2023 anyone?

Been 5 years since I was living in Jakarta. no matter how much I tell people how bad Jakarta is, I still miss Jakarta. For me, it is a perfectly unperfect city. This song is honestly not just about Jakarta for me, its about Indonesia as a country. It's been only 9 months since I left Indonesia, embarking this little journey of mine studying abroad. I remember my last night there, driving through toll dalam kota omw to the airport and savouring the beauty of this city and my last moments in the country as a whole. My last 3 years of living in Indonesia was spent in Bogor, I remember the very moment when my dad broke the news to me that we will be moving there I cried my eyeballs out; and on board my plane I closed my eyes and tears started streaming down as my plane flew its way to where I am now. Can never forget Jakarta or Indonesia. Honestly the best homesick song and a song to reminisce of that former special someone haha :))

Terlalu banyak kenangan di Jakarta, di mana kota itu jadi impian sejak masa kecil. Lalu harus meninggalkan Jakarta dengan alasan keluarga. Ah...masih banyak mimpi di sana, kalau bisa kembali. Meskipun harus berjibaku dengan kemacetan dan segala dramanya, tapi Jakarta bagiku kota kedua. Tempat ku menggantungkan mimpi. I really hard to forget Jakarta. But, hope someday I can go back.

To, Bima. Hi, i've loved and missed u all this time, through these torturous years but im still getting through. I hope u r doing ok and do your job as well too, also u r always healthy is my prayer. I dont understand or maybe i just refuse to understand why we cant just be together but im now or in the future will still be like this. My emotions feel floating, im tired of being sad since its been 4 years since we ended also since i knew this song and play it everytime i feel worst. I guess u have no idea how much i love the sky and let myself spend hours on the rooftop just staring up the sky even since i was kids. U have no idea how this song describes me so well. Jakarta itu seperti seseorang yang tiba-tiba dikenalkan lalu mesti diakrabi. Kepribadiannya menarik walau banyak luka dan misteri, dia tutupi air mata dan carut marut dengan kemegahan dan glamor yang hampa. Aku pindah hidup ke sana 2018 lalu untuk mengamatinya dan mungkin menyembuhkan 'luka'nya dengan resiko aku kehilangan kemanusiawianku. Namun setelah hampir genap satu tahun dia memilih tetap hampa dan luka. Lalu melepasku pulang ke kota asal demi kebaikan bersama. Sebelum segalanya jadi tak terkendali katanya.. Setelah itu semua jadi gamang dan galau. Dua tahun kemudian korona melanda. Aku harap Jakarta baik-baik saja, mungkin suatu hari kamu akan memanggilku lagi dengan suasana yang lebih manusiawi.
