Red, Here we are in 2024. the election has been held and the people have spoken. There s still a threat to our republic even though we voted to revive the spirit of America. It comes from within our own people . I would bet you never saw that one coming. But either did a lot of us. We have a lot of soul searching to do. but in my heart i feel some how we will get our beautiful nation back on the path to glory. By the grace of God we can and must. The world misses your smile and wisdom. May you rest in peace , our beloved Red....I love you.

I remember watching this when it aired. We did not believe that it was being argued as a prayer. Did I come from a very patriotic town? I didn't think so. I remember my friends and I thought we were the typical town in the USA. Obviously not! It did not happen immediately, but it did eventually happen. Saying the words does not make you patriotic, but actively working towards taking structure out of the school system is not patriotic. We see that today, that talk about patriotism is "racist." Those that condemn it do not even know what the meaning of racism is.

This truly makes me sad that today's children aren't taught the Pledge of Allegiance instead of standing for it people have taken to the knee and follow former Football player who doesn't love this country. I too am so glad that Mr. Skelton isn't alive to see this. Rest in Peace Red Skelton

Please don’t make this a political issue. Gun laws should be enforced. Especially high power combat weapons that should only be in the hands of our military. We have lost many people to gun violence whether by mentally unstable people or by angry people using guns to solve their problems. We are not in the Wild West where they would shoot someone because they called them a name. You talk about prayer being taken out of schools, so which prayers should we pray? The Protestant, the Catholic, the Christian, the Buddhist, the Devil Worship prayers or the atheist? Our ancestors came to this country to flee from persecution of forced religion and America was a place to worship the way people wanted in a religion that they chose and still can choose. I love that Mr. Skeleton recorded this video but you are taking it out of context to what he was saying and meaning.

I don’t even know if they said the pledge of allegiance every morning anymore. When I grew up in a country school, we said the pledge before starting class and offered thanks before we had dinner because there were other kids worse off than us. I wouldn’t trade my raising for nothing. We were made aware and conscious of what these men did that came before us to have the freedom we enjoy.

I wish someone would do this skit again.

It’s interesting. You worry about “under God” and “The Right to Bear Arms.” But you completely ignore where he talked about how this great Republic is represented by the people; the leaders work for the people, not the other way around. Now, we have someone who just successfully argued to a Supreme Court - one-third of which he personally appointed - that he is now above the law. Something tells me Red would be spinning in his grave at that thought.

A girl I'm talking to is not from the united states, but is living here. I believe that she is patriotic for this country and is doing the hard work required to become a united states citizen. I just shared this with her tonight after having a very long conversation about politics, Human rights, Accountability, Religion and the bill of rights, along with the constitution. It is my hope. The sharing things like this will continue to light a spark to keep the greatness of america going and share it with other countries.
