Revived SABRE 76 Jigged Bone Congress #kniferestoration
Finished work on reviving the SABRE 76 Jigged Bone Congress that came in the Red Rose "Can of knives". Cleaned off the rust and grime. Re-profiled the damages sheep foot blade. Cleaned out the gunk. Raised the pen blade from it's deep seat in the channel, using a leather plug. Gave it a light polish.

That said, it's still a cool little knife that I have gotten good use out of. It's not going to chop down a tree, but definitely good for general use and light camp tasks. A good save on a nice old knife!
Man them tiners looking good on that canoe brother. #CanoeCrewStrong 🛶👍👍
Thanks, brother. They look much better off camera, sadly.
Nice little congress after the spa treatment. Lol I can't cut paper on camera either. I gave that up 😂
Haha. I don't know if it's stage fright or just from looking through the camera. I was pleased with how it turned out. Have a great evening.
😎

Potatoes? Is that your secret? It’s looking good, I’m going to get started on mine right shortly. This song takes me back to a certain red head, only took four years for me to drive her crazy. I bet she misses me………nah she doesn’t miss me.😂🤣
Yup, taters. Though the color really doesn't show well on camera. Kinda sucks for a tiner video. I had a couple of redheads in my past, and that's a good place for them to reside. 😋
@@Pocket_EDC 😂🤣😂 I kinda miss mine, I was a drunken fool, so many regrets, so little time. I really lucked out with my current lady, been together twenty years, it’s been awesome........ that is until she saw your video.😂🤣
@@oxyfee6486 😆😂😅 I'm too far away, so no worries. Plus, I have an awesome lady of my own, and she doesn't share. lol I don't miss mine....at least the last one. The first was actually nice. We just didn't vibe well. The last tried to turn this small town boy into a city slicker. That didn't work out well. She would not have been knife-tolerant. She'll probably vote for the guy with the socks.
@@Pocket_EDC Knife Tolerant?😂🤣😂 I love it!! I’m stealing it!😂🤣
@@Pocket_EDC I see St Paul’s in Toronto voted conservative for the first time in 31 years yesterday, let’s hope this is the beginning of the end for Prime Minister Black Face.
That looks great now! Really nice job on it.
Thank you very much. I am pleased with the outcome. Have a great day!
Amazing restoration its such a pretty one to and i absolutely love restoring old knives and watching it to.. if you want that pen blade to sit more flush you can grind a little at a time on the block of steel where the pen blade starts to get it seated a little lower! Cheers though excellent work #BeUp
Thank you very much! I enjoy the process. I find it very relaxing. If the leather doesn't settle, that's an option I'll definitely go with. Thanks for watching. Have a great day!
Glad to see your personal values of how you treat your blade. Pretty cool individual style man. Hey and if I can’t send you a blade I’ll send you a blade I’ll send sticky notes 😅
Thanks, brother. 😂🤣 Yeah, i tend to cut a lot of those up. Thanks for having a look. Take care.
Awesome restoration brother 👍 that’s an old Saber. Lot of those Sabers are quality slip joints
Thank you very much. Turned out well for a knife discarded in an old tea tin. Still a good user today, showing the quality of the past. Have a great day!
Cool knife. Great job getting it cleaned up!
Thank you very much, and thanks for having a look. have a great day!
That’s it!! Can’t watch your videos anymore, just caught my wife watching this video, she said she was curious as to what you looked like after You sent me that awesome knife. 😂🤣 My ex wife was curious too, right before she ran off with my best friend, she even took my dog, I’d do anything to get that dog back. 😂🤣 Great job on the knife, fantastic job my friend, i love old knives. I really appreciate patina the older I get, just a great little knife, well worth the work you put into saving it.👍🇨🇦
😂🤣😒 I think you just wrote the next big country hit song! Thanks, brother. I enjoy the process. Very relaxing. we old things can polish up well. 😁 BTW, I'm still seeing comments about how awesome our car looks. Have a great day!
@@Pocket_EDC If I’m not mistaken I think President Lincoln had a Congress in his pocket the night he was shot. I saw somewhere that it sold for over a hundred thousand dollars. I believe his was white though, well worth looking up, I love history, great knife, not a great night for Lincoln however. You have no idea how proud I’am of that video you made of my car, I’m definitely going to show my buddy’s at the next car show this weekend. Thanks again for everything Todd, it really means a lot to me, that Canoe has been in my pocket since it arrived. I even cut myself right after telling my daughter not to cut herself.😂🤣
I think you are correct on the Lincoln story. Hmmm. $100,000.00? That's cheap by eBay standards 😂. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. You gave me good material to work with. Good for you. Sacrificing a finger to teach a lesson to your daughter 😂. That's good parenting. Maybe though, don't teach her about drowning while kayaking! Glad you're enjoying the knife.
