Do you have any metrics on accuracy from SQL Server to PostgreSQL? I ran a few scripts through the online tool and got back functions that don't exist in PostgreSQL.

SQL Server is mentioned. It is not performing better on Windows. With MS SQL 2016 Microsoft has modified SQL Server for multi platform support, measurements using Red Hat even suggest the opposite, better performance on Linux. But it is not that known and popular in the open source world.

It would be nicer if you could insert vectors in the format as returned by open AI and then the database converts and stores that as binary data. Also, mariadb really needs custom named types based on simple types with a validator . i.e. CREATE TYPE vector FROM varbinary VALIDATE WITH <some user defined function that takes the raw type and returns boolean>

all nice, but the big question is , how to avoid server to crash after you had done everything. so far all documentation i have found does not mention what is the next step to follow after you have your db servers connected and working.

I think there is too much code in mariaDB, I don't know if it will be too much garbage or not enough optimization. But what I do know is that if you tried to rewrite all the code more carefully to make a MariaDB-Lite, where 40% of the least used features were eliminated in favor of spectacular performance, you would discover that more than 80% of MariaDB users will switch to MariaDB-lite. I left MariaDB in its 10.4 version and at the moment I have no intention of going back, we'll see if the performance of version 11 makes me change my mind, but today I doubt it.
