Great video. You dont happen to have the sizes that you made it to so i can get a local fabrication shop to make me one.
@northeastgaragemonkey i'll measure the size when I get home today and update the info here bud.
@gasNgears that would be great. Thank you
The length of the shifter is 7 inches. 3/8th of an inch from the end point to shifter lever hole. 1inch from the pivot end to the mounting bolt hole. 3/8 th of an inch total width. 1 inch and 3 quarters at the rear pivot end where you'll put the mounting bolt to the frame. You'll need to shim the lever according to the thickness of the metal you use and your lever adjustments. Hope this helps your project! Cheers
@@gasNgears much appreciated 🙏 I will give this to my local fabrication shop and see how they get on.
Well done! Nice video. Mine is a RHD W163. I have those leaks in both the driver and the passenger footwells. Are there 2 drain pipes on either side of the sunroof? Thanks. Rob Fowler
Cheers @Robfowler4499, as far as I am aware 99% there's suppose to be two drains for the sunroof, one on each side. I had a leak only on the right hand side but have heard multiple people say they had leaks on both sides. Yours might be similar situation. Leaking on both left and right hand side drains.
Hail the algorithm! 😊
how many pin ?
Job well done ✅👍🏾
Torx E 40? Good?
I just did mine today,i had pull the coolant reservoir been right hand drive it's got the brake booster in the way,but i dont think its ever been off ,it definitely goes better and smoother...! Now i will wait for the transmission dipstick to arrive and do the trans fluid change.. cheers man..
@Wilt8v92 glad to hear that your rig is running sweet!
Those headlights are probably the easiest i pulled out of any vehicle ever! Good video,i gonna check mine whiles its Summer,i hate water leaks into the cabin!
Can't stand the water in the carpet myself.
Have done a throttle body clean on the ML ? I thinking about doing mine while have some time it's summer Xmas holiday down here!
@Wilt8v92 miss xmas in the summer myself. Its misrable weather here, rainy and cold. Can't do nothing. 😆
Good, clear, and accurate instructions. Thank you for the effort you put into the video.
@@DavidGrapesVinyard glad you like it. 👍
I have an ML430.and its got 4 piston calipers with pins you tap out, completely different to this one..
@@Wilt8v92 do you have the ml55 brake package by any chance?
Yeah thats what I thinking,I have only had it a year,it's got 18inch AMG wheels and I was going to put some 16 inch off-road wheels on it but calipers fouled on the rim! Cher's from NZL mate
@Wilt8v92 I rekon you got the best brake setup for these beasts, mate. Awesome stopping power with 4 pots.
Why wouldn't this work in a 1999 ML320 w163
@pennypug97 the face-lift Ml350 has different wiring to early Ml320.
Get a lot of enjoyment watching your videos , they are very informative .🦘
@Leo70780 thanks so much.
Nice video keen on the ista link. I've too been at it with my new to me X3 3.0si, German spec only 100000miles but it's had water pump thermostat, diff, xfer case, transmission fluid service. New valve cover, serpentine belt and tensioner, eccentric shaft sensor, vanos solenoids since I bought it 3 months ago. Money must flow🎉
@jschoombee mine isn't much different bud. I have changed plugs, valve cover, ofhg and oil cooler gasket, intake manifold gaskets, cleaned throttle body, change ccv hoses, got the brakes sitting waiting to put on, changed transmission oil, diff oil and dealing with electric gremlins on daily basis. But it's a hoot to drive when it does work. Here is where you can find the ista www.e60e61.club/index.html?fbclid=IwY2xjawG5njlleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHeJZ2Flz8J1KjO5jq4rT4C_jpVTdr0I5BL253IprgCxXdXEHjXzVeP-KLg_aem_5mvPO9djsTNaXxGRY8kZmw#about Hope it helps.
Luckily there are so many great resources available for DIY, and not too complicated to work on. It's worth the effort to keep them on the road, they drive comfortably. Thanks for the share
Wondering how to drain the rest of the fluid from the radiator and torque converter
@JoshuaLivingston you could use a fluid extraction pump from the dipstick and suck it out that way. Or change the fluid and drive a little and change again. That way you can replace the fluid in the torque convertor with the freshly added and that gets the most of fluid refreshed. Hope it helps.
