Old Emmer is Barton. Had some earlier this year and agreed..it wasn't that bad at all. I am shocked to hear it beat NBC Barrels For Hope and RR15 though. What the heck happened here?

I was pretty disappointed with this one. Mostly in relation to its price. At the very least give it to us at 114 proof.

I'm a Big Bardstown fan, big. This is very good. The price is the absolute bardstown killer. 90 vs 150, its not even close. This is better or as good as any of the bardstown I have had.

Picked up 2 bottles last week. I actually really like this wheated bourbon.

I agree. Barrel is killing it with their finishing projects. They let the finish complement the whiskey. Bardstown has some I thought were amazing, some of which I have bunkered bottles, and others I thought were awful. Four gate also finishes well but price is hard to swallow. Doc Swinsons does some nice work too. I’ll have to track this bottle down.

I agree, i went to the distillery last month and this was the only thing i thought was worth the money after tasting all of their whiskeys. I ended up buying it. I heard their Gin is very good.

Great review guys! Sounds like you like the Olorosso Sherry finish for the same reasons we did, it wasn’t overly finished. McCauley didn’t even bring this barrel out for us at first. We tasted about 14 barrels and we were really leaning towards a unique MGP mashbill single barrel of 51%bourbon and 49% malted rye. McCauley said he had that same mashbill finishing in Olorrosso Sherry so we convinced him to let us taste it and fell in love. Prior to that we had fell in love with the White Port but felt it may be too sweet for some palates so we bought both barrels making the Sherry our membership bottle and offering the white port for those willing to take a chance on fat kid whiskey. I’m not surprised it didn’t land as well with Chuck but as a fat kid, I freaking love it! The White Port was also a short barrel only yielding about 90 bottles

I have a Dark Arts double barrel from Taste Select Repeat. Its a 9.5 year at cask strength. It's supposed to be the first single barrel ever released from Dark Arts. I am happy to get you guys a sample through Brian if you would like. Just let me or Brian know. Great video. I need to try a different Dark Arts other than the one I own. I always hear great things. My first impression on the Hardens Creek corn whiskey wasn't good, however, I had just had 3-4 pours of some extremely good and higher proof barrel picks at a bottle share. I will give it a fair shake and try it again, as a single pour.

Random... I just watched the latest Whiskey Vault video featuring Mellow Corn and was thinking I should try to find a reasonable blind that included Mellow Corn. As I went to type in the search, this video dropped into my feed. Amazing... the algorithm is undefeated! I have the 3 bottle sample pack of Hardin's Creek bottles from last year... are those all 2 years or just one of them? I've been reluctant to crack those and worried that I made a mistake buying them for the club... sounds like you guys ride hard for a few of them.

I bought one bottle of FEW and almost poured it into the toilet. Concerns about infecting the water supply stopped me from doing that. It’s in a landfill.

YASSSS! That's the FEW pick our whiskey club did with SavWay. I'm sure Ed can supply all the details, but I can confirm we thieved out of full size barrels. The note that sticks out to me is cherry cordial... kind of dark fruit syrupy sweetness, but I agree there is a good bit of oak balancing things out. Glad you liked it. Cheers!

Nice to see Cody on! I’m not surprised by this at all. In my review of Russell’s 15 I thought it even reminded me of ECBP batches. ECBP B524 is a heck of a batch! Great blind guys!
