Testing out my new world generation methods, layers can be stacked on top of each other now.
What's shown in this video is very excessive and not representational of the final mod, it won't be a bunch of the same rooms vertically.

Surprisingly good all things considered. MSPT never surpasses 50 even while traveling at entirely unrealistic speeds. There is still more work to be done though.

New iteration of the drone swarm mining system that is far faster, making use of 9 drones equip with atomic dissasemblers, instead of just 6. I will release this script and the API I am writing for pneumaticcraft drones to make them easier to use in a little while, still fixing some of the issues with filtering items and fluids.

Improved the block scanner from the earlier video, may make a tutorial on this soon. It uses the geoscanner from the advancedperipherals mod to scan an 8x8 area around a turtle, the turtle filters out most of the tags on the blocks to reduce size before serializing and transmitting over a websocket. In the current version, blocks that don't have an assigned color appear as a transparent purple....

you should also add hallways with turns leading to pits, and other giant areas with different wallpapers.
Im currently working on making the world generation functions parametric so I can easily add different layers actually, definitely gonna be adding pitfalls and the area underneath them eventually. There is actually a layer of perlin noise currently that creates large empty spaces its just pretty rare, kinda surprised i didn't run into one during this test though.

It is a separate dimension, Immersive portals is used for the seamless transfer

I think 7700x is a lot better than the cpu people normally use, but even consider this tested on 7700x, I also think this is quite light cpu usage too. With your previous video I think this is in a new dimension, and I'm wondering how did you implement this. (like a minecraft vanilla system or something?) I can't wait to see what more will be added
Once I have a more finished version I’ll be testing on a Xeon E5-2670 on my server, and intel i7 11th gen CPU on my laptop. If any performance issues do arise elsewhere there is plenty of room for optimization

Amazing. I like the mod. But the walls are a bit too tall I think the thing I like about the real backrooms is that it feels "cozy" and small
The walls were made to mimic those in the Kane pixels series, the 5 block tall walls are there to accommodate the roughly 2x4 meter threshold, as well as making the space generally more useful for building stuff.
You know actually, I can just make ceiling height a config option, that isn't too difficult actually.

How did you get chat and players working?!
Just realized my previous reply never sent sorry, it uses a base station with a chat box and player detector also connected to the websocket. Only downside is it needs to be chunk loaded as well which adds another ender eye if nothing but AP is available for loading. Despite how long it’s been taking I am still working on this as well, doing a complete redesign with a much more efficient method for rendering blocks

I came across it in the 1.6.2 days and have just been messing with it ever since, I can’t really remember where I first found it but probably a mod review video. I had to use this ancient iMac to play the game and I still don’t know how I managed with 4GB of RAM. Still kinda insane to think that was over 10 years ago now. Anyway should have this software out sometime soon hopefully.

It’s just red concrete, The blocks themselves are just a visual for the defined area, not really part of the script

Completely unrelated question, what is your method to bypass the limit of air the pneumaticcraft drone has to teleport? I'm currently trying to set up a system to set up a defense area with my drones near anywhere in my world, and i'm currently struggling to find a way to teleport my drones past around 500 blocks due to the lack of pressure, and teleportation limit. 👍 Edit: Thank you! i will experiment further
Something could have very well changed, but my drones just had volume and inventory upgrades and that’s it really (besides the minigun ones on some). Idk if any updates were made to the drone logic I’ll have to test it
@@Minecraft-3699 Ohhh i think it's because i needed to load the chunks first? cause i tried teleporting my drone to an unexplored chunk, then i teleported myself there via commands & went back, boom! the drone could teleport there!
@@rabbitmunchervi2 ohhh yeah my drones only teleport long ranges because the player is actively riding them loading the chunks.
Hello, I can't seem to get the drones to react to any input I do via computer craft, the drone is linked to the interface and I can send commands but it doesn't do anything
What action are you trying to do? I think I forgot to metnion it in this one but there is a setSides() i beleive it is function that defines which block side a drone can interact with, i'd try doing setSides() with six true values so all sides of the block can be interacted with
What mods/modpack do you use for these?

interesting project, are there any plans to add things such as a way to manage the turtle's inventory and more player-like control? by player-like control I mean a way to move around (more efficiently than that WASD) and dig without using the console
there are keyboard controls for placing (up and down too), digging (up and down too), movement annd theres also an inventory screen that appears when you hit tab that I completely forgot to show lol, its not very good though its just a list basically and you can click something to select it and right click it to drop it

Use the tostring() function on the transmitter and the tonumber() function on the receiver alternatively look into the textutils.serializeJSON() function as it is objectively one of the best ways to send any type of data in an easy to receive format

I can’t seem to find it, don’t worry though you can probably make something infinitely better anyway, all the thing does is deserialize the json message from the turtle, iterate through all the blocks, and create objects on screen. I think I used a table to relate tile name to color but yeah that’s about it

Ik it's been like a year since this was uploaded, but I don't really see anyone else programming pneumaticraft drones on YT. The mods happens to be in a modpack I'm playing with friends but I haven't quite gotten around to playing with it. Is there a way to program a drone to actively follow the player, as a sort of defensive sentry?
oh yeah totally, I actually made a script for that and also one that loop kills people until it runs out of minigun ammo its pretty hilarious. basically the trick is to define a large zone around the player's position (obtain via AP player detector or pocket computer GPS) then when the player gets further away from the drone but not to the edge of the zone, move the zone again and tell the drone to come to the player, this way the player is always within that attack entity zone and any target within the area will be obliterated by miniguns edit: also make sure to use the abandon action function so the drone doesn't get stuck after changing the area.

These are programmed in lua, it’s an absolute trash programming language, but it is extremely easy to use