I like where u stopped the clean up. Just looks fantasticly classic now!! Good job 👏🏻 👍👌 Great video as always. Sooooo...i think Davevis saying your the Barry White of the knifetubers now!! 😂
Thanks, brother. I'm happy with the result. 😂🤣😁 I'll take a Barry White comparison.
Cleaned up real nice brother. Good job. Thanks for sharing it.
Thank you, brother. Thanks for having a look. Have a great day!
WOW, that came out really nice. The bone may show it's age but man does it look good. Great job bringing the blades back. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
Thank you very much. I enjoy the process. Very relaxing. Thanks for having a look. Have a great day!
I like them SABRE knives there grest users especially when they clean up!!!!! I hope your doing well today thanks for sharing stay well 😊
I think, at the time, they were criticized for being made in Japan. Likely a post WWII sentiment. This one has plenty of life left in it. Doing well. I hope you are getting some cooler temperatures today. Stay cool and take care. Thanks for having a look.
It looks great. Amazing job 👏👍
Thank you very much!
Man! That is one sweet 67!!!! Clean!!! 🔥🔥🔥. Rockin the community!!!
That it is and a cool way to show off the knife and the stickers.
Great looking blade
I'm very pleased with it. Feels like a well made knife. Cuts like a razor. Thanks for having a look.
Enjoyed your video like the way you do them. The Pilar is a very good knife, strong and stout built. Great work knife 👍👊💯
Thank you! I recall your video on the modifications you did. Very cool. I agree, a great work knife! Have a great day!
I’m usually not a fan of the thumb hole in my knives, probably why I just can’t get into Spyderco, they are well built quality knives, but I just can’t get past the looks. It’s a good looking knife, I definitely appreciate the rectangular hole more so than the round on the Spyderco, definitely love the blade shape. I have to be honest, I don’t think I’ll be breaking out the card for this one, it helps that my wife won’t give me the card anyway.😂🤣 Great video brother, see ya on the next one.👍🇨🇦
Haha!.. With the moderns, right now, I'm basically going through what a Joe Average Canuck can pick up at Bass pro/Cabela's. I think that was the second modern that i picked up. The thumb hole, I find, works best for the reverse (Spidey) flick. Back flipper works the best. It's a good work knife. Not necessarily a good overall knife. Haha! The Mrs. is getting wise to you. Soon she'll consider me a bad influence. 😉 Have a great day!
Looks like a good knife. Thanks for the review and appreciate the video. God bless you and your family.
It's a good worker/utility knife, imo. Thank you for taking the time to have a look. Always appreciated. Blessings to you and yours.
Great review brother. you're doing an awesome job with your videos. Btw, your stickers went back in the mail this morning, with correct postage lol. have a great day my friend. God bless.
Thank you very much! I just wing it during recording and then, hopefully, clean up the mess in post processing 😂. Thanks for spending the extra to send them my way. Have a great day!
@@Pocket_EDC of course my friend.
That's a beauty! Thanks for sharing
Sure is. Thanks for having a look. Have a great day!
MAN!!!! That's a BEAUTIFUL Camaro!! Oh yeah, that knife and those stickers are pretty nice too!
It's certainly a sweet ride.... with decent accessories. 😂
I agree with all said above, Excellent
Thanks for taking the time to have a look, brother. Have a great day!
I’ve never had anything inspected that came wrapped back up so poorly. That is really unfortunate. Awesome knife though.
It is a great knife. Sadly, people don't take as much pride in their job as they used too. Have a great day!
I like them better than the ones we have now! 😂
They made getting a phone call a bigger deal, and it was definitely more of a statement to hank up on someone. 🤣
Very nice! I recently got a NOS half hawk in this series. Stunning knife.
It's a great dye color that really jumps out at you. Bet that half hawk looks sharp. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Great knife and awesome Camaro.
I think they go well together. Thanks for having a look.
Do what it takes to heal!🎉 I broke my C2 and am out of commission now for 3 months. So, all the best.
Dang! Very sorry to hear that. Much worse then what I am dealing with. Hope you experience a speedy, problem free recovery. Take care.
@Pocket_EDC After a cat scan showed both the fracture and cancer. Following radiation, I'm on the mend. So do what it takes to heal. Then, take your wife on a well-deserved cruise 🎉
Oh, she wouldn't say no to that. I hope you can do the same.
is there a link where i can buy one?
