How to make a Scrub bag / drawstring bag. Simple, quick and easy sewing tutorial.
This tutorial will show you how to make a really quick, easy, simple drawstring bag/scrub bag.
If you are making this bag for hospital workers I recommend 100% cotton, it will need to be able to withstand a 60 degree wash. It's 55x40cm - the right size and perfect for our hospital workers to safely transport their scrubs to and from work in!
Since the start of the covid pandemic I, along with many others, have been trying to help in any way that I can. When I heard about The Scrub Hub I was thrilled to find that my sewing skills could be put to good use in sewing up extra scrubs for our healthcare workers.
The Scrub Hub is now a huge network of volunteers sewing scrubs across the U.K in a...

How to make quality fabric bunting!
Просмотров 46 тыс.7 лет назад
Watch my tutorial video to learn how to make good quality fabric bunting that will last longer than just one party! If you find sewing the bunting flags into the bias binding tricky, there is an easier way, just a little longer. Instead of sandwiching the flags between the bias binding, before ironing the bias in half, you can pin the flags in place, half way in to the width of the bias then se...
Graffiti clutch bags; The making of
Просмотров 1717 лет назад
A few years ago I had the idea to combine me and my boyfriends skills to create something really fun and unique. I made an oversized clutch bag pattern and made up about 15 bags in a faux white leather. We took the bags to a legal wall where we hung them side by side to act as a large canvas. Then my boyfriend painted his piece.

Thank you for sharing this great video. I have been binge watching to find a suitable tutorial to help me make a Christmas stocking, and this is by far the best I have found. I am ready now to have a go. I will find and watch your other videos as well because I love your clear instructions and quiet calm style of presenting. Vera in Northern Ireland

I made this, all good apart from my lining was inside out! maybe a patterned lining would of made it easier to follow.

I went for white for a snowy christmas look, but you are right. if I do another video a printed lining would definitely be easier to follow. Hope it worked out well in the end! ☺️

The sound and dreadful glottal stops were awful on this otherwise good video.

Hi Helen, thank you for your feedback regarding the sound quality. Although I have no professional equipment or training in videography I will try to improve if I make another video. I’m very sorry that you felt the need to comment on the way that I speak though. This is not constructive criticism, just mean spirited and irrelevant. I am very happy that you enjoyed the actual sewing content/purpose of the video.

Thanks for the feedback. The video making is definitely not my area of expertise, for the future I’ll see if the music can dip down while I’m speaking.

I just take a 10’ x 10’ square, fold in half along the diagonal and stitch one side. Fold with the seam centre back and trim off the excess small triangle.

  • @MariKayCreations
    @MariKayCreations 3 года назад

I like the tip of cutting the kite shape instead of triangles - will save a lot of time, as the bunting I need to make will be more like 10-20 metres long!!

Hi! I love this tutorial and just have one question - when you stitch the lining pieces together, they should be right sides together, right? It’s hard to tell in the video. That way the raw edge will be between the lining and outer fabrics when you turn it out. Right? Thanks!!

Is the pattern available online? It seems very complicated to draw it yourself.Your pattern design seems to be the secret to the fit of the mask.I love your masks, especially the lovely Libery of London fabrics.

I love the choice of fabric! The day of the dead is a religious celebration in Mexico, this very lovely fabric is a different choice for a stocking but no less appropriate than any other religious symbolism i.e. Jesus CHRIST being tortured on a cross. Merry Seasonal Greetings! Keep going ashwood fabrics. Xxx
