    hi buddy, thanks for your helpful video. you said “not registering my keys anymore”. did you talk with an ecu programmer about that issue? w163 has aam module and one of ecu programmers around here said we can reprogram it. and one another ecu programmer said aam module issue cant be fixed. so i’m confused before trying your solution.

    • @gasNgears
      @gasNgears 2 месяца назад

      Hi bud, my module was busted too so instead of chasing old modules and reprogramming I went for an easier solution. The biggest question is, is it worth it to pay all that money for module/key reprograming on these old suv's! I would just use the multimeter to see if the wires have operational and just tap into them the way I did. But if you wanna keep the ML pristine and don't mind spending the coin then the reprogramming would be the best choice. Cheers.

    I've watched you other video too for the fuel pump itself. Did you do the fuel pump or the fuel filter first? Which one is more important to do first? I would imagine the filter first so you're not running your brand new fuel filter dry when trying to depressurize? Just a thought.

    • @gasNgears
      @gasNgears 2 месяца назад

      I had to do the fuel pump first, it died on me before I even made it home after purchasing the car. If you have no issues with your fuel pump then, I rekn you should just change the filter first! It would be beneficial to get the dirty filter out so your pump can work properly. Cheers!

    • @gasNgears
      @gasNgears 2 месяца назад

      @Leo70780 those are one of the best series of W163, in my opinion. Too bad they were not sold in North America. Those engines, with timely maintenance, can last forever. They are getting up there in age nowadays, so the turbo needs replacing or rebuilding. Common problems I heard of are to do with the steering rack. I would buy a cdi W163 in heart beat as long as there is somewhat required of maintenace performed in the past.

      I would look to see if the face of the fuel lines got scratched or nicked at all during the removal mate. Sometimes it may look ok until further inspection we don’t see slight imperfections that lead to fuel leak under pressure. Could be a something in the way, small enough to cause an imperfect seal. • @gasNgears

      @seankellogg6154 I had really loose steering feel to my ML. It required a lot of input to turn and there was a tonne of false play in the steering. It was vibrating at higher speeds as well. Easiest way to check would just undo the nut and feel the elbow joint. More than likely it's shot because of the sheer weight of these things and how long they have been around for. Hope it helps. Cheers.
