Yeah, we were just used to the slow move speed. But there are a lot more ways to get around in Morrowind than meets the eye. Intervention spells, for example, or just carrying less stuff with you. Either way, without a compass, you have to use landmarks and context clues to figure out where you're going, so moving fast isn't necessarily better. I like the roleplaying aspect, too. Using silt striders or Recall feels like your character using the tools they have available to make their life easier, while modern fast travel feels like you, the player, are just trying to skip a "boring" part of the game. Similar end result, but with different vibes. Morrowind was my first-ever RPG, and I will always love it. There are plenty of flaws (like assassins from a high-level DLC attacking you at level 1), but also plenty of great design (like the journal). Skyrim is a great game and I like it, but I don't get the same joy from it as I do from Morrowind. Finally, if you ever truly get stuck on a rock, you can use the "~" key to open the console and enter the command "FixMe".

the higher your alchemy level the more likely you will discover effects from eating ingredients and the more likely you will be able to create potions; you can also find recipes or just try every combination but you need at least a mortar and pestle in your inventory to do alchemy. I think every 15 levels of alchemy more effects can be discovered (each ingredient has 4). Morrowind is 100% designed for you to make multiple characters. Unless you spend a lot of gold upgrading alchemy to adecent level or you started with alchemy as a major or minor, I wouldn't bother and would stay within the realms of the "build". between potions, enchantments, schools of magic and scrolls, there are different ways to achieve the same results.

"How did you stand the move speed when this game came out?" Short answer? We were used to it. "Sprinting" wouldn't be a common thing for a few more years at the time the game was released. Longer answer, there's an artifact called the "Boots of Blinding Speed"; it improves your speed by 200. When we learned where that was, we used it HEAVILY. There's a few tricks to using it, but I'll leave that for you to figure out. Also, A good idea is to learn where the fast travel vendors will take you. Besides Silt Striders, there are boats and teleport services from Mage's Guilds. I almost always play a mage, myself. Mark/Recall, Divine intervention, Almsivi Intervention and levitate all give you a huge mobility boost and allow you to be wherever you want with a bit of planning, and they make wayfinding very simple "How did you deal with getting stuck?" The journal and the map, asking NPCs every question we can and making sure to follow directions from questgivers, as those are usually very good. "Was it as mindblowing then as when Skyrim came out?" I admit, I'm biased. That said, I honestly was not impressed by Skyrim. "How did you feel about Morrowind when it first came out?" Absolutely mesmerized, it was another fantasy RPG life sim like Daggerfall, with a lot of Quality of Life additions, and not too many features cut. I spent literally thoudands of hours in Morrowind. I honestly feel that Bethesda had been in decline ever since, as they never made a game truly like Daggerfall or Morrowind ever again.

It is much slower paced than the later Bethesda games, and it has begun to show its age, but it is a VASTLY deeper experience. To bring Morrowind up to a more modern standard, I highly recommend OpenMW, which also has VR options that I can confirm do work very well. 0.01 "Hey! That's the music from Skyrim!" Ha! That's a good one XD. Jeremy Soule is an amazing composer and is responsible for the music here, in Oblivion, ESO, and as you joked, Skyrim. The music in previous games was composed by Eric Heberling, who is also fantastic. It keeping encyclopedic accounts on top of reading like a book of your adventures is something I sorely miss in later games. Best to move it to an easier key. OpenMW has more options to improve that. 57:00 There is a jump. I believe the default binding is "E". I definitely swapped it with the activate key. Nicely done. enjoy the game, its quite the experience. modded morrowind is still getting new mods to this day & its definitely an interesting experience however u play it
