Gary came in as a surprise guest and sat in with local Peoria band, Bubblegum Jack. I apologize for the audio quality of the video, but if you just focus on THE MAN doing what he was born to do on the guitar, it makes up for it! Especially about 1:50 into it. Gary Richrath, your fans are waiting! The stage is where you belong!
What a fucking player... tone, everything fits, most people just don't have that, and I love over the top playing but this is different
Was never a big Gary fan, more a KC fan. But I have to admit he was the master guitar player.
Always his song he looked like hell but still playing awesome
Bruce Hall, though. Pretty awesome!
god did he look like hell ridiculous one of the best gone to shit
So sad, what a great guitarist and such a good looking guy back in the day
I wanna see him without his shirt! Good to see he enjoys his cheeseburgers smothered with gravy.
look at how much fun he's having! we miss you...thanks Gary!
Love how he comes out playing flying turkey trot.
REO's best song and one of my Top 50 all time songs!!!!
Heart and Soul of REO Gary was Epic
A year before his death. RIP legend
Gary was one hell of a guitarist, as well as a song writer. 2 thumbs up buddy. 👍👍
Absolute legend.
This was hard to watch, wish he could have walked away from the drugs and booze, his guitar style made REO the band that it was, he took Kevin's folk lyrics and turned them into iconic rock songs,RIP Gary.
I prefer to watch the 80s Gary, this is so sad to see.
I couldn't watch the whole thing
One of the best this planet has seen. Gary is one of the "God's".
He was such an amazing talented guy. Rest in peace….
Booze is a Fucking "Killer" . Love You Gary .. Thank You for All the Kick Ass Music !!
Gary Richrath ???? What happened to him ??? Is this a joke???
Drugs and alcohol,he couldn't escape those demons
RIP Gary..... you were a much better guitar player than you got credit for!
Sounds like crap!
My band is doing this song in 2024
I love AA. Fan's of Gary should watch this. Amazing what partying does. I'm glad he left this for us. Always mind blowing.
No one do a pinch harmonic solo like Gary could
I saw REO in 1983 when they were headlining a Superjam in Memphis. They were amazing!
I miss him! The music just flowed outta his soul. He played with such ease. His style was like a gentle mountain stream but man when he needed it... he sure could shred it!!!! Saw him with REO he 3-4 times. Loved it.... he is in my personal top 5 guitarist.
He morphed into a hairy Mushroom with a double chin. 😂😂
Absolutely a top tier guitar player, REO speed wagon is Gary....anything sense is a good attempt at the best..
You wouldn't know it was him if they didn't tell you frightening RIP🙏
I don't care what anyone says or thinks I love this guy.
The first time I heard Gary was on the Nine Lives album. I was hooked on them. May he RIP.
Gary was an absolute guitarist extraordinaire. Seen him many times from in front of front row with a photographer pass.
Gary wass my first inspiration to play guitar. REO ( the early years better than after the tuna fish album imo ). Such fun they had as a band, I saw them at the first Monsters of Rock tour in Milwaukee and the energy was fantastic, the band was always tight and sounded freakin great!
About 1990 I delivered a package to him I knocked on door around 1 pm and woke him up. Saw REO in 1974. This is not the same guy?
He was such a great guitar player.
Great cover band!! Drummer sounded really good.
Dude had one hell of a tone! Still one of my favorites! RIP Gary 🎸
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Perhaps he should have stepped away from the dinner, and lunch table a few days a week? Good Lord dude.
He doesn't look like that because of food, drugs and excessive amounts of booze did that to him
Rest In Peace, Gary Richrath🙏
There's the sign of a pro. Broken string? Keep playing.
Holy fuck I think he mighta broke a couple 😂
He sounded good. Still had that great "Gary Tone" to his sound. Sounded liked he'd overcome his "demons" and was living his best life by this point.
I was never the same after buying the REO live album, on cassette! Gary's playing had 90% to do with it!🤟
There is no best or worst guitar players period. Gary more erick Johnson Eddie SRV Alex lifeson Hell I've been playing since 1968 and can play with any of theses dude's Note for note except maybe Alex my point each generation has there favorite. Now Carlos Santana that dude could play.
Who is singing in this clip?
,,,,,,,,,,....WHEN GODS WALKED THE EARTH ,..........,,,❤❤
The Best
One of the greats this guy had that classic gibson vintage sound!! Rip gary
Yeah losing Gary that was a hard one I was so lucky over the years to see him back in the day he never disappointed greatest showman great musician great guitar player all the way around
