You are my hero! Troubleshooting my Kienzle 1318-27 the clockspring jumped out of the white gear part and made other gear parts jump out. This video was so incredibly helpful to put it back together! (I used a ring on my battery screwdriver that held the D-side of the axis with the ring forcing the clock spring back into the gear and keeping it there, it was annoyingly precise work to do :P )

Hi man, sorry for late answer. Your screen is dead, you need to change it. Find tacho workshop i bet they have screen.

Bro. Could you contact me? I need help. Stuck in limp mode after disconnecting permanent positive from this type tacho. I don;t have any discs to try, i never needed discs in the unit before. It was running my batteries flat but now i'm stuck. Tried ecu from donor van with same engine 2.2L but without tacho swapped from 311 CDI to 411 CDi. now getting "start error" on dash. I used his console, his IMMO box and his key held next to mine at the barrel. MY van has the KITAS sensor by the prop shaft not sure what the donor van has as i only just found the sensor on mine. Could it just be the sensor or different wiring to the ecu? What other hacks can i try? I looked inside the tacho as i had to fix power to the chassis. for some reason it developed a 100ohm resistance between the ground pin and the tacho unit chassis to i bridged to next pin down and got full power back, lcd was still working but had lost backlight and eject function. back working now. I saw 2x jumper cables in the tacho unit, not sure if this was a previous hack. I was able to run the van without discs but now it seems to act like it wants a disc but i only have a blank plastic one from another vehicle. This plastic disk is recognised in driver 2 slot but not in driver 1 slot. At the time when the tacho lost partial power it was when i was testing the van with the plastic disk for the 1st time and it was in driver 1 slot. I have ordered some regular paper tacho discs to see if that stops limp mode. is this normal? Can i just use slot 2 with no disc in slot 1? is it normal for the van to be rev limited when the TCO light is on? and or why can i not get the ecu from the donor vehicle to work? Any help much appreciated. Thanks.
#MNMechanic Is there anything i can do or did wrong? I have a kienzle (which looks very similar to this taco) in a 2002 sprinter box cd411 It was killing my batteries in the winter when i didn't use the van and they froze up and died so i decided to remove the permanent positive and run it to the ignition switch. It seems ever since this i've been in limp mode and i can hardly make it up the hill. I put the permanent positive back how it was but it keeps going back into limp mode. Have i un-hacked my taco? I only use the van locally and don't require one as such. Then i tried a blank plastic disc as i had no discs, i got this from an older taco in another truck i have. I took the van for a spin but then i could no longer eject and the light on the display would not come on any more although the lcd was still working. I found that there was 100 ohm resistance between the large brown earth wire and the chassis of the unit so i tied the pin with brown wire to the next pin down which takes negative back to the units chassis and the light came back on, the machine ejects ok now. Dunno why there is 100 ohms between the ground in pin and chassis? So, i did not try to drive it again since as i can't really see what difference it will make. Do i need to take it to a Mercedes garage to get the tack limit deleted? / removed. Is there a trick i can do to get my power back? Another thing happened earlier while i was trying to test it. Now i have a warning light for malfunction of traction control. No idea how that happened either. Is it normal that this type of tampering causes limp mode to kick in? How can i get my power back? Thanks.
