Fighting cane self-defense might work also... but the cane has to be made out of a stronger material, like the "all terrein cane", or an actual custom martial arts cane. 🤷

My baby is blind because of retinopathy of prematurity stage 5 . Can you help me how to learn him speaking - using toilet _ eating & all skills ?? He is 2 years old & we are Egyptians. In our country there's no learning for blind babies to communicate with world . Please help me please.😥😥😥

Powerful plea Cathy - thank you for your service to our community and state. And thank you Lighthouse Central Florida, Lighthouse Works and all the programs throughout the State of Florida making a difference for the 2 million Floridians of all ages who are living with blindness, low vision and other visual impairments. Lawmakers, please retain the already extremely limited funding that exists for Blind Babies, Blind Children and Older Adults with Blindness. This investment saves the State of Florida much larger sums on the back end!

It would be great if someone could get through rather than hearing the automated system tell people "we are unable to answer your call at this time" over and over again. Maybe you should add more shifts so people can call late evening or early morning instead of half of Florida trying to get through from 7:30 to 6:30pm during the work week "yea and forget about calling on the weekends".

For example I’ve been through many brain surgeries and Cerebral Palsy and Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and a hip replacement for Osteonecrosis and I also had Osteoarthritis in that same hip.

No I’m not in Florida but I’m in Springfield Missouri and I really think what your doing is a great thing. I was born with a condition called Retinopathy Of Prematurity and I can see, but I am limited so things like walking across a busy street honestly scares me. I'm 24 years old and in 2005 I was diagnosed with a autoimmune disease called Polyarticular Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. I also have an eye disease called Uveitis. I've also been treated for an Iritis.

hello there I'm Sam I hope you're still on RUclips I see most of the comments are from 3 years ago what are very inspiring story and I can honestly say visual impairment doesn't affect the quality of parenting in any way. I too also face the challenge of not being able to drive being as a teenager I wanted to drive so bad but I cannot do to my visual impairment I've had glaucoma most of my life as well not sure if I've had it since birth or not however I was born with nystagmus which is an involuntary movement of the eye which also affects my vision. I don't know if I have the same degree of vision loss as you but I can honestly say the glaucoma has taken most of my peripheral vision I don't see out of the corner of my eyes I am totally blind in my right eye a lot of times when I'm out in a crowded mall or somewhere I cannot see people coming in my direction and I bumped into them all the time depth perception is another problem I have such as stepping off of a bus can be really challenging because I cannot judge the distance of the steps. I've never used a white cane most of my life although I've had the option to do so just never did till now I am actually reconsidering.