Hello, "Gas n’ Gears" I was analyzing your channel and saw that in your channel have some problem, That's why your channel is not much growing and not getting much engagement, If you can solve these problems, Your channel will grow like a storm. If you tell I can tell these problems. Where can I tell? Here or ig or where?
I’ve been wanting an E83 for some time. Looking forward to following this project! Good work!
@mikem5922 its a fun little suv especially with an N52 engine. This one needed rescuing for sure but it still quit an impressive suv performance wise. Can't go wrong with these, parts are not bad pricewise and readily available.
@ it sure sounds like it does it all. I’m hoping to use it as still fun for me to drive family car for my wife, one child and I. I hear the N52 is a great little engine.
@mikem5922 n52 will keep a smile on your face everytime you floor it. Not bad on gas either. Just needs maintenace upkeep and it's golden.
I just picked up a 2009 X3 that was taken care of, not to much wrong with it, but I’m pretty much doing all the preventative maintenance on it, as well as rust removal, body correction, and new paint. It’s been expensive so far but it will be worth it when everything is done. Keep at it homie. ✊🏽💯
@RezHardHitter23 congrats man!
Deferred maintenance is a killer ( and quick cheap improper repairs too) !
Interesting tattoo?
hi, thx for video. i have the same problem with my driver heater seat, have u resolve it ? the wiring it the same on passenger seat but not working...
Yes, my seats work perfectly now bud. I needed up taking the R56 wiring module out and soldered the wiring directly. The top and bottom seat heating element wires go together into the R53 harness and they both work without any issues. Let me know if you need any more info on that. 👍
I have this exact problem, thanks for the video guys!!!
Do u prefer B4 that restores the handle’s capabilities like it was brand new? Or do u wish u go for the B6 for increase handling and reduce bodyroll, no dive, and back dip when u throttle, but sacrifice the comfort a bit?
@toyotabrony it's perfect for my daily driving purposes. I smash this car around like it's a track build and never have any issues. I also ended up putting new poly bushes for the front suspension arms and new bushes for both the sway bars and its got barely any body at all. Best part is how well it soaks up the bad pot holes. B6 is little pricey and harsh but at that price point I would go buy orange koni struts on sale instead.
@@gasNgears now are the B4 bit firmer since even though it’s oem replacement, they make a slight firmer than oem?
@toyotabrony the shot oem that I took out that were no absolutely trash. These ones corner/handle great around corners. Still firmer but have a nice rebound to them.
@@gasNgears now who’s the bodyroll, nose dive, and back dip when throttle from green light? And did it settle down a bit after first week?
Just watching the video again , and i have to say it's very informative , the bit towards the end , the gear shift to get the trans fluid circulating , i would've never thought of that , Thanks 👍
Does fuel cap look when doors are locked?
@lmhholding yes it does. All the systems work the same.
Yes thanks for the help, knew everything about my 64 impala, but nothing about one of these, seen in the comments that someone has the same problem as me, ran fine, put 91 gas as always it acts like it wanted to start, but won't and after a few times it wouldn't even hit, after setting a few it does the same thing
@Daniel-e1k3n does the fuel pump makes priming noise after you turn on the ignition? It does sound like a fuel pump issue bud.
Hi. Im installing KSP spacers in my Ford SUV, the questions is with torque specification I should be using: from factory or the KSP specification?
@duvieskytg711 I would torque the spacers to the hub with Ford specs and wheel to the spacers with KSP spec, mainly because KSP knows the grading of the metal and would suggest tq value accordingly. Is the spacer specific to your suv?
Hi, which website did you order the stuff from?
@samtohidi1631 I got a great deal from Facebook marketplace on the pulley and the pulley puller tool was from amazon.com.
could you just remove the the bottom radiator hose to drain the radiator ?