I know they are available on Amazon (.ca and .com).

SERIOUSLY, THANK YOU Dave for flying our colors on that GORGEOUS HOT ROD brother!! And THANK YOU TODD for putting this whole piece and tribute together on camera!! You 2 gents are without a doubt TOP SHELF all the way!! Proud to call you both my friend and fellow brothers in this ridiculously cool brotherhood and community of our!! YOU GUYS ROCK!🎸🎷🥁🤘
Dave has given excellent support to my little effort here. The very least I could do. As have you. Greatly appreciate your support and encouragement. Have a great Sunday, brother and friend!
Morning HT, did you happen to get my email? Baxter is gonna send me a Tiger sticker and he told me to ask you if you would mind sending him my home address. He said he doesn’t post his email anymore because of all the crazies. I gladly give you my permission to share my address with him. Thanks so much my friend, I really appreciate it. I think he just wants to hear it from someone he trusts. I would really appreciate it my friend.👍🇨🇦🇺🇸
I was actually giddy when this video popped up, I can’t believe how good Todd is at making videos. Both you guys have my respect for the time and work that goes into making videos. I didn’t realize how hard it was until I made these short car videos, I had to shoot them at least ten times before I had something half decent. Seriously, thank you both, I wish I could hit the like more than once.👍🇨🇦🇺🇸
@@oxyfee6486 yesssirr, i did. Already take care of buddy. He now has your info...🤘👌👊🙏💯🇨🇦💪

My goodness....!! Would u just look at those lines, that symmetry, the color, my goodness gracious that has to be one of the nicest set of decals I'VE EVER SEEN!!?? And the car is pretty nice too...🤔😆🤣😉
🙄😄😂🤣😅
That is a jaw dropping ride right there!
It certainly is a sweet looking ride! And the knife color scheme matches to boot.
Its a SanRenMu F7130, later named S601
Excellent. Thank you for the information. Have a great day!
Boom!! That was awesome!!! I love what you did, you really brought my shaky video to life. Can’t wait until the family wakes up to show them. Excellent job brother, you really have some editing skills, thank you so much, I’m sending it to my son right after I’m finished texting. Seriously Todd, just incredible!!!!👍🇨🇦
Glad you liked it, brother! Your videos were better then you give yourself credit for. Your car is now internet famous (well, with at least a couple hundred people 😅). Have a great day!
Thats one rosecraft I do not have. I almost got it but they just kept coming out with more patterns that I had to have. I do have the little riverbend skinner in white bone and love it! Well built knives for the money!
I was tempted by the smaller version. The sale price won out in the end. Worked out well as I can't imagine a better fit to the hand. White bone would be hot though. Would have liked this one in other then black but (like smoky gray bone). Probably one will come out next week 😂
@@Pocket_EDC When they first advertised its release it said smokey gray or black bone. Then we got the micarta? i was a little upset. Still a very nice knife though.
Great knife. I was worried when you showed the inspected sticker that they may have confiscated it. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
Thanks, Stan. I was worried when I kept getting UPS updates that it was bouncing through more than one inspection facility in Quebec. It certainly got past around. Thanks for having a look.
Good looking lil edc fixie Todd!! 👍👌🙏💯🇨🇦💪
Thanks, brother. It has worked well for me so far. Cheers.
Shipping is actually reasonable, CKW is a flat rate fifty bucks, that’s American too though correct? Like you said, we have no choice, we have a lot of options to buy in Canada for modern knives, not so much on traditional blades. Personally I would like to see all restrictions lifted on knives, I would love to own some automatics. I would like to see more.😂
In the end, with all costs applied, I think I got value for the money. Knife restrictions make no sense, especially as they are not universally applied. A person can grab a huge kitchen knife that will do far more damage then a pocket knife. Deployment speed isn't really a significant issue. If a person has the will to use a knife with bad intent, if it takes 1 second or 1 minute to make ready, it's going to be ready before that person makes a move. Speed of deployment really only matters for self-defense, and there should be no restriction on that. Have a great day, brother!
Ordered mine last night, I knew I had to have one as soon as you sent me that picture. Wife is going to be so happy when she sees the package come, her hip is healing now, which means she can almost chase me to hit me.😂🤣
Haha! Good hip or bad, I bet she still has good aim with a can of soup! I think you'll like it. Be ready for lots of UPS updates. Mine travelled all over Quebec by the looks of the progress.
