I'm the type of person who just wants to try a bite of everything on the menu rather than a big dinner plate. Such quirky traits of mine, combined with an ever-growing passion for cooking/baking and a love for wine, led me to create Sip & App as a place to share my favorite recipes in small bites or appetizer sizes. I hope you'll try making some of my recipes and start entertaining at home, where you actually can enjoy a bite of everything.
Easy & Budget-Friendly Appetizers | Salmon Cakes with Horseradish Cream Sauce
Crab cakes might be the king of seafood cakes, but we sometimes need an equality delicious and satisfying seafood dish that won't break the bank. Go ahead and double or trip this recipe and feed the crowd with no guilt.
Makes 8-10 Mini Cakes
Ingredients:
**Salmon Cakes** (also works with Tuna)
6 OZ Canned or Freshly Cooked Salmon (weight after draining liquid)
3 TBSP Bread Crumbs
1 Small Egg
2 TBSP Onions Finely Chopped
2 TBSP Bell Peppers Finely Chopped
1 TBSP Fresh Dill Finely Chopped
1 TBSP Fresh Parsley Finely Chopped
1 tsp Fresh Garlic Grated
1 TBSP Capers (drained) Finely minced
2 TBSP Sour Cream
2 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
½ tsp Lemon Zest
¼ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Black Pepper
½ Cup Panko Bread Crumbs for Fryi...

@@SipandApp i m sorry i say so because i just dicovered Aquafaba and it is amazing , like in a chocolate mousse , just with a little chocolate , it tadtes like eating the essence of chocolate , incredible ...i guess with Macha it would suit very well the purpose too
Absolutely! In fact, I was plant-based for a period of time, and I experimented a lot with Aquafaba - great stuff!! Maybe I should revisit those recipes sometime.

I have made these with ground chicken instead of pork. Although they will be less juicy, they will still be delicious and way better than any store-bought ones. Happy cooking!😃

My oven is rubbish - can I cook them in an air fryer and if so, what time/temp should I use?
I'm sorry to hear about your oven! I wish I knew the answer, as I don't (yet) own an air fryer. I have heard that it's like a mini convection oven, so if you are up for an experiment, I would maybe lower the temp and time a little and see. Say 375F and start checking around 12 minutes? Let me know if you ever try it!