Yes, you can
For the front, lift both wheels of the car at the same time on jack stands. Sway bar links will be much easier. Also just need the pinch bolt, sway bar link bolt, and 3 top nuts. I just did this in a university parking lot. P.S. Very nice looking car ! ! !
@@Mini-Driver appreciate the information. Thank you.
Poor fuel mileage is from anti-knock agents, anti-oxidants, metal deactivators, lead scavengers, anti-rust agents, anti-icing agents, upper-cylinder lubricants, detergents, ethanol and dyes put into gasoline in 2024. This results in poor fuel mileage, but you cant stop it.
wHEN DO YOU UNPLUG THE CONNECTOR? BEFORE OR AFTER YOU REMOVE THE PAN?
You can remove the plug without removing the pan. It does makes it easier with the pan off though.
Great video! With this unit can you control the music from the steering wheel switches?
Yes, steering controls remain functional after this module. That was one of the main reasons why I liked it for my own car. Cheers.
Don't need to pull shroud...pull starter through bottom bend your water hose away and yoink.
Thanks for this! I'm going to follow this tutorial when I fit my new seats!
The small medal pieces that you took out probably did more harm then good...
uleiu din CONVERTIZOR cum curge??
what where your problems with it to cause you to change them? i have some extremely harsh ride . To the point i have to stop and check for damage every time i hit any size pothole. it sends a massive impact shockwave through the entire vehicle.
Exactly what I was looking for👍
What was the parts used to get the filter in the lid
Good evening, please share the on line store you purchased all the parts filter etc..
Don't have to remove the tie rod. Pinch bolt yes (18mm), link stabilizer (16mm), 3 top nuts (13mm). Did the job yesterday.
I only needed to see how to correctly re-attach the door panel to a W163. Thanks for the great content!
Great job fellas 👍🏿
for the wiring four direction light?
@williamagostini5043 you can connect the blinkers to the security module under the steering column, that way you'll have the working flashers while locking and unlocking. Cheers.
@@gasNgears Do you have any pictures or directions on where to connect exactly?
Crazy that the dealer and some independent German car shops want $900 to $1000 to do this fvcking job. Insane.
@Big_Island_Boi Dealers are unreal with their rates and shop times. Nothing is cheap at the shops, unfortunately. It's a fairly straightforward job and doesn't take too much time.
I going to do my ML430 save me 500$ ..in NZL !
My transmission slips under sudden power, so i simply pull over turn engine off for half a minute if that & restart engine & drive off...sure the filters dirty & the solenoids need changing but who has money these daze for that...?
Sounds like your transmission plug adapter is bad. $10 part off Rock Auto. Common issue, the electrical plug as mentioned in this video.
Great work! just a quick question, whats the parts number for the fuel pump, mine failed today, and im looking for parts. Thanks
@zuochen5909 www.pelicanparts.com/byv-cooper-cooper-s-r50-r52-r53/b-genuine-mini/c-fuel-intake_c-fuel-system_c-fuel-pumps Hope this helps bud.
How did yours act when it went out, mine hits like it wanted to, then nothing, set for a while and then same thing, if you see this please let me know
@Daniel-e1k3n easy way to check is to remove the rear seat and the tap on the fuel pump itself. Most of the time, it will start working for a little bit. That way, you can tell if it is dying or if the issue is somewhere else. Hope it helps.
Really useful video, many thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
How long for RTV to set . and what is RTV , I'm a novice just learning . Great Video 👍
hi buddy, thanks for your helpful video. you said “not registering my keys anymore”. did you talk with an ecu programmer about that issue? w163 has aam module and one of ecu programmers around here said we can reprogram it. and one another ecu programmer said aam module issue cant be fixed. so i’m confused before trying your solution.
Hi bud, my module was busted too so instead of chasing old modules and reprogramming I went for an easier solution. The biggest question is, is it worth it to pay all that money for module/key reprograming on these old suv's! I would just use the multimeter to see if the wires have operational and just tap into them the way I did. But if you wanna keep the ML pristine and don't mind spending the coin then the reprogramming would be the best choice. Cheers.
Great video, i am just doing my triumph tiger 955 because it has a sticky clutch,
