The cold weather didn't slow this guy down. We were in the right place at the right time to get some cool footage while doing some pre-season scouting.

Benezette, PA Elk Rut 2020

This video is from a quick ride to Winslow Hill in September of 2020. It features a record setting 11.5 year old 455" bull that was later harvested in the 2020 hunting season. If the score stands, it will be the 6th largest bull elk ever taken by a hunter in nationwide.
it looks like a deer but this is actually an elk
screaming like victreebel
Wow so beautiful
the rut season was so chaos and they goes everywhere😂
Shed hunting, I just don’t get it. I can see scouting and if you happen to see a shed you pick it up. To specifically go out to collect as many sheds as possible? Seems to me people watch too much outdoor TV and blindly follow every trend.
Hi Rich! Honestly, it’s just a fun thing to do from January to early spring when there’s not much else going on. A good excuse to get outside and get some exercise! It’s also another way to get a good inventory of bucks that survived to start setting our sights on next season. It’s a win-win!
"Hey, you wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?" - lloyd Christmas Haha beautiful animals!
This was rut season in November. When all the males were fighting over the females. Shortly after this that their horns will drop. Would you like to come across some of those horns in the woods…. I would. Make a big chandelier out of them to go in a cabin.
This was not November. I am from here. I live Between weedville and Bennezette. This is late september. The Elk Mating season (Rut) , when the buggling is intense runs fro Mid september through early october. Unlike whitetail deer here their peak rut is mid to late november. They lose their horns from late feb on through march. , I saw one with one side left in my yard last april.. we had 6 in our sweetcorn patch on monday
I'm little jealous that most videos of elk are whole herds of them while I on the other hand have mostly seen one or two elk
That is one impressive bull! We have Roosevelt Elk in most of Oregon, what breed is that one?

Isn't he something !!!!!
Where was this in Benezette?
It’s in the woods in the wild
I know this reply is a year later. The location is in North Central Pennsylvania. We travel every year from Pittsburgh, Pa. just to see these magnificent animals. They have the run of the town! But there is a beautiful visitors center not far from town that you can also watch the elk.
Amazing, thanks for sharing!
Magnifique vidéo impressionnant 😲👏🏼
Good stuff Mike!
