Drive System First Test

First test with both tread sections connected. At first I blew several sets of fuses, but after loosening the tension as well as upgrading to 20amp fuses, the drive seems to work really well. At 6volts it travels at a very nice speed on hard surfaces, but nearly ground to a halt on thick grass. I might need to run at a full 12volts to realize the drives full potential, and reduce the speed thro...

First test of my home built WALL-E track drive. The wheels were hand fabricated from wood, then cast in silicon rubber. The final parts were cast using urethane rubber, similar in density to shopping cart wheels. The motor is an NPC Robotics 2212 12volt DC gear motor. In the video I am running at only 6volts for testing purposes...at 12volts it would be nearly twice as fast. I will be casting u...

Here is my WALL-E painted with Equipment Yellow. It was the closest I could get to CAT yellow and I think it looks good. I think I will need to put one more coat of the yellow before I paint the flat black.

can you tell the about the conveyer belt you are using. Where did you get it from?
Not sure if you found your answer, but to anyone else looking search for "821 conveyor track". It's used in industrial applications and very durable.

They didn't have blue prints. They studied blue ray copies of the movies to determine the scale and size of the parts.
