dome - 14.8:1 20cc dome - 16.34:1 22cc dome - 17.06:1 10-15cc domes should be relatively easy to achieve good dome dimensions that won’t interfere with flame propagation much with a pent roof chamber and a central spark plug on 3.700” bore. 15cc+ would require a chamber mold and a good piston designer but still totally doable, IMO. Dome size could also be reduced through cylinder head and/or block milling, increased compression height or a thinner head gasket.

Hopefully starting assembly soon. The stroker in the video got hurt from a loss in oil pressure after 500 miles so it’s been getting fixed and I’m building another stroker that will have more compression. Just waiting on CP to finish the pistons, they were supposed to start machining them either last week or the week before.

This video was of the old combo that ended up spinning some main bearings. The new combo will still be a 5.5L with ported voodoo heads, 600” lift cams, competition ported CJ manifold with custom plenum but compression will be a bit higher, probably 15.5:1ish

@@coryemerson9225 it’s going run on e85 for now and should make mid 600’s to the wheels. The engine in the video made right at 600 with basically no tuning.

Any update/new video on the car
This engine lost oil pressure earlier in the year and I lost motivation to work on it for a while. Finally got the itch to work on it again and all the stuff has been sent off to RPG for repair and I’m building another engine that will be the primary engine. Going a little higher on the compression, waiting for diamond to finish machining the pistons then the rotating assembly can be balanced. Hopefully early 2024 it will be running.

Yeah sorry for the lack of updates. The short block lost oil pressure and hurt the crank and block very badly. RPG is going to get it fixed up but I’m building another 5.5L that will be higher compression. I’m waiting on CP to finish the pistons and then MPR has to balance the new crankshaft. I’m hoping to begin assembly in January.

@@chriscooper8210 MPR is doing the machine work and they specs the new pistons for me. I am doing the blueprinting and assembly. That 321 engine ran good, I feel like I should have stuck with it more and tried to squeeze more from it before screwing around with different fuels and eventually hurting the piston.

I ran a 28” tire and turned 86-8700 rpm so it could go 140+ in 4th. It did almost 135 in the 1/4 and I passed the traps in 4th
